    I've had this adapter for a couple weeks now, but haven't installed it yet. It's a super cool idea.

      For sure, I did not expect the remote power on feature at all!

    That's cool.
    They need to make a dreamcast one.
    I may grab both in the end of the year if there available.

      @@dubesinhower that's cool. I guess the ribbin cable was for the best. otherwise these wouldn't be available.
      One dc doesn't work because of the ribbin cable. I hope that will fix it.

    I love cool mods like this and I really want to put it in one of my ‘Cubes, but I just have no use for it, other than the remote power thing. When I play a GameCube game, I want to use the GameCube controller. That’s part of the experience, ya know? I guess if you could power it on and off with a wired controller, I’d get one

      I mostly use my wavebird for GameCube games. BUT when it comes to the Gameboy Player, I'd rather have a retro style 8bitdo controller. So this mod is pretty nice. Not worth the price for most people.

    I've had mine installed for a few weeks, and it's mostly been pretty good (although I haven't really used it a lot). The issue that I noticed though is that the BlueRetro board seems to get quite hot when it's in the "Deep Sleep" mode, and it actually makes the front of the shell feel warm to the touch. So I'd feel a bit nervous using that feature for more than a couple hours without pressing the actual Power button on the GC. A bit disappointing since it was what pushed me over the edge to pay $95 USD + shipping and tariffs for this

    When installing GC shell on stock GC open the top when lowering it. it is possible to break clip on back.

    I just bought one of these, but Im wondering if the L and R triggers work as intended. I plan to use a Series X controller with this. Can you scan things in Metroid Prime 1-2, butt stomp or hold the spray nozzel in Super Mario Sunshine, etc.?

  • @electrohacker
    @electrohacker ปีที่แล้ว

    to use softshutdown on an xbox one controller press left trigger, right trigger, three lines button (start) and A. to restart turn the controller on and hold the sync button untill it tries to sync, the GC will sync and the light will go solid

    "Any computer running Chrome"... Does this include a Mac? Asking cause the TP-Link Bluetooth adaptor description only says it's down Windows. Anyone successfully connected to BlueRetro via Chrome (with or without adaptor) on a Mac?

    Has nobody made a wireless Bluetooth adapter that plugs into a controller slot? Same as the wavebird

    • @calebhohneke8482
      @calebhohneke8482 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are controllers with wireless adapters (I have tried a few), but they tend to be crappy. Stick drift, false input detection on the D-pad....blah blah blah haha. The typical stuff with knockoff controllers.
      With this mod you can use most bluetooth controllers, giving you an option for using various quality controllers. Your only "good" options other then this mod are shelling out the money for a Wavebird or just going wired with an official Gamecube controller.

    Well damn, that makes all my wavebirds obsolete lol, totally unrelatable, but I noticed you had a Gameboy expansion, and I was curious if you ever heard of them burning out the gamecubes internal power board? Or any other reason it would go out, reason for, I'm on my fourth one, and I would have no problem playing the system for several hours, i dont have any mods installed, its all oem besides the expansion, it is a Frankencube in a way, it has ntsc board and a Japanese disc drive which I heard is the same part and I run a carby, but I'll turn it off and on with no issues, however I would turn it off, come in the next day and the system wouldn't turn on again until I replace the power unit, and im petrified to leave a power cord plugged in when im not playing it, I have since also replaced the power supply cable with another oem and it has been plugged into a brand new power strip with surge protection, but ive never had an issue with any of my other systems doing this, I have asked other modders and I never get a reply on the issue, thought I'd give another shot

    • @SoberAddiction
      @SoberAddiction ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it just surge protection, or do you have line filtering as well? Its fairly standard on UPS systems, but you can set it to kick over to battery if the voltage goes above or below a certain threshold. This can get things that won't trip a surge protector.

    • @m80thebrawler1
      @m80thebrawler1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SoberAddiction my old power strip was ancient, the case was aluminum, had a push button reset, if it had any protection it was probably just an internal buss fuse, my new one however is damn near apocalypse rated, as for the gamecube power supply cable the old was possibly a bootleg because I didn't look like the oem cable, but after swapping the power board I'm petrified of testing the longevity of leaving it plugged in, I just don't see much on the power boards going out online except for changing the micro resistor on the board that I can't find any where
