How do you determine the gender of the frogs ?

The best way to know for sure is that males call and females lay eggs. There are some other methods too. In short, females are usually slightly bigger. For tinctorius, you can look at the toe pads (google up some comparison pictures), for thumbnails, females have a more pear shaped body, etc.
