( witch sheep to choose ; these to avoid and why...)Sounds like a let's play in depth or something like that XD
thanks for the help with surviving the tutorial, could you talk about which weapons and ships you prefer for different types of playstyles - I'm having an okay time surviving now but I can't decide what sort of fleet composition I should pursue, where to even find desireable ships or weapons - and missiles seem to suck because of their limited ammo. good luck with the irl stuff anyhow
That's going to be a long ways into the series, but yes. (Colony management is a mid-to-late game activity; getting in to early is actually a great way to tank your campaign)
From what I can tell you are going to want to have a good selection of blueprints for ships in order to have them manufactured for system defense. Also your own fleet is probably going to have to be medium cruiser strength and a dozen deep or more as well. Choosing a system in which your colonies can help patch each others holes for example supply food for the mining world and ore for the food world seems like a fairly good thing to shoot for as well. Finally there seems to be a benefit to having your worlds fairly close to one another in the system in order to make overlapping fleet defense viable.
Hi there, I've been looking through a lot of your videos and I'm excited for this coming series. I'm new to the game and something I'm having trouble with this the transponder mechanic, especially when it comes to smuggling. How much does buying from the black market affect your "suspicion" and where can I find that stat? Also, refitting is troublesome because there seems to be an overwhelming amount of information and most I've found isn't very well explained. I'm not sure how to balance a fleet and make it effective or where to source weapons and what weapons go well on which hull.
Someone else has asked for a video about trading, which smuggling is a part of. I think that will be the next 'guide' video I'll make. I've also got a fleet planning video in the works, but it might take a day or two because, as you say, it's complicated :D
