  • Toyota brought their entire AWD lineup to our hometown of Park City, Utah and asked us to come try the Camry in the snow. On a road and on a snow-cross course, we discuss the Camry's success, it's pros and cons, and the details and benefits of the new AWD option.

See. I really hate that thinking. If you made a v6 awd. I would be willing to bet even more people would buy it. I know I would... That's the ONLY thing holding me up from getting one. I want the v6 WITH the awd...

Less than 6 percent of owners want the v6 😂 im there but I get it, for that mpg the SUVs hit the spot

I have lived my whole life in the northeast and mostly owned smaller fwd cars. Sometimes did well with Excell all seasons in the snow. Never had a problem with fwd nd snow tires. It's actually fun to snowdrift and correct with a sporty fwd and snow tires. Of course there are situations where having AWD, great snow tires and ground clearance is optimal. But usually that is off road, heavy blizzard situations. Which BTW was the only time I got stuck in a 4Runner! BTW pt. 2: If I want a performance Camry I'd buy a Lexus F Sport sedan.

Actual review starts at 2:39. First couple minutes is just them showing that Toyota paid for them to go on vacation.

Would love to see an AWD Toyota Camry vs Subaru Legacy vs Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord comparison 👍

I'm switching to a CUV not just for AWD, but also ground clearance. I don't want to have anxiety about driving in heavy traffic, in heavy snow (1-2" per hour), and getting stuck in stop and go traffic on the highway ramps or at a stop light on a hill. As I sit there on the ramp wondering where the plows are, and then see the plow truck stuck in the same traffic 20 cars ahead of me. It may not happen more than a couple of times a year (though we seem to be getting those heavy snow rates more frequently), but when you do, you really want that reassurance when heading home from work that you're going to get there steadily (if not quickly). And, when I get there, not having to worry about my side street or driveway not having seen a plow yet.

I tried those ones, I don’t like the blind spot caused by the headrest of the rear seats! And it’s not removable!

The rear quarter view at 11:16 is very reminiscent of Lexus. Coincidence? I think not!

I love you Toyota (and Lexus) , but those front grills on all your product line is getting out of hand. I think I would paint the bottom part the same as the body color to reduce that giant black hole in the front. Any thoughts from the people watching this?

Just get a regular Camry and save your money on this AWD and slap a set of Nokian snow tires in the winter you will have the same traction in snow as this vehicle with all season tires

Speculation, North America is getting a corolla sports hatch, no confirmed engine or drivtrain, I'm not getting my hopes up.

All video footage i see of this car in snow sucks, painfull amounts of understeer is clearly visible, but toyota isn't going to let their paid reviewers say that. To be fair I haven't driven one myself, but video footage makes this car look bad in snow.

Last week I took a 4 hour drive through a significant snow storm from NH to CT. The highways and roads were very bad, but the Camry did extremely well. This is my first awd sedan as I have previsously owned all Jeep Wranglers. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it performed in heavy snow.

      Shut up.
You don't know how to drive.

A bias towards understeer is to be expected in a mainstream car. The all season tires don’t help matters. Engineering the car to allow for power-slides would be fun, but it would miss the intended demographic. Toyota made the correct choice here.

Hows the gas mileage vs the non awd?

    • @lecruset
      @lecruset 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

My 2020 SE awd is getting 36 mpg on highway and 32 city according to the little graph in the car.

One of you looks like the offspring of Buffalo Bill and Agent Smith from Matrix. I'll let you guess who it is.
