Incredible, what a monster! I feel like I'm watching Jurassic Park. Such an amazing sight, to be on a golf course looking at one of the largest alligators in the world, or possibly the largest gator. Looks like he's just out for a leisurely stroll to a different pond.

I wonder how fast that thing could run, because if it's slow I'd be tempted to try and ride it...
I think it can run pretty fast
It doesn't run on land that fast, the smaller and younger ones would be faster. However, in water it would catch you easily if you weren't extremely careful. Also, I wouldn't attempt to ride it unless it was extremely tired. That tail will whip so fast to knock you off your feet or put you unconscious. I'm pretty sure you can guess from there what that mouth would do to you.

Alligators are pretty slow on land so a human can easily outrun one, but if you get too close they can lunge/launch themselves forward in a quick burst to catch you off guard. One that big would easily be able to tear off your arm or leg. Gators may not be able to run well, but they have lightning reflexes so stay out of reach.
