Sweet little truck, dude. Too bad about the little 6. The y block idea sounds good to me as a "throw back" or retro rod. You mentioned the burnt orange/white paint combo would be saved for a 56 ford. I dont remember the car, but my mom and dad had a 56 ford sunliner when they were newly married in 1961. It was orange and white. Hopped up 312. He traded it off in 1963. It had bullet holes in the trunk from a "police pursuit". Dad had a knack for trouble when he was young. The young man that bought the sunliner with the bullet holes in the trunk, ended up marrying my moms little sister. He drove it till it quit then parked it in a fence row where it eventually rotted away. Price for a t shirt? 2x for me as I too need the jack stands all the way up. My friend had a '94 F150 straight 6 with a 5 speed. So he had a '53 F100 on his property in very good condition and we decided to take the engine and transmission from the '94 and swap it to the '53 and fix everything that needed fixing and we made a really nice truck out of that '53.
Greetings from Missouri. Man, that thing has potential!! I’m not sure about the earlier F-Series trucks, but I know in the mid to late ‘60s to late ‘70s you can use a Crown Victoria front end. That would give you disc brakes. I, myself, would go with a 289, 292 Y-block or a 302 paired with a 4-speed. Had a chance to buy a ‘55 Ford four door with the original Y-block for $2,000. Good ole' 351 swap, that'll fix it, don't even need nothing fancy, just a greasy random 351, hell even a 302 would be fine.
I'd love to do a Windsor but you just can't find them!
@@MortskeRepair Yeah, shame it takes some modification to convert the later EFI 302's and 351's to a carb. Wonder if you could find a 289? Could piss everyone off and put a 318 or something in it, 'cause who doesn't hate a mopar powered Ford?
To bad ur not closer....theres a shitton here not far from me. Wv.
@@elchapo291 Shoot that's a haul! Drive one out!
@@MortskeRepair Nothing is ever easy is it? haha
I have my grandpa's flywheel tool from the good old days.
I love old tools!
Pick up a cheap ranger and do a 4.0 v6 swap. Put a whole ranger drivetrain in it!?
yes..good idea...and something really different
Not a terribile idea!
I like the wifi muffler setup that came with this one. Even has extra windings in the antennae wire.
Bluetooth option!
I like the old school easy-ish way: SBC, carb, Volare IFS, 9".
Cool old truck my brother's first truck was 53 Ford had a 312 in it. At least this one even though it's missing the upper radiator hose the lower hose isn't a flexy hose lol
Definitely put a Ford motor back in it please! Don't be like everyone else and bastardized it with a shitverlet motor
Yes definitely not a damn LS engine.
289, 302, 351, 312. Lots of options
Fords just aren't as user friendly. They're hard to find around here and expensive!
12v cummins and do your own take on Westen's "Fummins"
@@MortskeRepair yeah but y-block tho
All ya can do is your best. Great video bud keep em comin we love ya up here in Canada
Will do!
It's against the law to be from MN and to put a LS in a FORD. Nope, nada, no good!
Good thing I'm not from MN! Haha
You put any damn engine you want in it .Putting a ford in a ford is for model car builders.
WW Wallwork!!! Damn i love these old ND rigs. I remember when Wallwork was the Ford dealer back in the day. Before it became a hot tub outlet.....

Time to resurrect that boat anchor y'ed block.clever play with the NZ bugger ad.Wildest dreams never thought you'd eat a crank.
Chevy engines belong in Chevys. Put a Ford in it! Dont embarrass Duffy!
Duff don't get embarrassed so long as we ain't walkin!
I could see a sweet 292 lookin perfect in there once she runnin!!!
Where is Duff we need more Duff in the video's the guy is always making small appearances and then sneaking off we need more Duff ;)
300 w/turbo. Done it and its good. I've got 3 of em here, come and get one. If you want something different, put a 6v71 in it. I'd love anything ford though, 385 series, flathead, whatever.
I look forward to watching this build, whichever direction you take it
That's a heckuva story! $30/shipped on the shirts
My friend had a '94 F150 straight 6 with a 5 speed. He blew the head gasket and decided to rebuild the whole motor, 2 months later the transmission went out so he had it rebuilt, 6 months after that he wrecked the truck. So he had a '53 F100 on his property in very good condition and we decided to take the engine and transmission from the '94 and swap it to the '53 and fix everything that needed fixing and we made a really nice truck out of that '53.
Sounds like a sweet rig!
Love to see you recycle what you have on hand and make something unique. But if inspiration and a bargain come together then...
Didn’t have the extra money at the time. I would have daily driven that one. The fact that you leave your “learning experiences” in the videos is great. Most folks would edit that stuff out. Take care.
The CV is a bit wide for these. Would love to have a manual! Thanks for watching!
@@MortskeRepair you think a Mustang II or Ranger front end would work? Just tossing ideas around. I enjoy your videos, brother. Thanks for making them!!
@@lucasceglinski2352 an MII would work fine. Never looked into the Ranger.
@@MortskeRepair I wonder if a Camaro would work. I know it does on the older Chevs. Don’t know if they’d be compatible. Maybe only Ford to Ford and Chev to Chev. You’ve got a badass shop and know how. I’m sure you could make probably anything work.
@@lucasceglinski2352 They actually work pretty well. Just hard to find these days!
