My favorite garden tour! I lost count how many times I have watched it since you originally featured it and I still gain inspiration with each viewing.
This has always been, hands down, my favorite garden and home you've featured on your channel! The layering, the textures, the hues and that iconic front door!
Second time watching the beautiful front and backyard of Marquette Clay, loving every moment of it. I saw him on a another garden tour. I hope Mr. Clay decides to join Linda on a return tour of his beautiful and inspiring garden.
Linda, I may be one of the few who don’t know your history outside of your older home. Could you do a video talking about your work that led you to creating YT videos? Love your videos! Thank you.
I remember loving this garden when you also did a back yard tour one day. Love everything about this. The front yards graduating levels and stone planters are magical with the white picket fence. Have you ever done an inside tour of this sweet cottage. My imagination is crazy curious!
I’m so glad Stewart started joining in on the video conversations!😂I am now very anxious to get back out in the garden. So many plans and ideas gathered from seeing this garden again.
Stewart, your videography is showcased excellently in this video 😊 I've re-watched the original several times, and this video in particular has always impressed me 🌿 Such a beautiful garden front and back!
I live in Montana. We have had negative 35 to negative 60 for over a week. I currently have over 3 feet of snow. I cannot even imagine seeing green like you are right now. ❄☃️❄☃️
I LOVE that Front Entry Door color!! Yummy!! Laced Up Elderberry, variegated. Wow!! THAT'S a Yaupon Holly? 😊 Would love it if you could provide a plant id list for this entire front garden. There were a few plants, unnamed, I was curious about. Was that? Soft Caress Mahonia amongst the Agapanthus?? Or, what???
Hi from Annie, such a wonderful garden this is so green and healthy lots of shade too. That door is a real knockout it is fantastic the green shade just grabs you. I see a lot of the same plants here that I have in my garden in Adelaide, Aussie land😅 so these plants must grow all over the world rather well then. I think your garden would look nice if you sort of did a bit of a copycat of this one. Your garden looks very sad at the moment the weather has really played havoc there. But as you said this lovely bungalow garden is not far from your house so it seems to have a better choice of plants and trees etc. I can see this design replicated in to your front and the entrance with the green hedges as they are welcoming in any garden and more trees for shade always does well. Of course more flowers thrown in is always a blessing to see happy colours in the garden. My favourites are pansies they have such a brilliant variety of colours out. Can't forget the petunias and the tulips and roses. This bungalow garden is a real winner does not take a lot to maintain. I absolutely love it.
I think his garden is all about texture and contrast. Brilliant! My problem is I have hardly any shade. What are some plants with lots of texture for full sun? Boxwoods get windburned here.
I renovated a full-sun front garden last summer. I used repeating plants in swaths of purple/blues. Nepeta, Veronica, Betony Humelo, Ajuga, liatris, Rozeanne cranesbill, Agastache, Siberian iris, grasses (prairie dropseed), sedum, monarda, delphinium, coneflower, Rainbow Spurge, alliums, baptisia. This year, I'll continue filling in the rest of the bed with pink flowering plants. Working on my list. I'm in Minneapolis, zone 5a (new).
@@Edu_Kate Wow! I want to add prairie dropseed and irises this year. My list is really long, but I think if I concentrate on repeating one or two things throughout, I will feel better about it. Thank you.
@@karenschrantz2307 Oh, I wish I could post photos here. I spend hours staring at them. Quite a difference from when I started to end of season. The growth was remarkable from when I planted the half-dead plants with wide open spaces to touching. This year, I am digging kind of a meandering Y path through the garden. I want to make it inviting for neighborhood kids to explore. I have a forked tree stump that turned upside down looks just like a lower torso standing knee-deep in the soil. I screwed a belt around the top and might make a mosaic design on the cut top for a seat (though that could get hot 🔥 for hinies) 😆
Wow I wish you would put more ideas on your videos on how to protect your outdoor plants from the freezing temperatures. Loving your channel from San Antonio Texas!
I wonder what the garden is like in the thick of winter... wish you would visit gardens in the winter as well :) By the way we are in the middle of an ice storm in Portland, Oregon :)
During a "warm spell" in Minneapolis last month, I painted my front door. Only first coat so far. New color is based off PW 'Once in a Melon' echinacea color. Cantaloupe, sort of. Previous color faded from "asparagus" green to almost a pale blue. It faces East. I think that's almost more harsh than south or west exposure.
Unfortunately I am so in lovvve with aged gardens. Something you can’t buy. The green that starts to show on surfaces, the faded wood. Mature plants. Tall shrubs that have been limbed up. 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩 One day 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I love the low maintenance concept and the layers of beautiful green but I think many of the shrubs are overgrown for the space. Definitely triggers my claustrophobia.
My favorite garden tour! I lost count how many times I have watched it since you originally featured it and I still gain inspiration with each viewing.
Linda, can we see what the Appletini Door House looks like in winter? I really want to see it in the off season too.
What a lovely idea, with a dusting of snow on the ground!
Oh, I remember this one! My favorite garden tour you’ve featured!
I enjoyed this even more the second time thank you

I’m curious too about the interior! Please ask Marquet (sorry if I misspelled his name).
This has a Cape Cod cottage vibe which I love so much ! Thank you to the homeowner and you, Linda for sharing! Inspirational as always ❤

Gosh I am so yearning for Spring. Thank you for this video!

Beautiful
That green door is everything 💚
Oh my gosh, this house is fabulous! I’ve watched this a couple of times. I’m green with envy!
Love that place
My front door is
" appletini". I painted it this past summer. I love this color it just startled the eye in such a great way 😍
Wow!
I remember this tour it’s so pretty

another thing is the repetition of plants, but a limited number of variety makes a huge impact. I think I need to work on that in my garden.

It's such a gorgeous garden... I can see why it's your fav! Would you ever consider a picket fence (in the front like that) for your property?
Linda, what under the cabinet lights to you like and I think is a commission items for you Amazon item

The textures are phenomenal! What talent!
What is the purple spiky frond plant inside the boxwood by the green glass orbs? I love the color and leaf shape against the boxwood.
Green my favorite color

I’m in Portland, too! Hope you’re all staying safe!
Love the Appletini door. Could you provide brand of paint and the sheen? Thank you❤

Linda, Is the Appletini Green door a Behr paint? I’ve been thinking of painting my white wall lattice a similar color. Stay warm‼️
I’m not sure!
