  • This 1967 Ford F100 was parked here and torn apart 40 years ago in 1980. It has 76k original miles and is such a cool piece of history, we are so glad to be able to save. Can we get it running and drive it home, after sitting for so long? I hope you all enjoy this fun! Want more? Let us know down below! Thank you so much for the love and support!

Had a straight six in a 1980 f100 it sat for 8+ years after purchasing another truck. I finally made the choice to sell it. To my surprise a guy called on the first morning and wanted to come see it right away. I hadn't even cleaned the ten inches of leaves out of the bed. Holy moly I had to run to the parts store and the gas station on the way over to where the truck was stored. I put the five gallons of gas in that filled it up....so it already had 15 in it.i only had ten minutes till he showed up so I fastened in the battery hooked up the pos, and then when I touched the neg the engine started like it was just turned off 5 minutes ago. The smell of the wurst gas I've ever smelled coming out of the tail pipe almost made me puke. As I looked up the guy arrived 5 minutes early. He got out of his car looked at the truck for 1-2 minutes and said I'll take it. I was only there minutes before he showed up. You gotta laugh btw I saw him driving that ole truck for years after that........

Here's a VERY HELPFUL tip from a guy that has done numerous jobs like this. When working in the field with a lot of brush and tall grass, always place a blue tarp of plastic on the ground under as much of the vehicle as possible. Small bolts, screws and parts are nearly impossible to find when dropped...and you will drop some. Cheap and easy insurance to find them.

I came over here from watching #VGG wake up a 'Vette, & here you guys are waking up an old Ford...must be my lucky day!
And you must've read my mind, because you gave me an update on the Comet while getting this one ready to go - looking forward to more on that...I did mention I'm not a Ford fan, right? :)
Also want to give your Dad a shout out for knocking out those brakes - front drums bring back memories of learning how to service them back in high school. When another student mentioned that cars had front discs now (this was the '80s), my instructor said "You really think you're only going to service cars built now? You need to be prepared for whatever rolls in the door!" And that advice has been a big help over the years. See ya on Monday!

It's more like they didn't care about it and then they decided we can sell it. "There will always be someone who could repair it" type mentality, without they themselves understanding the effort it takes to repair it after neglect and rot for years.

If you left a truck like that outside for 40 years round here, it would just be a big pile of rust by now.

You got that right . I appreciate when someone finds a forgotten vehicle and takes the initiative to get it home and clean it up . Old cars and trucks restored to former glory with a nice paint job and tires always get many looks . Got to admire their spirit . Nice that a young lady has that spirit too .

Yeah, it doesn't looks like it was 40y old under that wood whitout touch. Someone has been doing some work on it, also it was painted to protect it against rust.

Definitely! I live in Utah and my 1990 f250 has 10 times more rust than that. Lol my 2014 Chevy impala already has rust holes in the doors.

It was tagged in 1997. I appreciate them getting it running but you don’t have to lie to kick it my man lmao

Wish I could find a '60 to '67 F100 stepside like this with auto and air. Apparently a rare combo.
