I loved the fact that I didn’t see one flower! Well, there might’ve been few, but there’s barely any annuals in this garden. I love my annuals/flowers! So for me to love this space and have it hold my attention the whole video, says a lot! Stunning!!!
One of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen. Plants, hardscape, water features, house. Loved it all. Great camera work at the end. Wonderful tour Jim and Stephany.
Absolutely breathtaking! Who needs sunny flower borders when you can create something as tranquil and mesmerising as this. I also greatly appreciated the slow walk round at the end.
Jim, thanks for asking questions about transitions and plant placement. Learned a lot from this video. The tapestry is gorgeous. Too bad many of those plants won’t thrive in my subtropical zone.
This garden is a work of art. I was hanging on every word of Mr. Sifford’s descriptions and landscape design insights. I also love that he achieves so much color variation without relying on annuals. Wow, wow wow!!!
Many Many thanks to Jay for sharing his amazing design sense - Thank you to the homeowner for inviting us to enjoy their lovely garden - and thanks to Jim for connecting us with these lovely talented people 😊
Mr Sifford's work is exceptional! He has managed to weave an Asian inspired garden into the Carolina metroplex with West coast DNA. Notice how he's able to completely blot out the traffic noise (Steph shows us just how loud at the end) while keeping the design soft, not claustrophobic. Jay's work immediately made me think of James Van Sweden. Really superior design❤
I keep watching this video over and over. I stopped long enough to go to my local nursery to buy some plants, and now I'm watching it again. I guess you could say you've inspired me! 🌳
Wow! What an amazing space! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your conversation. The silent walk-through at the end was breathtaking. Thanks, Jim, Steph, Jay, and the homeowner for sharing this space with us.
Man that carex underneath that Japanese Maple is GORGEOUS 💚 Love the cool colors in this garden AND that horizontal fence. WOW!!! THANK YOU for this tour, so many ideas 🌳🌳🌳🐕
The drone footage really let the garden shine. The walk thru was lovely....but somehow my brain connected best with the overhead vision. Such a pretty place. I guess the plants absorb so much of the street noises also.
Beautiful piece of property and the garden tutorial was worth the price of admission! We recently moved from a full-sun acre to a much more shaded one-acre property and so it was fun to see what we can do with a variety of sun/shade areas with transitioning them from one to the other. Jim, it's always like attending a master's class when watching your videos.
Wow, everything about this video is a 10! The design, the interview, the camera work. I’ll definitely be watching it again to jot down all the specific design tips Mr. Sifford shared. I especially liked his attention to transition areas in the landscape, which I find challenging to do well.
Jay's mountain property video always stands out in my mind as a dream landscape. And here again, this landscape is beyond beautiful. I could watch videos all day with Jim and Jay. Wonderful video as usual... I listen carefully to Jay's thoughts and incorporate his methods in my own yard.
Thanks for making this video! Especially the silent and slow walk-through at the end. So much inspiration and diversity in plants, colors and textures! And with no grass and very few flowers. Simply amazing!
What a spectacular garden. Oh, my goodness. Lovely beyond words. I took a gazillion screen shots. You two guys even looked great in that beautiful space. Jk.
NO LANDSCAPE FABRIC!!! Thank you so much for talking about that. I don’t know why ppl are so unbelievably obsessed with fabric. I’ve never once used it in my life. As long as you put down at least 2 different sizes of rock/gravel/stone, preferably 3 different sizes, it WILL NOT move around and weeds will not be a problem. This design is genuinely impressive. Its VERY eye catching and has many, flashy, and picturesque “frames” everywhere, yet it shows so much restraint and is never overwhelming. As someone who has been doing landscaping and landscape design for a long time… I can tell you that finding the balance between a “filled in” design and overwhelming chaos is extremely hard to pull off and very rarely witnessed. This place should be in an educational textbook somewhere and should be the standard. I’m bout to watch it again.
I loved when you visited his garden and am planning mine like his. This garden is my dream garden!!! On my saved list, like his other, for easy reference. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for visiting his work of art.
Perfection. Loved the first part with the explanations/identifications and absolutely adored the 2nd part with the silent above view and then walk thru at ground level. Thank you for letting us be guests to this beautiful landscape.
Love it! Charlotte is full of incredible gardens, we had an Art in the Garden show last week and it was amazing. How wonderful that you had this opportunity to share!
Absolutely phenomenal. I could never afford a landscape like that but it sure is lovely to see, and glean ideas from. Beautiful house. Oh to have that kind of $$ !!
I grew up around fine Oriental tapestries. Maybe that's why I've always used the contrast, repetitions and texture in my designs. It's like painting or weaving with plants. Always more challenging because our pallets aren't static. Just a beautiful space, thank you for sharing!
Hands down my next favorite home tour (Gibberson garden in Athens is #1) along with the mountain home of the same designer. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for the incredible content!!
Such a sensational garden. Thanks so much for letting us tour with you, Jim! I could have watched this for hours! So many interesting plant combinations!
When I saw it was Jay I had to stop and comment. I haven’t watched the video at all yet. Just wanted to say that his other house with the barberry as a pop of color has changed my world. I’ve been on the hunt all season lol just loved that garden.
I love this garden! This is what I strive for my garden. I too love Japanese maple and I am in zone 9b California sacramento. And I grow all kinds of maples and conifers.
Thank you for this tour! Beginner gardener here soaking up the beauty and design ideas. And we just planted a juniper shrub “Old Gold” - exciting to see its cousin here. Appreciate his easy tips like placing a single stone as a “doormat”, using objects such as spheres in the distance to create sense of larger space. Beautiful tour. I’m inspired!
I hope I dream about this garden space tonight!! I can't think of any words to best describe this space - it took my breath away. Thank you, Stephany, Jim, Jay and homeowners.
One of your best, Jim and STEPHANIE. What talent to have this green garden. Texture, texture, texture. I watched several times and will copy some design elements in my gardens in CT. Thx, Jim and !Stephanie!
Nice houses on that street. It’s so amazing to find such a talented landscape designer who you can see eye to eye with who can get so much texture & color not using flowers. So well done!
Green is my favorite color. So nice to see so many varied shades in an interesting way. I especially liked the ending footage where we could virtually traverse this landscape. Man! That road noise is intense. The water features do their job masking it.
So much to love in this garden but one great element is the use of stone (or those fiber concrete balls) as transitional elements. I love those stone pillars.
An absolute masterclass in color and texture! I love the overall cool palette. It looks almost otherworldly. Amazing what we have been able to do with plant breeding; and yet, so many still don’t believe in evolution.
Definitely saving this one for future reference. I really struggle with putting foliage based plants together so this video is extremely helpful as inspiration!
I watched this twice thus far, back to back - thank you so much for a tour of such a gorgeous garden! I haven’t yet watched the previous tour and will look for it.
Wow! One of the most beautiful garden scapes I’ve ever seen. Considering how to add an element of this to an English cottage garden. Maples struggle in the wind here but how gorgeous to be able to have so many different varieties. Congrats to the homeowner and designer and thanks for sharing.
Good day Jim. You are added to my list of favorite gardeners! This by far is my favorite video. We are two years in our one owner new home. The landscaping was barely there. We are in progress! My heart just sings along with the awesome conversation you two are having. Very helpful and inspiring. The landscaping is stunning. Thank you for sharing! Kind regards.
I loved the fact that I didn’t see one flower! Well, there might’ve been few, but there’s barely any annuals in this garden. I love my annuals/flowers! So for me to love this space and have it hold my attention the whole video, says a lot! Stunning!!!
Simply magnificent. I paused this video so many times to study color combos, texture, light. A dream garden.
I paused constantly to write down the species..outstanding 2:20
Unbelievable beauty. Well done.
One of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen. Plants, hardscape, water features, house. Loved it all. Great camera work at the end. Wonderful tour Jim and Stephany.
Awesome design. A dream wonderland come true !! 😊😊😊 Please do more videos like this. 😊😊😊
Absolutely breathtaking! Who needs sunny flower borders when you can create something as tranquil and mesmerising as this. I also greatly appreciated the slow walk round at the end.
Wow! that is just beautiful! all the colors you really don't need flowers. love it! thanks for sharing. Genie : )
I especially liked the discussion about transitions between spaces. It’s obvious that considerable landscape design went into this space. I love it.
Also giving explanations of when horizontal fencing vs vertical will work better, great to know.
Wow simply superb!,
Color combinations of plants
Many Many thanks to Jay for sharing his amazing design sense - Thank you to the homeowner for inviting us to enjoy their lovely garden - and thanks to Jim for connecting us with these lovely talented people 😊
THIS is a dream garden to me... I love everything about it. Thank you so much Jim for this tour!

Well put! 👍
Dare to dream , I suppose. Only 1 plant is missing from this magnificent garden's video❤THE MONEY TREE😂. Thanks, Jim. That was beautiful!
RIGHT!
I keep watching this video over and over. I stopped long enough to go to my local nursery to buy some plants, and now I'm watching it again. I guess you could say you've inspired me! 🌳
Alright, Jay. It's time to start your own TH-cam channel! Your content would be phenomenal!
He does have a handful of videos up, see @jaysifford9419
He has lots of stuff on houzz
amazingly beautiful!!! thank you for sharing!!
This is such an inspiring garden! I will definitely be rewatching multiple times to help me plan out my own garden.
Wow! What an amazing space! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your conversation. The silent walk-through at the end was breathtaking. Thanks, Jim, Steph, Jay, and the homeowner for sharing this space with us.
I am blown away by this garden! The house is beautiful too, but these combinations of evergreens and foliage plants are just outstanding!
Thanks so much for that silent walk through the garden. I was thinking I’d watch without sound and then you did it for me. A wonderful experience!
Man that carex underneath that Japanese Maple is GORGEOUS 💚 Love the cool colors in this garden AND that horizontal fence. WOW!!! THANK YOU for this tour, so many ideas 🌳🌳🌳🐕
So much color and texture. He is a master
That was absolutely stunning. I truly enjoyed hearing the thoughts behind the design but also just wandering through slowly at the end. Spectacular.
The drone footage really let the garden shine. The walk thru was lovely....but somehow my brain connected best with the overhead vision. Such a pretty place. I guess the plants absorb so much of the street noises also.
The Garden looked perfect for a movie set. Magical and Intimate vistas.
Yes...absolutely magical.💖

Wow, the Japanese maple and conifer combos are so nice, what great textures
This garden is so relaxing and beautiful! Had a spa like feeling to it! Just gorgeous!
Excellent space. Thank you to the home owner for allowing the tour. I liked the walk through at the end to get a second look.
Wow, everything about this video is a 10! The design, the interview, the camera work. I’ll definitely be watching it again to jot down all the specific design tips Mr. Sifford shared. I especially liked his attention to transition areas in the landscape, which I find challenging to do well.
Deb here. Very considerate of him to allow the project evolve over time. The landscape designers I encountered wantt to do it all at once.
Unbelievable beauty Never have I seen such beauty Thank you for sharing
Jay's mountain property video always stands out in my mind as a dream landscape. And here again, this landscape is beyond beautiful. I could watch videos all day with Jim and Jay. Wonderful video as usual... I listen carefully to Jay's thoughts and incorporate his methods in my own yard.
He is a master of layering and texture! Thank You for the tour. Absolutely love tapestry !!!!!

In my mind, landscape fabric and sprayed popcorn ceilings are the two worst things ever invented. Kudos for not using it!
The textures in this garden is amazing! I love all of the different shades of greens too.
I’ve never seen a garden as beautiful as this one. Thank you for the tour. Wow! ❤
Big fan of Jay’s work and once again he does not disappoint. Thanks so much for sharing this garden tour.
I loved when you visited his garden and am planning mine like his. This garden is my dream garden!!! On my saved list, like his other, for easy reference. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for visiting his work of art.

Thank you both so much and Steph for filming. Jay once again you have shown us that live outside Charlotte your genius !
Good format -- we get the thoughts of the designer and id of plants then a quiet stroll to enjoy the flow.
Absolutely phenomenal. I could never afford a landscape like that but it sure is lovely to see, and glean ideas from. Beautiful house. Oh to have that kind of $$ !!

Amazing work ❤
Boy that’s a beautiful landscape there! I love all the colors and stonework that was done.👍😎❤️
Fabulous use of the space and the use of green. Thanks for bringing this to your channel
This garden is lovely! It also doesn’t appear to be a high maintenance type garden even though its packed with a lot of plants.
What a magically stunning garden. Just viewing is so calming. Thank you for sharing its beauty.
Fountain area is incredible. Great camera work at the end!
Amazing. Lots of great ideas.
Wow absolutely gorgeous my kind of landscaping conifers and Japanese maples Japanese grass ❤️ 🌲
When I saw it was Jay I had to stop and comment. I haven’t watched the video at all yet. Just wanted to say that his other house with the barberry as a pop of color has changed my world. I’ve been on the hunt all season lol just loved that garden.
Lowe's carries them and they'll ship to your house.
@@HunterTN I haven’t seen them in my local Lowe’s. I’ll have to check on the other ones. Thank you for telling me!!!

My faves: the front slope, the concrete balls and pillars, and the contrast between dark purples and lime greens…
Makes me proud to be from North Carolina!
Hello ❤ beautiful, garden, and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden. 🙏.
Wow, wow, wow!
Stunning! Foliage gardens are my favorite. They're so tranquil.

Amazing garden. I am a big fan of shrubs, Japanese maples and conifers plus a perennial here and there.
Nice!
