I don't know if this was mentioned before on other videos, but Mike and Courtney match the tone of the various instruments to match the tone of her voice in each song. I think that is why it sounds so good. Also, for the first song they ever made The Beauty Of Suffering, i don't know of any other band where there first ever song was ever this good. Also, the drastic contrast between Courtney's various scream and growls styles compared to her angelic voice really add to their music. Soooo good. I've been addicted to this band for a while now, and i don't know if i ever won't be. Yep, i admit it. I have a problem. lol!
These are my two favorites from Spiritbox. The intense clean ending in the first and the intense growl ending in the other. This is also my favorite version for "The Beauty Of Suffering" but there is another for "The Mara Effect" that I like better : the "Live at Silverside Sound", can't recommend enough. I am going to see them perform tonigh, can't wait! Hope they play those, but with the amount of new songs they ve put out I doubt it.
Their current bassist Josh Gilbert who wasn't in the band at this point can sing and does during their recent live sets. Her husband and guitarist Mike has also started to add some screaming parts during their live sets as well. I don't know if you reacted to Mara Affect 1,2, and 3 live at Silverside, but you should. Their earlier music was more Progressive Metal. That last song on here was Part 3 of the Mara Affect. You really get to see her showcase her voice on that Trilogy. Also, i highly recommend the song Trust Fall by them as well.
The newest EP "The Fear of Fear" has 6 or 7 songs (can't remember off the top of my head) and every song has a music video! I see you've done Cellar Door and Jaded, but Angel Eyes is another heavy banger with fantastic groove and Ultraviolet and Too Close/Too Late have her ethereal syren cleans throughout! You'll love every single song!
"Her cleans... they just do something to me, man!" Mhmmm. You should definitely check out the more proggy 3 song live performance of The Mara Effect. It gives you an even different side of her vocals (the even higher register on Mara Effect pt 1 & 2).
