In a "behind the scenes", the creators said the Wushi Finger Hold actually wasn't a real technique, rather it was just something used to scare students and wasn't supposed to do anything. Po just made it work somehow. This does 2 things. It lends to the movie's theme of "to make something special, you just have to believe it's special". Secondly, the fact that tai lung was terrified of it is a nice way of showing that despite being one of the most formidable fighters ever, he is still just a student.
Fun fact: This movie was so well written and so well researched, that China actually got a committee together to discuss why they were not releasing animated movies of this caliber. Also: All throughout the movie it is shown that Po eats whenever he is stressed or worried. By saying his is not hungry after all the training Shifu put him through, he is saying he is no longer worried or stressed about his destiny and embraces the fact that he is the one who has to stop Tai Lung.
@@KingJadonias Not sure if they made an entire committee, but yeah pretty sure some Chinese officials or film makers did apparently have some talks regarding the animated front of chinese productions and how Dreamwork was able to encapsulate the setting and culture of China while also being successful with their films. @@jameschristopher2540 Yeah pretty sure that is just a story writing issue. They keep remaking so many of their movies based on Chinese Legends that I am pretty sure that most people would prefer not to see again. They just need something new or to write an original story to shake it up.
This movie was such a, surprising, breath of fresh air to the martial arts genre. I love the reason that Po is able to defeat Ty Lung was because HOW he was trained. Ty Lung had mastered all the scrolls and lessons. The five couldn't beat him because he knew every move, countermove, and the counters to that. Po, however, was a complete unknown. His fighting style was, literally, just made up in a day or two, and was more chaotic than methodical. There is a saying, "The greatest swordsman doesn't fear the second greatest swordsman, he fears the worst." Po was too unpredictable for him to be able to combat effectively. Plus being fat, but strong offers a fair amount of protection to blunt force attacks. The fat absorbs a lot of the impact, while suffering less damage. The downside is that while you might be injured less, it'll probably hurt more.
That was a outstanding rundown on the first Kung Fu Panda Movie, and you even explained the theme on what they were doing for Po's character and development. Demonstrating on why this movie is one of the greats.
I really related to that quote from a fighting games background. At the peak of my abilities, some random girl came over to hang out, and beat me by spamming buttons.
“One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it” The very act of hearing that caused Shifu to send the guy to the prison, which caused the captain of the guard to get cocky, which caused a feather to fall down to where Tai Lung was imprisoned, *which gave him the means to free himself* That’s storytelling
On top of that, Oogway taking his time blowing out the candles was probably because he *knew* how likely it was that once he told Shifu it would mean things were officially in motion, and he knew he couldn't stop destiny but even he just wanted to hold it off a few more minutes.
Then again Tai Lung later fights Kai and loses to him. To then be brought back hopefully in kfp4 as a redeemed hero possibly. Whilst Po is looking for a dragon warrior.
Notice how when Po see's his reflection in the Dragon Scroll he says, "It's blank." But when Tai Lung sees his reflection, he says, "It's nothing." This really illustrates the mindset of the two characters.
I really want to interpret that as in, Po thinks it can be filled with something grand, something important. Meanwhile, Tai Lung doesn't see it as anything of any worth, no matter what.
Never will the conflict between Tai Lung and Shifu not hurt. The "Who filled my head with dreams?! Who made me train until my bones break?! Who denied me my destiny?!!" Hits like a meteor. Also when Oogway reject Tai-Lung as the Dragon Warrior, he felt betrayed by his own dad and thought his life has been dedicated to pursue an unreachable dream... He thought Shifu wasn't proud of him and ALL THESE FEELINGS were converted in pure hatred and sadness. Yeah. Tai lung only turned out the way he did because there's a fine line between Pride and Entitlement. Shifu didn't consider this when raising Tai and himself was entitled in believing his "son" deserved everything. Shifu literally raised him under the promise of becoming the dragon warrior. Telling him that he is the dragon warrior. That it was his destiny and instilling into Tai Lung the belief that if he is in fact the dragon warrior and entitled to it/the scroll by birth. That it is his entire life. Tai Lung when refused based upon Oogway seeing that entitlement in his heart. Could not accept it solely because he knew nothing other than Kung fu/dreams and promises of being the chosen one. And therefore was in his heart nothing but the dragon warrior. His entire at that point likely 20ish years of life were dedicated to it because of Shifu's promise and his love for his "father." fulfilling his belief that it must be true. So if he was not the dragon warrior that would mean he was nothing at all, and who could accept that if never taught humility? Shifu never Taught Tai Lung humility, or that you don't have to be something special to be special. He should have told him he was special because he is who he is. because he is special to him as well. But he didn't. All of this is more than enough reason for Tai Lung to be such an arrogant entitled nutjob after being refused. But The reality of it all is that What hurt the most was being lied to by Shifu since Shifu always said he was the dragon warrior yet never even stood up for Tai when he was kicked to the curb and told he wasn't That after all means Shifu lied to him his entire life in a sense. And he couldn't accept that either. The only option is that Oogway is wrong and he is the dragon warrior.. And the feeling of being "betrayed" by Shifu. Tai himself admits that Shifu doing nothing hurt the most. Shifu didn't even question the decision and hence made Tai Believe the only person who loved him and he loved, Had given up on him as well. And Now Tai was in his mind Entirely alone. Then he goes on a rampage that seems to have not killed anyone and is imprisoned for what would likely be his entire life. Or 20 years in this case purely based on the fact that he is a threat to the real dragon warrior. They never even attempt to save him.
Tai's What?! at the prospect of the scroll is honestly heartbreaking. People think Tai is prideful, And as much as he is. He is also in fact the opposite. He lashes out because the idea the scroll proposes. That he himself is special is an impossibility. Even though he believes being the dragon warrior makes him special. It's odd but it makes sense. Because this reveal means that everything he's done and worked for his entire life AKA Being the dragon warrior, is meaningless. Because there's nothing Special about the "dragon warrior" Since you are special. In essence. Anyone could be the dragon warrior.

don ur reaction videos keep getting better and better. and i think this is ur most liked video. i heard that kung fu panda 2/3 are even better. you should react to each kung fu panda movie. i bet it would be ur most best video everrrrrrr
Another interesting parallel here is that Tai Lung and Po both learned techniques that they were shown without training and got them right the first time. For Tai Lung, it was understanding Master Oogway's nerve attack that I suppose was forbidden to teach students. Same way with Po, he learnt the Wuxi Finger hold without it being used on him. Po has many similarities with the villains in the first two movies. What makes him better is his mindset and how he healthily heals instead of turning to vengeance as the villains do.
This is actually a reference to the Chinese work of art, the Journey to the West, or 西游记. This is because similar to how the Dragon Scroll transforms Po, and enlightens him with a blank page, the scripture the Buddha writes that 唐神 is supposed to pick up is blank, as symbolism to the heart and soul, and showing that you have power even the Buddha doesn't: Control over yourself and your destiny. Furthermore, the journey to retrieve the scripture can be correlated to the training for the dragon scroll, and the difficulties on the journey could be symbolized in Shifu, who didn't accept Po for who he was.
According To The 19:36 Moment Po Literally Showed Super Human Level Of Precognition And Seeing. I WAS TRAINING FOR 10 YEARS AND EVEN I CAN REACT ON THE SPEED OF SOUND + SPEED YEAH [I Literally Instinctively INSTANTLY Reacted On The Car Behind Me Even Before The Sound], But Even I Can Barely See The Speed Of Light In The Videos For Example.
Fun Fact: From The Point Of Psychology You Eat When You Are Upset Because When You Are VERY UPSET You Are Loosing Most Of You're Emotions Due To The Appathy And You Are Eting Because You Are Feeling "Empty" Basically Because You Can't Have All You're Regular Emotions And Feelings In That State.

that's crazy
That explains why Po renames the technique the next time he uses it.
They retconned it I think, or else kung fu panda 3 makes no sense
Nope, in the third one became clear that the finger hold is real, but was used to scare the students eventually everyone forgot how to really use it.

And well Tai Lung can choose other option to be good but I don't see it's Tai Lung fault that he become the Villian
Kung fu panda is a great trilogy of movies. The 2nd part arguably the best out of the trilogy
Kung fu panda the best animated trilogy ever
ONE OF THE BEST DREAMWORKS MOVIES EVER MADE
NICE thx for this reaction
There's three different reactions to the 'Po has a Goose Dad' reveal: 1) It's a movie about talking animals, so why not, 2) he was probably adopted, or 3) did Mr Ping sleep with a panda?
Fun Fact:
That Mountain Actually WAS The Real Birthplace Of Kung - Fu.
yes i’d like to reiterate the fact the TAI LUNG ESCAPED FROM A 1000 GUARDS PRISON, AFTER BEING IMMOBILE FOR YEARS
Can you imagine the cost, paying a thousand guards for one prisoner? Shifu is balling.
don ur reaction videos keep getting better and better. and i think this is ur most liked video. i heard that kung fu panda 2/3 are even better. you should react to each kung fu panda movie. i bet it would be ur most best video everrrrrrr
btw kung fu panda 2/3. po is overpowered
17:20 I see Avatar The Last Airbender has had a lasting effect.
Po's Durability Is Insane.
He Can Tank Canon Explosion Into Himself And He Still Will Be Alive After That.
This movie is like shrek where there are jokes and memes about it but it's actually lit 🔥
SHREK next, part 1 and 2 are honestly amazing animated movies
ngl forgot how clean the animation was for the fight scenes
Don Townsend, the villains get better. 10/10 reaction for me.
This trilogy is PEAK, I hope you enjoy it
Shifu and Tai Lung have the same reaction when seeing the blank dragon scroll for the first time
Wait you have spent how long of your life without watching this classic
That "I'm not hungry" was referencing how he eats when he is stressed.
This definitely proves you live under a rock bro how can you not seen this movie before
I can’t believe a lot of people are just watching kung fu panda, even though it came out a while ago and it’s a great movie
Fun fact: Oogway is literally just the Chinese word for tortoise.
Subbed for the next 2!
9:29 pov you are caseoh
Love the vids brother keep it up also got a new anime for you too react to it's call mobilesuit Gundam iron blooded orphans one of my favorite animes
00 is one of the best in my opinion
so basically if the messenger hadnt gone to the prison, our guy would still be in a shell
What makes him better is his mindset and how he healthily heals instead of turning to vengeance as the villains do.
i like how everyone just accepts the fact that Po disintegrates Tai Lung
Bro the Wuxi finger hold gave you the hiccups that’s hilarious
aint no way it your first time watching this movie dude im hyped for ya lol
Ah yes kung fu panda is legendary
"I'm not a bog fat panda. I'm THE big fat panda."
He's HIM
love any black British accent yours definitely near the top
Kung Fu Panda 2 has the best villain of the trilogy imo👏🏾
Kung Fu Panda 2 is even better than the first one. I highly recommend it.
My Man Called ti lung Ty lee
This guy when he sees snow outside: Oh, thats cold!
my mind right now: "The legend speaks of a LEGEND, where the Kungfu Skills were the SKILLS of the LeGeNdD-"
Yes! The trilogy must be seen
One of the best trilogies of all time.
Such a great movie please watch the second one, makes me cry every time iykyk
When are you reacting to the next marvel film?
Btw great video 👍
According To The 19:36 Moment Po Literally Showed Super Human Level Of Precognition And Seeing.
I WAS TRAINING FOR 10 YEARS AND EVEN I CAN REACT ON THE SPEED OF SOUND + SPEED YEAH [I Literally Instinctively INSTANTLY Reacted On The Car Behind Me Even Before The Sound], But Even I Can Barely See The Speed Of Light In The Videos For Example.
Po saying he's the big fat panda was just it's morbin time but raw
Fun Fact:
From The Point Of Psychology You Eat When You Are Upset Because When You Are VERY UPSET You Are Loosing Most Of You're Emotions Due To The Appathy And You Are Eting Because You Are Feeling "Empty" Basically Because You Can't Have All You're Regular Emotions And Feelings In That State.
25:55 exactly bro
This is one of the most goated movies please do 2 and 3 tooo
Shifu is actually having fun
I don't think anyone would ever guess that like po, master shifu is also a panda a red panda at that
