Almost 80,000 there that night!! I traveled from Indianapolis,Indiana to Paris, France for that concert!! I have been blessed to have heard Phil Collins in concert! I am now 74yo. And remember it like it was yesterday!!
This was when we had musicians that were master's at their craft. Thank God for TH-cam so if you're too young to have lived it you can still experience it. Phil Collins was the drummer and lead singer for the English rock band named Genesis formed in 1967. I remember very well because it was the year I graduated high school and I loved rock bands as well as many other genres of music. 1960s, 1970s, 1980s was rich with talent. Enjoy!! And yes my brother.... We did get moist !! 😂😂
My dude, Half, I'm a 39yo straight dude, U.S. Military Veteran, beyond happily married for 18 years now and I get MOIST hearing those instruments and that drum solo drop EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I hear this!!! Btw, I've been watchin you two for years now, and I love you guys!!!
Phil Collins is a drummer...Thats what makes this special, he is a drummer who can sing and write, so he is able to actually express the emotions through the drums, from his heart, they both beat..
It makes me smile when I see younger people getting so excited about the music I was lucky enough to grow up with. I'll be 58 in December, my wife and I saw Phil Collins in Grand Rapids, Mich. around 2004. Hey, next time a concert you think you'd like to see..Just DO IT! You will not regret it, Cheers mates.
Have you ever felt something coming....like an invisible storm the atmosphere is heavy you have exert effort to breathe..line drawn in the sand....day of reckoning. This music translates that emotion perfectly.
Phil said in an interview "I wrote the lyrics spontaneously. I'm not quite sure what the song is about, but there's a lot of anger, a lot of despair and a lot of frustration. He wrote the song amid the grief he felt after divorcing his first wife in 1980.
@@teknotony "I've seen your face before, but I don't know if you know who I am" always made me think it was about him someone cheating with his wife, not knowing that phil knew, and then trying to be all buddy buddy with him when he met him - phil's "seen his face" by knowing he's the type of guy to try to two time and lie right to the husbands face, and the guy "doesn't know who he is"
That's why I go see all the live music I can doesn't matter if it's a local band it doesn't matter if it's a little hole in the wall bar I go see all the live music I can and support because that's where it's at
It always amazes me how Phil can drum that hard and sing that hard at the same time. One is hard enough to do at his level. To sing and drum simultaneously at Phil's level though? It's almost inconceivable.
This masterpiece is proof that good music touches hearts no matter of age! For those who don't know details about Phil Collins: he was born in 1951, an English drummer, singer, record producer, songwriter, and actor. Collins is considered one of the world best, accomplished artists. Between 1982 and 1990, Collins achieved three UK and seven US number-one singles in his solo career. He said that story of this song (only a story, mind you, not reality) is that he saw the guy his wife cheated him with drowning and just stared while voraciously taking in the revenge. It's the song of a strong passion, the hartred taking over the soul.
This is the only song that I've seen reactors give a standing ovation for lol..he nailed that. That's about as close to a perfect performance as you can get
Phil Collins is one of the greatest underrated artists of all time. He is what people like to call a true artist.
