Abuela's power is Casita. Notice how her room is the only one that is part of the house instead of it's own pocket dimension and how Casita can't "go into" the kids' rooms. That's because all of Casita is Abuela's room (her actual bedroom is actually a recreation of her old house she had with Pedro). When Mirabel put her own doorknob on the house she inherited Abuela's power and thus Casita came back. Everyone's powers are conected to their desires in some way. Antonio likes animal. Dolores likes gossip. Isabella is conflicted between wanting to project perfection and wanting to express herself, her flower powers would allow her to do both. And so on. Abuela wanted a home and shelter for her family and so her powers was Casita. Mirabel wanted to keep the family togheter and she and Abuela are the ones we see most regularly interact with Casita directly. Possibly the miracle intended for Mirabel to inherit Abuela's power when she first tried to open her door as a child, but Abuela's inability to let go of her control of her family prevented it.
@@Painocusi always used to think it was because she wiped her door after touching the candle before opening the dress, like the power went on her dress so she couldnt get the power😢
Mirabel doesn't have a gift because she "IS" the gift. She's the new guardian, but Abuela just could not let go. The day Mirabel's door disappeared, it was time for Abuela to pass the torch, but when a torch isn't passed, the only way is for it to go out and the next generation has to light their own.
I'm like 100% sure Don didn't notice, but in the "we don't talk about bruno" song Dolores actually talks about Bruno in present terms while singing "i can always sorta hear him muttering and mumbling" So all this time, Dolores knew that Bruno is still around in the house but chose not to tell anyone.
She didn’t chose not to remember what the song says? We don’t talk about Bruno so nobody would have wanted to hear about the fact that he’s still there and who would believe her? It sounds insane.
@@fumetsu-950 It sounds insane saying “Oh yeah my uncle lives inside the walls having parties with rats” but regardless even if that didn’t sound crazy she still can’t talk about it

You can make fun of me not getting a gift but yall ain’t finna blame me for anything and everything. It’s also saddening that Isabela, despite being the oldest still cowered in fear of Abuela
Yeah I think it’s more a cultural thing, cause for us latinos we’re expected to respect our grandparents and even if your own parents don’t always agree with them you’re mostly told to just agree and keep quiet so you don’t cause problems
Julieta, Bruno, and Pepa are the triplets grown up. They got their powers and the casita made a special room for each of them when they turned 5. The same happened with their children (except for Mirabel). Mirabel and Antonio shared a room because Mirabel didn't have a room to move into as Casita didn't make one for her when she turned 5, and Antonio hadn't yet turned 5 until the beginning of the movie. Abuela never had a tangible gift but did get a bedroom when the casita was created. She's also the matriarch and has a special connection to the house, which most people believe got passed down to Mirabel. Mirabel never needed a door to a special bedroom, the front door was hers. Julieta's and Pepa's husbands also don't have gifts, as they weren't born into the family, they married into it as adults.
It's kinda hard not to feel sorry for Pepa. Her whole life, she's been forced to repress and shut down any negative feelings for everyone else's convenience. She was never allowed to emotionally grow!
It's pretty f****** f***** that she didn't get a door that just showed the candle to show that she's the next candle holder and still has to stay in the nursery that itty-bitty room tiniest room in the house probably smaller than any of the bathrooms and she has to share it with a toddler
Mirabel didn't get a gift because, like Abuela, she's the source of the magic. You can't give magic to it's source. Abuela was originally the source, but when the candle went out, she was no longer able to power everyone's gifts. Mirabel is the new source and she restored the gifts. The state of the house reflected the state of the family. They were becoming fractured and separated, so when Isabela and Mirabel healed the fractures between the two of them, that also healed the fractures of the house. And when Mirabel and Abuela had that fight, it literally tore the house apart. The movie also covers what's called "generational trauma". An event that was so traumatic that happened to the older generation and the younger generations are still feeling the effects of it. Mirabel's real gift is her compassion. Without it, the fractured family would never have been able to heal.
Yeah that's not the way to phrase it my dude but yes considering he died right before the candle got the power that's always been my thinking his Spirit knowing he needed to protect his wife and triplet newborns went into the wedding candle
I think Bruno misinterpreted his vision of Mirabel. Every vision he has comes true. I don't think the Mirabel vision was an unclear fate; it was two visions in sequence. Mirabel was partially responsible for breaking the house (by snapping at Abuela), but she was also responsible for fixing it (by reconciling with Abuela).
I just now realized there are four men on horses that attack Abuela Alma and Abuelo Pedro. I wonder if it was on purpose to represent the four horseman, war, conquest, pestilence, and death. All of these are present in the real life events that inspired what happened to Abuela.
14:10 People theorize it's because she is going to be the next keeper of the house, taking over Abuela's role. Mostly because Abuela doesn't have a power / gift as well.
To clarify, this movie takes place in Colombia during the 1000 Days War (an intern conflict between two political factions). The isolated comunity of Encanto are the descendents of the refugies that abuela Alma and abuelo Pedro lead during the flashback (don't think too much about the genetic pool if you still want to think of this movie as a great one). It's an important detail because abuela Alma is always on the defensive of the comunity, and all of the gifts of their childs are seen as defensive mechanisms in case of an attack (you know, hurricanes, future sight, healing, superstrenght, super hearing, camouflage, and she probably would have gotten Antonio a belical usage of his gift of talking to animals if she didn't change by the end). She only saw the gifts as weapons to serve the comunity, hence the phrase "I lost sight of who our miracle was for", wich only Mirabel knew, as she guided Antonio, not because what the family expected him to do for the comunity, but rather what he himself wanted to do and be for and by himself. That's the value of family that the movie represents in a great way.
Pedro was, according to the writers, a poet who wrote broadsides against the political faction that destroyed the village. that is why they killed him. Hacked him down with machetes right in front of Alma. You can really feel the pain alma has at that. I don't recall any other Disney movie which shows such intense anguish and horror. It gets me every time.
My theory was that Mirabella's power was the house itself or at least her connection to it, which is why she didn't get a door. The entire house was her power, since it seemed way closer to her than anybody else. Also this grandma almost ruined an entire family with her expectations which is so sad. This movie was really good, but looking back on it, I wouldn't want to have a place like Encanto because with a living house, you basically have no privacy, and even if the house doesn't know anything Dolores, (the one with super hearing), will.

i like to think Mirabel didn't get a gift bcs she was chosen to be the next matriarch of the family like Abuela who also doesn't have a gift. "...they didn't even take her into the picture..." This one I always feel is wrong. It's a reaction I see a lot, but... I can sympathize with how it happened on all sides. This is a medium sized group. It's not so small that the absense of someone is instantly obvious, and it's not so large that you start looking around constantly to make sure everyone is there. Abuella Alma called for 'everyone', and everyone _except_ Mirabelle took it upon themselves to get into place. The only things they were checking was whether they were in the way of the people near them, they weren't checking the entire composition of the shot. Mirabelle was _expected to_ be in there along with the rest. At the same time, Mirabelle... _couldn't_ be in the picture. She was too hurt. And, honestly, _forcing_ her into that picture would have been more painful still. So while _she chose_ not to be part of the picture by her failure to move, I can understand _why_ she chose it. Overall, no one did a wrong thing here, as far as I can tell. What happened was the best possible outcome in a pretty bad situation. "...that must be ... annoying..."
People really misunderstood Bruno’s powers. He doesn’t see the future he sees possible futures. So nothing was really his fault is just that everyone just wanted someone to blame for thier misfortunes.
tbf even if he did see a definitive future, it still wouldn't make it his fault. knowing what's going to happen isn't the same as making it happen unless we're talking greek tragedies lol
@@crazymKat a possible interpretation of future sight is that by seeing a particular future you select it as the only future possible. Omg u would love the movies rio and rio 2!! Its about birds and soooo fun!!
think abut their abilities every single one is to protect them from another invasion... triplets- predicting the attack, stress slows the attack via weather & cooking heals injury... grandkids- plants can slow attack with vines stickers and poisons... hearing the enemy from miles off to know what they are up to... one can fight off like 10enemies at one one can impersonate an enemy to feed bad intel... the lil guy can have his animal friends defend his family
just think of if & when the sequel happens and some of the kids might be having kids
And the plants can provide food so everyone stays healthy.
People really misunderstood Bruno’s powers. He doesn’t see the future he sees possible futures. So nothing was really his fault is just that everyone just wanted someone to blame for thier misfortunes.
33:58 ah yes, a "Pinecone"
3:40 is that is that is that is that is that is that
The reason why she didn’t get a gift is because she wiped the magic off on her dress so that’s why she didn’t get a gift because there was no magic on her hands
react to bullet train you will love it
“The power to see without glasses” 😂
I’ve heard a theory that mirabel didn’t get powers because when she was gonna open her door she rubbed the magic off on her dress
Her dad and her uncle don’t have gifts cause they married into the family so they don’t get ones
came to your channel to see if you’ve ever watched this movie and you’ve just uploaded it 😭 great timing
the way that I screamed of excitement seeing the thumbnail lol
him calling it enchanto lowkey started pissing me off 😭
Pine Cone...? 💀
I don't even get how you can confuse them😭
This was awesome to see when came out on Patreon and i need to watch it again with youtube version cause its good movie
I don't know about anyone else but Isabela is my favorite character.
YOU GOTTA WATCH HAMILTON 😂

I love watching him when I come from school I wish I could met him irl
He really said Enchanto. I think you added an extra letter there lol
U got one fan from Malaysia right here ❤
Thanks for your reaction. Just on time, I would say: just wanted to rewatch this and here we are 😅
What if after the ending Mirabel is like the human version of the Candle because it burned out and because she brought back the magic ( sorry for bad gramma english is not my first language)
Did he just call a cactus a dammed Pinecone-
Bro that bird is a Toucan 😂
This guy can really make all of his videos just by recording a few lines he says and pasting it into every video
Ive been waiting for this for a long ass time my guy!!!
If you haven't seen the Toy Story films it would be a good recommendation. There are 4 films in total. Toy Story was actually the first Disney Pixar movie. It came out in 1995.
I have to say these are one of the better Disney movies
"...they didn't even take her into the picture..."
This one I always feel is wrong.
Bruno’s original name was Oscar but was changed to make the song better
24:10
Bruno got the moves💀
I’ve heard people pronounce it as EN-CAN-TOE, but never as enchanto
Less than 15 seconds in and Don already says the name of the movie wrong 0:14
People really misunderstood Bruno’s powers. He doesn’t see the future he sees possible futures. So nothing was really his fault is just that everyone just wanted someone to blame for thier misfortunes.
tbf even if he did see a definitive future, it still wouldn't make it his fault. knowing what's going to happen isn't the same as making it happen unless we're talking greek tragedies lol
Yup it’s like reading a book with a bad ending not knowing the ending doesn’t change the ending
@@crazymKat a possible interpretation of future sight is that by seeing a particular future you select it as the only future possible. So it is conceivable that if what he saw always comes true, that it is hs fault.
Not a productive interpretation of seeing the future but one that exists all the same.
@@captainslender12another true statement but any with time can get very complicated.
Another thought what if the house chose what Bruno saw and made it so that it would tar down the family to make it stronger.
No way they rebuilt the house in one day
They didn't. The beestings healed naturally over time, etc.
