  • 2023 Can Am Outlander 700 and 500 First Look Review plus 700 X MR, Pro HD7 and HD5. After just 7 model years, Can-Am is replacing the excellent Outlander 450 and 570 with the new 2023 Outlander 500 and 700. Of course, there are a bunch of trim levels within two usage specific designs, the all-around work and recreation focused Outlander and the more work or hunting focused Outlander Pro.
    Nearly every discernable specification that matters is class leading with the new Outlander 500 and 700 and Outlander Pro HD5 and HD7 with the exception of their retail prices, which look like they came from 5 or more years ago. Compared to the departing Outlander 450 and 570, the new 500 and 700 certainly look to deliver even more ATV for the money, but is more always better? We hope to find out in the near future so subscribe for more.
    For now we'll take a look at what the new Outlander 700 and 500 have to offer and see how they stack up against the specifications of the Honda Rancher, Kodiak 450, King Quad 750, Grizzly 700, Sportsman 570 and others.

    I guess honda, suzuki, kawasaki, and yamaha all knew their displacment and frame set up as well as suspension was just perfect, cause here comes Can Am and Artic Cat following suit again. I am glad to see these manufacturers doing the same things and creating a competition amongst one another. Maybe we will see some price drops now. Cause honestly it all boil downs to all we want as consumers is a fun, capable, dependable machine with easy part access. I think that 700xc looks kinda good, and I like the storage options.

      I seen a different video today, they were showing a few of them at some show. It was the hunter edition with the storage options and accsessories, and a close up of yellow 700 xt, the Red 500 and the hd model with gas can and chainsaw attachments. There still kinda high in price though and dont come with winches except for the xt but u pay more for that. Plus they are heavy like the cf motos. The good ol grizz and king quad are lighter but **** they want too much. Plus the suzuki dont come with a winch either. I own a 2016 grizz, a 2019 can am outlander 650xt and a 2021 cforce 800xc. Kids took over the grizz and can am and wife wants her own ride now instead if riding double. So having a hard choice deciding. Thinking for the price and what u get with the cfmoto I may go that route again. We have had nothing but good luck with ours, and my friends also. And maintance is easy. I wanna find her a good 500cc to 700cc that aint gonna put me in the poor house. Lol. I think about used but I have got burnt going that route once or twice so figure get her a new one she deserves to be the one to put the first scratches on it.

    Definitely good to see them offering affordable and seemingly capable options. Also, they seemed to address the 2 biggest complaints of outlander owners now. Engine access and heat. Storage is nice too! Selfishly I was kind of hoping for a sport quad or a 55 inch wide renegade 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol

    More suspension travel, ground clearance and a leader in hauling and towing ratings. We're not sure how we feel about the same engine at two different price points, but other than that, if the performance lives up to the specs, the new Outlander 700 and 500 models should be pretty awesome. I have a dps 500 with some bumpers and minor accessories. It's very impressive overall. The suspension travel is insane for a utility quad and it doesn't lack any power. Even when towing or riding with a passenger. I recently recovered a snowmobile 10 miles up a mountain in 2 ft of snow. Low range proved to be awesome for low end pulling power and the front locker did its job well keeping us on the trail. I've put 300+ miles on it and have zero complaints. Good job can am. Ps- I've had grizzly 660's, 700. Can am 1000 ( earlier models) and lots of mid sized Hondas. And the 23 can am outlander 500 will not disappoint.

    650 outlander 62hp
    650 outlander ….50hp.
    It’s hard to bet against the Uber quality of the kingquad 750, grizzly 700, as far as singles , even though they are slightly higher . I do however applaud can am for offering a respectable price ! I do think it will force the better built Japanese brands to adjust slightly . I like can am ….I have an X3 SxS . Traded the last atv (sportsman 1000) on my current KingQuad 750 (2022). It’s hard to beat the silky quality , light weight , nimble handling combined with respectable power .
    Overall they are definitely good machines , but I just feel moving away from what your known for (punching ABOVE your respective class in power) is questionable.

    Nice overview of the new models. I dont think they are terrible looking, I do like the look of the projector headlamps. My take on it is they streamlined they're model lineup and cut costs by making 2 "different" models that essentially use the same engine and drive train, and all they have to do to make it a 700 is cams and the tuning, it's smart from a business minded point of view, but we'll see how the customers take it.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching period I believe we share very similar viewpoints on these machines. Different horse powers using the same engine has taken place in their side-by-side lineup for some time but it's going to be interesting how consumers deal with it in the ATV market.

  • @ProbeGT2
    @ProbeGT2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Soooo, getting the 700 means you're getting ripped off because the atv could cost 800$ less since it's the same engine (i don't believe for 1 second the different cam profile bullshit)
    And getting the 500 means you're getting ripped off because the engine you paid for is supposed to make 50hp.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or you could just say that the manufacturer makes an $800 larger profit if you buy the 700. It's a little strange, we agree. That in mind will take the extra 10 horsepower for $800. It will be less hassle than swapping cams, installing a programmer or getting the ECU reflashed.

    @davidxavier2739 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This seems like a huge downgrade, the previous 650 and 570cc were V-twin Rotax engines. These are single cylinder, loose horse power. The 570cc was 48 hp vs 500cc 40 HP // 650cc was 62HP vs 700 is now 50HP.
    Are they more fuel efficient? A 2018 570 Outlander base model would get 22.7 mpg when cruising at 35 mph over variable terrain of fire roads loaded with rider and full loaded with gear near max for front and rear racks. Other than a slightly increased ground clearance, ~1" wider, 3.7" longer, and 1" shorter I don't see much of a difference. Other than the bodywork.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't really feel cannon was trying to replace their own 650 with these machines. It's more like they were trying to conquer the entire single cylinder segment. The 700 may very well have better bottom in the power then the 570 dead which will make it better at pulling. We think we will miss having a more compact model in their lineup though.

    The content here is good. But I had hoped Can Am was going to discuss something REALLY new, like an active suspension, etc. I have two complaints about the presentation:
    1) Too much distracting music: The background music is too LOUD and plays too much of the time. It's an annoying distraction when trying to listen to what's being said.
    2) Too much echo: The narrator sounds like he's in a cave or a confined room that lacks acoustic damping. Software and/or a good microphone can easily address this.
    P.S. I own two Can Am 800s and a new Polaris 1000S, with tracks for both Can Am (Camoplast), and Polaris (Mattracks). The Camoplast work better despite a smaller footprint.

There a whole aftermarket world for the 570 with extra parts ect and now their starting from scratch, with a single cyleder that makes crap for power for its displacement and and a ton heavier and is going to sound like crap. Also you can put a 800 crank in a 570 and a bbk and you can run them over 900 cc's! Also I never heard of anyone complaining about the 570 motor being unreliable

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is much less expensive to produce a single cylinder engine than a twin cylinder engine with twice as many parts. This allows them to reach a better price point. No matter what the 570 used to cost, the price of everything is going up.

      We certainly doubt that it's going to be the death of the 850 and 1000s. On the contrary, we're wondering how long it's going to take cannon to update the 850 and 1000 with specifications better than the new 500 and 700.

    I think the issue I see is that I don't get what they are trying to do with this. I do like the integrated chainsaw holder option.

And I'm not looking to mud, just peace of mind in mud/water crossings. And at this point one would think stealth snorkelling would be standard across the board.
      But in any case, the customizer doesn't allow adding the snorkels as all other ATV/sxs's can on their site. So I'm curious about that, plus if you have the snorkels and rad relocate do you lose the saw option.
