Excellently written and excellently performed. Leopold and Amadeus Mozart, when they held classes - used concertos, symphonies of Andrea Luchesi. Creation is a "collective" process in which numerous artisans participate, they all create - a "wave of genius" - and we later forget all those "others" and attribute everything to only "one" man. Mozart was not produced by God's talent, it was produced by the work and expertise of similar composers: Andrea Luchesi , André Grétri, Paisiello, Johan Bah, Galupi, Misliveček, padre Martini, Bokerini, Vicente Martín y Soler, Thomas Arne, Jameli, Traetta, Anfossi, Pichini, Sarti, Gazzaniga, Stamic, Dusek, Benda, Koželuh, Anton Fils, Emanuel Bach, Ditersdorf, Salieri, Vanhal, Mihael Haydn, Josef Haydn, Saint-Georges, Schobert, Schuster, Pleyel, Gosek i &.

      Giusta disamina.

You quote many composers . They are not at the same level! Paisiello, Myslivececk ,Traetta K.P.E Bach for example were far superior to Gossek or Anfossi. Franz Joseph Haydn better than his brother Michael! Mozart had the gift to absorb the italian, French and German style : the result was astonishing not a simple addition but something new. Luchesi was esteemed as a clavecinist by Leopold and Wolfgang. He played, like many italian composers, an important role as kapellmeister in Bonn, he was good in orchestration ( not like Haydn of course) and perhaps the young Beethoven learned something from him. This is his contribution to the history of the music. His composition reveal a good level of craftmanship. Not less not more. This symphony shows some modern solutions even if the inspiration is quite common.

Looks to me like some sort of 'rotational system' to train young Mozart toward what kind of "Perfection"?? Jn

@@alessandrofinozzi8265 With due respect, this wonderful little work cannot really be "Mozartean" since Luchesi is 15 years Wolfgang's senior.
However, the question of influence is somewhat muddied by the fact this sinfonia appears to have been unpublished during Luchesi's lifetime.
(PS. I believe a somewhat better upload of this and 5 other such equally appealing works is here:
