  • Collecting firewood with the tractor forks and carry all today & cutting up some of the trees I took down along the field edge. This really tested the Kubota L3901 lift capacity with the loader and 3 point hitch. A full carry all of green oak is really heavy and will barely lift with the 3 point arms.

Nice work! Nothing better than spending some time outdoors and playing with the tractor!

That L3901 is a workhorse! Great job.

Tractor looks like it handled the load easily. Having a nice counter balance makes the tractor more stable and I'm sure more comfortable for you to operate.

Specs say 1131 pounds, but I've lifted over 1500lbs easily. Machine drove fine wasn't leaning or anything. Love my L3901

I love how you’ve been editing your videos lately! Your going to be able to retire with all this wood your preparing to sell! Forks are handy for moving logs. Have a great week.

haha. I don't know about early retirement, but am looking to increase firewood sales this year! Thanks for the compliment. Glad you're enjoying the videos. Take care, Ben!

Nice job. If you have far to carry, it definitely makes sense to have wood on the front and the back to maximize your trips

Got that right! The tractor is not a speed machine and it takes a lot of time driving from one side of the property to the other.

Phil looks like the carry all makes a great ballast, I'm hooked with hauling logs back to the shed and processing them there. I got about a cord processed Saturday cut split and stacked in the woodshed.

Good idea with the different prices. When we lived in N.Y. oak held a premium $.

Nice to see a man who knows how to buy a properly sized tractor lol incredible to see all the little 25hp (unregulated to be fair) tractors being forced to do 40-50hp tractors work. Then the forums overloaded with "how can I get more lift or pull or stability" lol yeah to be fair I was born and raised on a farm but wtf how do these guys not see this shit coming? The dam tractors too small for the work you're trying to do. I say this for the guys buying the fully loaded all decked out Deere's Kubotas with FEL, Backhoe, heavy duty bucket, grapple, rear blade all which are great but man was the sales man that good or was the guy that clueless?
Dam fine video anyways man. And that's an excellent setup your running. My Deere obviously has to when needed but my carryall is on her more than anything. Turns our tractors into pickup trucks.
And man you gotta get yourself a dam 3 point splitter, they all work but honestly I'll never look back. Our tractors pumps are far stronger than most and the tractor moves it around also raise and lower it wherever you need it. Hell I've seen a tiny little tractor run one idk what it was strong enough to pop big hophornbeam truthfully. And that's the hardest dam thing I've ever split, legit I could watch my I beam flex at the wedge (granted not a lot) when dealing with that stuff. Neighbors splitter an older one tho got stuck twice in it so he gave up.

Lots of nice wood, besides the Gum. I separate my wood by species as well.

I don't mind the gum for campfire or fire pit wood. I have mixed it in a little bit with mixed hardwood firewood loads, but don't try to send a lot of it out. Its a really abundant tree in our area though, and I'm working to clear them out of my property to give preference to higher quality hardwoods.

Moving logs like that is fine when you are moving them through a field. My problem is I have all woods. I must drag the logs or bounce off trees. Also just a word of safety. You have that load way to high.
