I loved the fact that I didn’t see one flower! Well, there might’ve been few, but there’s barely any annuals in this garden. I love my annuals/flowers! So for me to love this space and have it hold my attention the whole video, says a lot! Stunning!!!

Jim, thanks for asking questions about transitions and plant placement. Learned a lot from this video. The tapestry is gorgeous. Too bad many of those plants won’t thrive in my subtropical zone.

This garden is a work of art. I was hanging on every word of Mr. Sifford’s descriptions and landscape design insights. I also love that he achieves so much color variation without relying on annuals. Wow, wow wow!!!

Mr Sifford's work is exceptional! He has managed to weave an Asian inspired garden into the Carolina metroplex with West coast DNA. Notice how he's able to completely blot out the traffic noise (Steph shows us just how loud at the end) while keeping the design soft, not claustrophobic. Jay's work immediately made me think of James Van Sweden. Really superior design❤

Beautiful piece of property and the garden tutorial was worth the price of admission! We recently moved from a full-sun acre to a much more shaded one-acre property and so it was fun to see what we can do with a variety of sun/shade areas with transitioning them from one to the other. Jim, it's always like attending a master's class when watching your videos.

NO LANDSCAPE FABRIC!!! Thank you so much for talking about that. I don’t know why ppl are so unbelievably obsessed with fabric. I’ve never once used it in my life. As long as you put down at least 2 different sizes of rock/gravel/stone, preferably 3 different sizes, it WILL NOT move around and weeds will not be a problem. This design is genuinely impressive. Its VERY eye catching and has many, flashy, and picturesque “frames” everywhere, yet it shows so much restraint and is never overwhelming. As someone who has been doing landscaping and landscape design for a long time… I can tell you that finding the balance between a “filled in” design and overwhelming chaos is extremely hard to pull off and very rarely witnessed. This place should be in an educational textbook somewhere and should be the standard. I’m bout to watch it again.

I grew up around fine Oriental tapestries. Maybe that's why I've always used the contrast, repetitions and texture in my designs. It's like painting or weaving with plants. Always more challenging because our pallets aren't static.
