Wow! What a difference the white paint on your house made. Almost looks like a new house. Both your front yard and back yard are AMAZING. I am so jealous. You should be so proud of all your hard work!

First things first! You lived there 28 years but you don't even look 28! Gosh, painting the house is such a beautiful change. Really a lovely yard! I have killed every Japanese maple I have planted. Best of luck with your future endeavors.

This garden tour was such a pleasure to watch, through and through! I'm in Texas too and wow, those are some major goals and dreams right there. You and your husband put so much love into your home gardens. You can see it in every square inch. Also i love hearing the delight in your voice. It's clear to see that you find great peace in surrounding yourself in beauty and supporting delicate ecosystems masterfully. Also, y'alls patio and bar are a dream! I have three trampling dogs, but your side gardens are giving me some inspiration.

First time viewer here. I normally hate when someone paints red brick white.... but this was an awesome transformation!!! Especially with the added dark shutters. What an upgrade!!! DO NOT paint the bistro. The lime green is an unexpected pop! I love it! And the amazing mature oak tree is incredible. The raised rock border gives it such a woodland feel. I love your japanese maple canopy trees. The back pond and turf are gorgeous!!!! I could sit out there all afternoon and listen to that sound! You two have really made a sanctuary for the soul.
Painting brick is usually the kiss of death imo. This is one of the only times I've seen it not only work but elevate the design tremendously. Your property is beautiful. I say get rid of that little bistro set or paint it black. Love, love love your garden and how you honor your MIL. So touching. Thank you so much for sharing

Out of all the garden tours I have been watching on TH-cam this week, I love yours the most. It is so well thought out and your plants are beautiful. If you're still creating the Texas garden, try pigeonberry. It grows in shade, flowers and fruits at the same time...all season long! A real treat for the birds, bees, and butterflies.

I would paint the bistro a deep turquoise blue, to match the planter you have on the front corner. But that's just me😊. I think you should start a gardening channel! That's what brought me here. Beautiful yard!

I don’t normally like brick being painted but maybe it’s because of the shutter and brown porch it just fits better. I think it’s because it has more of a rustic, cottage feel that is in the details and even the style of plants you chose it does look way better. I guess most people just paint a house and don’t add the style details like you did. The pond is gorgeous too.
Thank you! We have a few painted houses in our neighborhood that could use some plants and other elements to make the paint look good, so I understand what you are saying.

WOW! I have always loved red brick homes. BUT the details & colors you used after painting it white make it even prettier. Thank you for moving your camera slowly to make looking at it easy on the eyes. I LOVE all of the details in your garden! So many interesting things to look at. I love how you used things from your mother-in-law's garden to personalize with more of your family memories in your garden. You are so fortunate to have the big oak in your yard!
