The base of the velocity stacks is where you have highest air velocity, and you kill it with a mesh filter. Filters should be on top of your velocity stacks. Sure it doesn't look as good as having them exposed, but you have to. Maybe put some sock filters, but a caged filter like pipercross is best.
Never seen filters inside the velocity Stack before.
I think that is because they trash air flow so don't do much for performance

Deeper-pitched 4AG is what it sounds like to be honest. Probably because it has 400cc more displacement than the 4AG.
