Well John I jus had to giggle!!! 30 yrs I spent under the hoods of them cars I was the vette guy at the dealership I worked at ..... they ain't all that bad after u have done about a million!!! Glad to see the struggle is still strong!! Side note. assumptions are the mother of all fu**ups
so what happens with these factory late 80s through the mid 90s electric fuel pumps is the people that own them were never told that your fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in your tank so its in you best interest to keep the fuel level over half instead of under half tank so in the summer time in south Florida most owners would just never know to keep the pump under the fuel level and the pump will last for a long long time , i have a 1990 chevy truck with the original pump 34 years young when you buy a new pump you will be replacing it every three years or so
Imagine laying your hand above the cap and rev the motor then that plug wire reaches out to you like “gotcha bitch”, that would end my day of owning a Corvette😂
We once had a know it all kid who started working for us, so we asked him to hold a spark plug wire to check for spark lol it was pretty hilarious. I've been zapped a ton of times
That fuel pump relay thing is confusing, been there done that on my C4. At first I thought this was just like mine, but mine was what I call flaming aids blue. The color was about half way between white and Mike's jeans.
When you own a repair shop this is the nightmare that happens sometimes then the customer blames you for the bad pump somehow and wants you to pay for the repair
The 10 amp fuse just triggers a relay. If I remember correctly the supply side of the fuel pump relay is powered by a 40 amp fusible link near the master cylinder.
I just was running my lips when I didn't realize the lines were different....lol.... I just assumed the lines were different sizes..... I mean fords, you cannot screw it up....
The TBI trucks have an extra oil pressure sender. If it doesn’t see oil pressure within X seconds it kills power to the fuel pump relay. I don’t know if the Corvette has this or not.
Why is it that it's always som1 else doing the work on the cars n it dnt matter if it's ur car there car or y'all car together john never doing non-work just holdn camera n talkn after he messd whatever it is up from the jump. I'm just saying n wants to know why is it like dat wit u bro . But y'all keep up the work n go racing
LOL, you a clown bro.......... Why don't you come hold the camera while I'm working next time.....lol Or am I supose to hire a camera man so you can see me working, or say hold up guys, can you film me working on the cars too? Get out of here........
Come on now man stop with the bs Turbo John is always helping others and you can't hold a camera and work to I don't know him personally but I would bet money if the camera ain't rolling he's in there elbows deep getting dirty
Mike an awesome standup friend!🤩🤩
Yes sir, I was gonna do it at my house but he told me that was a bad idea.....lol
And I love the C4 body style
It’s amazing when you’re surrounded with good people
You better have good people around you if you are driving 80's Chevy junk lol...
love you John keep doing what you do

enjoy your videos, I have a 89 vett that runs 8.80s hope you will show stuff i can do to go quicker
The Corvettes are still the best bang for your buck you can buy them dirt cheap now❤
It’s way better to change that fuel pump there in the shop, then to be stuck on the side of the road somewhere
True story, I mean it is super old....lol
Been there all we have to say is "Corvette life" hahahaha. Big GM guys here. But run,,,,,run while you can..lol. 😂😅
🎉🎉I STILL SAY YOU GOT A GREAT DEAL ON THE VETTE 😅😅❤🎉
Im jealous that fuel pump assembly came out so easy. My 92 the bolts are froze lol
They could have made one line female and the reverse other one. Nice work gm.
You got you Jean shorts and white New Balance ready?
lol, I just said that earlier today....

Save the old pump now, it still works.

Thank Mike for saying that the ‘84 doesn’t have a pulsator - mine is an ‘84.

10amp seems kinda small for a fuel pump?

Going to race it
maybe some road coarse stuff
Tune up time!
I just got done saying, your a driver on the weekends and a post man during the week, I think you got enough jobs
Leave the pulsator out, the gas flow is better that way 👍
Thats all the reason to make it a tube chassis. Make it easier.
Lol shit happens. Great friend!
This is why old cars suck to work on. Just chasing the next weakest link🤣
Sparks
Don't feel bad about the lines reversed. Lately there was an airplane with hydraulic lines reversed.
Ouch, I mean I wasn't paying to much attention because I just ASSumed that the lines were different.....lol
@@TurboJohnRacing i know but at least is wasn't a airplane that actually flew.
It only primes for 2 seconds but has a timers before it will allow it to prime again.
That sock was dirty.
The silly mistakes we make when we are talking and doing too much other stuff to focus on the job we are doing. Happens to the best of us.
I just was running my lips when I didn't realize the lines were different....lol.... I just assumed the lines were different sizes..... I mean fords, you cannot screw it up....
These days, I always test new electrical parts, before installation.
It happens

Need change the injecters next….lol
I bet Kelly's honda accord could take this car, lol...... Might be a good vid
That was a spark.
That’s probably only one c6 you have to drop tanks not fun at all
A C4 Corvette for a drag and drive car? Not looking to set any records, huh? 😁😁😁
Yeah, it's slow.....lol... I think mostly autocross or road stuff with Chase. But I guess it could get my small block.....oweee
34 years
Crazy how old it is......I'm stuck in the past....lol
