2014 Honda Accord V6 RV6 Jpipe Install video W Before / After Driving Clips 9th Generation Accord V6

  • In this video, I detail the process of removing the stock factory Jpipe from a 9th Generation Honda Accord V6 (2014), and install a better flowing RV6 Jpipe that deletes the 3rd CAT. There is also before and after driving clips to compare the sound of stock factory pipes to RV6 Jpipe.
    Overall, after doing a little more driving and letting the ECU re-learn everything on my Ktuned Accord V6, I did notice some gain in acceleration power off the line and mid range improved response with just a little bit of raspyness, but not bad sounding at all.
    The only other mods on the vehicle are the Ktuner stage 1 91 octane tune, with the newly installed RV6 Jpipe, and drop in AFE performance air filter.

      Did you have any problems with inspections?

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ganzonomy No issues as the oxygen sensors come before the CATS, so there are no check engines lights or bad smells or anything. If you were to remove the pre cats (PCD's) you will fail emissions though unless you use a high-flow precat, which is what they sell now by RV6.

    looks awesome and sounds pretty damn good, I love it and thank you so much for showing the process of revoming the factory pipe and putting on the new generation, I loved it

      Thanks as always man. And yeah got some better exhaust flow and a little reduced weight. One of these days, I'll have re-test my acceleration pulls to see if I made any gains on some timed runs.

      @lawsonbishop9835 I didn't get to take it on my local track yet, but I definitely can tell the car is much more responsive, even under lighter throttle input. Even on the stock factory tune, the car is definitely quicker.

    Love the car man, how much louder is it compared to stock, and do you have to tune to have this on or can you just bolt on and be fine?

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not much louder at all, just a slightly higher tuned like tone, but under regular driving or idle, there is no difference in sound. And you do not need a tune for an RV6 downpipe, but you'll feel the power a bit more when tuned.

    • @josephmacary3597
      @josephmacary3597 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LousWRX do you think it’s worth getting without a tune? And do you know if you can pass emissions w it?

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @josephmacary3597 Well, if you want to get tuned later, you can always just do that. It does improve gas mileage, though, thanks to a better flowing exhaust. And yes, you will still pass emissions, as the oxygen sensors come before the deleted 3rd CAT. But if you are in California, I don't think it would pass as I think they visually look under the vehicle for the 3rd catalytic converter.

    you need a tune for any HP gain

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure if you read the description or pinned comment, but I am tuned with the Ktuner Stage 1, which does take into effect with RV6-J-PIPE. Also, when not tuned, you can still feel the better power delivery of the less restriction without the 3rd catalytic converter.

    Can you still pass emissions?

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the Oxygen sensors are placed before the 3rd Catalytic converter. But for California, I think they are more strict and will probably check to see if the vehicle has the 3rd cat still, everywhere else in USA should be fine though I would think.

    This will still pass emissions??

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the only time you will fail if you remove the pre-cats, which are bolted to exhaust manifold. The 3rd CAT that is deleted with this j-pipe will not affect emissions at all as the oxygen sensors are placed before the 3rd cat.

    Would you have cold start videos from behind the car before & after in the same environment per chance?

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX  ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly don't, but there is no difference in sound on a cold start before / after the J-Pipe, petty quiet until you do a pull with the vehicle above 4500 RPM, and no bad smells either.
