This is really so pretty!!!! It is on to do list.Thank you! I stated out sewing clothes, I took sewing 4 yrs. in high school. I even made a hand dyed guilt and won a Blue ribbon. It was for the high school art fair. I love sewing and quilting. It really my life...I love your channel.
The algorithm has thrown you my way for the first time today. The first thing I liked about your video is your exuberance. I have been quilting for about six years, and you’ve taught me some thing about how to make a bargello, so believe that you have a good effect on people. I’m hitting subscribe now and I’ll see what you’re going to do.
Oh my goodness, I have just discovered the trip around the world quilt and have been looking into it and now you have one on your channel! I love it. It's so bright and cheery. You have convinced me, I'm going to have to make one of these. Love your quilt.
Great video btw. Love your enthusiasm! I started sewing quilts in 2020, and I love it. Bought a longarm and I'm grateful that I get to sew whatever i want, lol
@seweasybysandy the Trip around the world quilt, Jordan fabric has a great video. They have a lot of free patterns , do does Missouri star. I'm struggling with a double wedding ring quilt, lol. Sewing curves are a pain, but so pretty 😍
I’m definitely ordering the jelly roll rainbow. What I will do is go back to ur video and follow ur Instructions for cutting and layout. I only made a trip around the world once and can’t find pattern. I will have to watch the video over and over again.
This is beautiful! And you should make a shirt, or adopt it as your slogan for intro/outros, it is absolutely your joy that makes these so fun to watch 🥰 For creators to watch on your sewing journey @ThoughtfulCreativity has similiar energy to you and has a huge range of projects with tutorials for clothing/drafting/planning, @RoseryApparel has tutorials for her patterns that are pretty timeless and work well in quilting cottons for skill transitions as well as a great series on smaller projects (as a quilter they might seem easy but the techniques transfer well to clothing) and @SeamworkVideo has a good library with techniques, hacks, tips for neatness and a podcast(!). There are so many out there it’ll be easy to find yourself in a rabbit hole 😂
For apparel, try Evelyn Wood youtube channel, you can watch the videos and get so much information, but she also has an online sewing school, if you want the in depth and personal touch and community. She really loves vintage clothing, but, the techniques she teaches are for all clothing. She just spent the last year and a half beating cancer, so there isn't a lot of recent content , but her channel has eight years of incredibly helpful videos.
Sandy, help! How do you do straight seams again and again for long pieces like this? I always find my start swerving slightly. Once I get to ironing it is more evident. Any tips?
I have found that using a stack of painters tape with the quarter inch marked or the magnet to keep stitches straight works great for me. Makes my start and finish so much better.
Check out Anita By Design, she is very talented and makes clothes. A lovely and intelligent lady and such an inspiration. Thank you for your content and explaining this very well. ❤

Beautiful quilt, Sandy. I am a tailor, and I know what you feel, but I only make clothes for others. 😊 Have a great week ❤😊
How is that possible? How can you resist making your own clothes? 😁 You too
Great video btw. Love your enthusiasm! I started sewing quilts in 2020, and I love it. Bought a longarm and I'm grateful that I get to sew whatever i want, lol
Yes, long arms make a huge difference. Mine is... Medium I would say and already it's easier to quilt 😄

Sounds like a great plan 😁
Would love to see you do a bigger quilt, I’d like to do a king size using 3 colours, black, grey and white xx
That will look awesome 😁
10:10 -- I would also use rectangles and keep all the pieces! 🎉😊❤

Thank you so much. I'm already too far into the rabbit hole to quit! Hehehe
I also watch Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics. She's amazing!
She is!
My canine quilt companion is also a Jack Russel
They're the sweetest 🥰
Try Jenny Doan of Missouri Star and Karen Brown of Just Get It Done Quilts. They both have umpteen posts on techniques and making quilts.
Hi Sandy! How big does this quilt end up being?
Hi. I only used half a jelly roll and it ended up being about 40 by 40 inches, a little bit less.

Sandy, help! How do you do straight seams again and again for long pieces like this? I always find my start swerving slightly. Once I get to ironing it is more evident. Any tips?
Hi! With a good iron and lot's of patience! heheheh Some people use sprays that make it easier to iron but I've never tried it.
I have found that using a stack of painters tape with the quarter inch marked or the magnet to keep stitches straight works great for me. Makes my start and finish so much better.
Don't sew all the strips together in the same direction. Sew every other seam from "the bottom" instead of "the top". That helps against bowing.
@@KelleysQuiltsandCruises That's a great one too, yes!
Be careful not to stretch your fabric . You might also try sewing top to bottom and then bottom to top.
I would watch tomkat stitchery with Whitney. She is great
Thank you, I'll look her up 😄
I also want to make my clothes but don’t know how to adjust them to to my body
True, lots of loose fitting clothes in my near future 😂😂😂
Try Mimi G Style for sewing clothes.
thank you!
If you want quilt channels Missouri star and Jordan fabric.
Where can I get the pattern for this quilt please
Hi. I have a step by step tutorial in my blog, there's a link in the description for it.
I would like to make it in a single quilt size. Can you advise how many fat quarters of each design I would need to buy xx
