man I'm having so many thoughts right now! gonna need three paragraphs, and maybe I'll use voice to text for max efficiency! basically, good video! you said some cool and rad and based things here!
I feel like this was made because you need to talk about it, which I'm a big advocate for! also I'm a big advocate for exclaimation marks! everywhere! but anyway, 'talking about it', 'it', meaning anything, is a very therapeutic. like today I I did a lot of writing in my hands are tired so I'm using voice to text because I was complaining with someone on youtube comments about something petty then I wrote to my friend about it and while I was writing I realised the reason why I really long youtube comments/ replies is because I just really love writing, and so writing to my friend helped me realise that I just really love writing, so writings just really good for thinking, putting all your thoughts down and thinking about 'em! so because of my experience today, I can almost feel the, like, catharsis from your video. that's pretty much the end of this paragraph though.
this is unrelated, and could be a completely different comment, but palworld is really cool, like, how did a breath of the wild fortnite pokemon amalgam come to be? I don't understand how it hasn't been struck down for infringement or something. I mean I don't know the backstory of it, so it could be, like, officially licenced, for all I know, it popped into my life a few days ago on youtube and I don't know anything about it apart from that it looks cool, but it looks like it's got really great, solid, shooting mechanics, great movement, and cool world, it's like the creators just took everything that they liked about video games and put it in one. the one negative I would say about it is that it seems like it's not so cohesive, since it focuses on being so awesome at everything, like dark souls focuses on basically swordplay and nothing else but it hones it into a fine art, y'know? well I'm not saying that it's a jack of all trades but a master of none, because it seems like it's pretty awesome at everything it does, but what I mean is it combines a lot of elements from games and I guess I think it doesn't feel intertwined and/or focussed? or maybe I'm saying that it doesn't feel like it's own world, similar to how terraria's artstyle . . . ok this is a hard point to articulate, but when you play dark souls everything fits the theme- y'know what? I'm over complicating it. what I'm basically saying is that terraria and palworld don't feel they have their own worlds, not solid ones at least, like, I feel like it's hard to imagine something which won't fit in terraria, because everything would fit in terraria. guns and bows alongside magic swords, aiens and animals. apart from sex, now that I think about it. sex wouldn't fit in. calamity achieves the 'world' much better, because there's lore, therefore there are rules, therefore you couldn't just add anything to it. it would be hard to right fanfic for terraria without making your own rules. like, your character just pops into existence in a fresh world, you have to either explain that or just ignore it if you wanna write about that!
I haven't actually played palworld though, so I can't really speak about it other than spevulatively

Very interesting and thought provoking. Really makes me think about internalised purity culture in my own life. Thanks for sharing!

Not in the mood to write a huge whole thing. I just wanna say i appreciate you making this video, i appreciate your experience and that i wish you well.
Religion can be a lot of things. Its not good or bad. Its also not necessary. For some people it is, and that need could even be good or bad in itself.
The conversation is good. The sharing is good. Thanks for sharing your experience

I'd argue it is bad because it has no exclusive positives, I.e. there's nothing good that only religion can do, but it does have pretty extreme negatives.

What do you think is different is Europe compared to the US?
(I kinda hate how much US culture gets shoved onto me, so I am "punching back", it isn't much, but hopefully you start seeing another way, place)

When I said "eastern" in this video I meant primarily Asia, all I know about most places in Europe is that they're just as prude as the US. Especially places like Spain, France, Italy, and the UK

I hope you could read and reply to this comment, @SolarPellets
as of writing this I'm emotionally charged. I agree with most of your statement in the video about purity culture being prevalent to our modern society and how it abuses people and the destigmatization of sex but I don't agree with the statement that every content is "artistic" because I think it is more of its "intention" that makes a content artistic I say this because I come form a place where I struggled with Pornography and masturbation addiction but more on the former, In my perspective people use their bodies, or use bodies ( mostly female anatomy ) in a kind of way that abuses it maybe for views, money, and power, In my opinion that twitch debacle of artistic nudity will just be abused by people with bad intentions. I don't want to demonize the women who do it to gain money and I really understand it I just hope my feeling and thoughts came across in this statement. I just hate how it harms the viewer and the streamer because both degrade themselves: I don't know what to type about the streamer without making them bad but for the viewer it enforces controlling women values it trains the mind that women are objects also most of these viewer are male lonely high-puberty teenagers and its mostly society's fault capitalism and purity culture that endorses these platforms. But in my opinion sex and other sex related stuff need appropriate actions, places, and time in which these things can be use healthily and be better for everyone In summary I hate twitch and Porn or things that lets abuse and ill-intentions happen also I'm a mormon I'm aware of my church's history, controversy, and culture I don't agree with it. I just didn't like that you said we were terrible in the other comment In my opinion there is more to people than their faith. I want to add that most of my thoughts here are not yet refined I may have not said all my thoughts or its not yet well informed if you want to have a discussion I will be really glad to have to

Intention is irrelevant to art, art is a piece of work, some sort of creation, that has meaning. The meaning does not have to be imparted by the creator, and the meaning does not have to be profound. Titillation is very much a meaning that art can take on, whether or not it was intended.
Claiming that it's possible to "abuse" something to gain an upper hand in terms of art is weird. If it gets views in an honest way, that's not really abuse. If it says it's something it isn't, that's different, but watching a girl who is exposing her cleavage play video games certainly is not dishonest. Claiming that it's harmful to the viewer is also absurd, that's one step away from victim blaming and I encourage you to be more careful.
Claiming any type of intentionally erotic art "degrades" anyone who consents to being in the artwork is absurd. The vast majority of people are capable of seeing someone as both a subject of art and a human being. The only reason you think it's degrading in any way is purity culture, that's what the entire video was about. You only think sex as a category should be sectioned off because of purity culture.
I'm not claiming Christians are only their faith, I'm claiming they do disgusting things because of their faith. If they do something disgusting, regardless of intention or reason, they still did something disgusting. That's just as worthy of shunning.

So.. if it's fine to mock Mormons for polygamy, why not people who are into 'poly' relationships? Seems objectively even worse.

    • @solarpellets
      @solarpellets  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Mormons do polygamy, not polyamory, first of all. On top of that, they do it so they can have as many family members as possible for them to rule over in the afterlife. I'm poly because I love my partners. There's nothing wrong with polyamory, Mormons are just terrible lol

What do you have without your religion? It's your family, your routine, your laws, your guardians. Even if it isn't an antagonistic relationship, atheism creates a dissonance when interacting with solely theist circles, at least in my experienced. Or I'm autistic; Or both.
