Thank you, Orchestra and the many soloists and Zideneck Adam with your clarinet masterfully played "but most of all to Adalbert Gyrowetz the person most responsible for bringing this wonderful composition here to enjoy!!
This hugely prolific composer deserves more than he gets from today's concert hall programmers. Here is an example of a master at work and would be well received by audiences worldwide today. Sadly, this score is simply gathering dust somewhere!
Thanks David, I'm glad you like his music. But we both know the reason for the lack of his music (and that of many other composers) in concert halls: too many would ask, "Who the hell is this Jirovec?". Of course, the Czechs do their best for their composers (this symphony has at least two recordings), but it is difficult for all these forgotten composers to be brought back to the attention of the music-loving public.
@@sibarit101 Yes, you are absolutely correct. The Czechs are very cultural but tend to only promote their own music but they have some wonderful composers to choose from. The Germans are similar too. However, I subscribe to live streaming on You Tube to the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra concerts and think they are fantastic. And I thought the audiences were very knowledgeable too, until last night when they didn't realise that Sibelius' 7th Symphony had ended. I couldn't believe it!
@David A Oh, I'm glad to hear such "news" ... 🙂 I thought this was only happening in my city! At a concert, the conductor, a guest from Belgium, changed the program and started with the scheduled symphony instead of starting with Smetana's Vltava as it was mentioned in the written program. Many people applauded after the first movement of the symphony believing that it was Vltava ... Although I was very ashamed, I was glad that the conductor passed this moment with great elegance ... there were many young people in the hall ...
@@sibarit101 One very good thing comes out of what you write. "There were many young people in the hall" Fantastic, that's precisely what needs to be happening. Whenever I go to a concert it's as if they've let all the residents out of the local old people's home!! :-) :-) (Actually, that could include me!!!!!!!!).
@David A Yes, I enjoyed the presence of young people. I hope they will listen to more and more music and also learn the rules that must be followed in a concert hall.... David, let's enjoy our age and the fact that we have learned so many things in these many years ... 🙂 Thanks!
Thank you for this. It is good to hear composers, famous in their time, now unjustly almost forgotten. I am amused by the record cover, since it is a portrait by Thomas Gainsborough of Carl Friedrich Abel, certainly not a Czech composer!
Thank you very much! Regarding the cover, you are right, there are mistakes here, but I really like this 'Baroque Bohemia & Beyond' series from Alto (10 CDs.?) which brought us a lot of great music by lesser known composers.
Yulia not a word too much in your discussion with David A. I agree complete and I enjoyed this brilliant recording. Above all, continue your excellent work and have a great weekend!
Thank you, dear Pieter, for always supporting and encouraging me to post even when I was disappointed or upset on TH-cam. I think there are few people like you who know classical music so well, including that of lesser-known composers, and who understand why I post especially from their music. Have a great weekend!
Dear friend, I tell you as I have told other friends who supported and encouraged me: 7 years have passed since I opened this channel and I am tired. Preparing the posts took me a lot of time. Maybe in the winter, when the weather will no longer be favorable for recreational walking, I will come back. Thank you for everything. All the good wishes for you!
@@mikhailmoscow1542 The age does not matter here. I'm tired of convincing TH-camrs that classical music should be listened to… I wanted absolutely no economic profit from my uploads on TH-cam. I just wanted to share this wonderful music by composers unknown or underappreciated today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who liked my TH-cam channel.
I posted continuously at any time of the year, one or two musical works per week. The post date is written below each videoclip. Now I've interrupted the posts and I still haven't decided if I resume them.

Very good little known czech composer. Well worth exploring.
A number of CDs of him available.
Thank you! I agree with you, he was a very talented composer.

I wonder what time of year you are posting such beautiful songs.
Which country are you a citizen ?

Sorry for my late answer Aniko but as far as I know Yulia from Romania is in fine health of which I'm thankful!
