What would be an ideal GR Camry for me:
- LSD (front and rear)
- Supercharged V6
- Manual
- Better brakes/tires/suspension
- GR-Four AWD system
you’re getting this exact thing next year. 2023 GR camry leaked to have these exact specs
That's a silly ask from this car. It's a camry not a Supra. Why not just go buy a car in a higher segment that was built with this type of performance and feature set in mind? You'll be happier than trying to bootstrap a bunch of mods on a car that was made to be a grocery getter. The cost of such a vehicle wouldn't sell because with the money you're spending, the interior and other items still feel cheap.
Do people really care that much about high resolution in backup cameras? As long as it is clear where objects are, do they really need to be incredibly detailed?
During the day, it isn't as big an issue, but somewhat grainy resolution during the day makes for awful visibility at night (when details really matter). You could miss an animal or dark object if the quality is low.
@@lxmezy5246 it does matter, drive many cars and ones with clear camera are significantly safer than grainy, especially at night
If they made this AWD and gave it 400hp this would be something serious
Zero market for that type of car which is why the 471 HP V8 Lexus GS-F w/ RWD was discontinued.
@@speakingtruths4215 i think if they were to do that it would put them in the market as in the M3 and some other sport sedans. If this were to go to an AWD platform and be fuel efficient and after Market friendly it would have some comp
@@speakingtruths4215 No no no no. It is not that there is no market for high horse powered sedans. it is not as strong as the rest yes of course. However, it is not the reason you think. PG literally said what everyone like me who drives sedans wants. Moderate to high horse power between (350-450) with AWD sedan. Here's the problem you can only get that if you are in a higher tax bracket or you put yourself in debt. You stated the Lexus that yes no one wants or anything similar because guess what. Its RWD. no one wants a sedan with all that power and it doesnt comes with AWD. thats just dumb.
I’ve had performance cars my entire life and can honestly say I’ve been the most content with this car. No car I’ve ever owned had less than 350ish hp except this one and I have no desire to sell this anytime soon.
Really Im the opposite I never drove spot cars before and after owning the camry trd I just wanna sell it and get something serious like a rc350f sport awd
This isn’t a performance car this is a family sedan with a body kit
@@fatboysolutionsinc.1022this is true but for its class it’s got some of the most impresssiev performance which is due to the street bars
@@fatboysolutionsinc.1022 exactly bro. That why I don't understand why people claiming this a sport car. It's minor mod upgrade to sport car. Then you have these same people clowning someone for have 4-cylinder or v6. It's the same car with a little better horsepower. That it. 😂
Wow you are doing a great job doing a review of my favorite car 😀
This car is underrated. Toyota needs to launch this in the UK.
@@DaytimeNightmare sedans are for moms pal. Especially a Camry. You see these kinda Camry’s on the road an the majority are chicks driving them with fake diamond license plate holders. at least that yaris gr is 2 doors an is way lighter than that heavy mom car camry. An its a legit rally proven car. The camry TRD is just a camry with glued on aero an a power increase. This TRD camry looks an blends in with any other big body sedan out there. Nothing cool about it. Unless u a mom or teenage girl.
@@DaytimeNightmarethe performance of the Yaris is nuts what are you talking about 💀 I wouldn’t trade a TRD Camry for it bc we have the GR Corolla which looks beautiful compared to the gr Yaris
best review I've seen of the TRD, specially the canyon driving !
When he whispered “I tried” (to clean the rims) I felt that
I just got mine a month ago got it for sticker price same spec and everything it’s a cool car to daily drive turns head and has enough speed for fun. It’s a Toyota not a race car the suspension is crazy nice I love it. Cool car over all it’s just a fun daily
have you experienced driving it in heavy rain yet? I’m thinking about getting it but the FWD is pushing me away a little bit for the safety of it
It looks beautiful man
Love your camera work. Smooth and very vivid. I appreciate that. Do you get rear cross traffic? It wasn't in the list at Toyota.
these 2022 toyota v6 are soooo much fun
That's an undeniably nice looking car. Especially the side profile looks very nice, well distributed proportions. Looks planted. I don't know if Toyota got a new design team but their latest generation cars look great. I would gladly own this car and the performance is fine too, I'll take reliability over mind bending accelerations of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. They should add USB ports in the back, replace the glossy plastic in the middle console with matt plastic, and offer an AWD version with the next version
I love my 2019 XSE with red interior and all the other bells and whistles. The 2.5L 4Cyl. is quick enough for me and the car is great on gas.
This color is sick !
Just got mine in in love
I own this car, I took it to the Tail of the Dragon and had a blast. Only thing I can say is doing a lot of hard braking (literally hours of it in the hot sun) overheated my brakes, but they went totally back to normal after I parked for a bit and I had no other issues
@@MH-im4oh yeah a Camry. After blowing past every Camaro Honda GTI Passat even the old man in the vets don't like to keep up once the curves come and everybody that is seen my exhaust and nothing more follows me as far as I can to ask me what kind of car that is

this is my dream car
i drive the 2022 corolla and if the brakes are comparable then yes, they work fantastic
It's a huge missed opportunity for Toyota not to base this on the XSE and go with SE instead. That interior is terribly lacking on features.
@@ohAlanho you heard right. I mean if you want to go with the luxury appeal just go with the XSE V6
That is not a missed opportunity Toyota put the performance model into the LIGHTEST model of the Camry which makes sense for a A car about handling a dynamics
Great reviews and test drives 👍💯
S63 amg cabriolet please😊
I love my 2017 Toyota Camry LE. I bought it for $15k new. Now it has 155k miles and drives like new. Best year Camry hands down. TRD is overpriced but so are most cars today.
I really considered this but went with the EN for performance/feature balance. Seem's all the stuff you want are in the XLE/XSE but you lose out on the TRD lol.
In my opinion my 2022 Camry XSE v6 has the same engine but with way more features and honestly I’ll take the XSE over the TRD every single time, I get red interior seats and a panoramic roof, and a bigger dashboard display, also includes the JBL upgraded sound system built in and comes with seat warmers and allot of other details that I love
Couldn’t agree more; the only thing that makes me wanna trade my XSE in for a TRD Is the cavalry blue color 🤣
if you could get an xse in cavalry blue with the exhaust of the trd and the rear wing and side skirts but not the front splitter it would be perfect, and the wheels and tires of course
@@wellhungfish I'm having a hard time deciding between the trd and xse with the trd appearance package. I like the features of the xse but it just doesn't look or sound as good as the trd
Nice car and such a quite affordable price for those entire engine 👍
like how he says fake vents with confidence
Ah! You shot the footage in Tustin Ranch/Irvine. It looked familiar. 😊
I wish they had a coupe!
For the Camry, take of traction control. And shut off a few of the sensors. You’ll get that 0 to 60 slightly faster
Also don’t mash the gas at once. Put it in sport mode and gradually press the gas. Otherwise you’ll spin the tires
Perfect hood luxury
I had to make the decision between the XLE and the TRD I took the TRD with the jbl package. Mine is a 2022 i test drove both and felt a difference with the TRD not sure how true it is but the head tech at Toyota told me the TRD is tuned completely different and has better brakes and suspension. Again not sure how true that’s what the guy from Toyota said. But the exhaust and look of the vehicle is far superior and the only downside is not having a sunroof and heated seats which tbh I can live without.
Mind me asking bro for your TRD with the JBL package how much are your payments ?
its true, im looking at getting a gray trd for 38.9k after tax brand new. i just love how it looks so much vs the normal camry and its the only v6 sedan. better resale value and longevity
I wish this car was sold in that dark green that some Lexus SUVs have. If the car had a lsd it would probably be the best daily driver car a non-wealthy enthusiast could get. This Camry and a project car or a motorcycle is peak dad life for that sort of guy.
Ngl, this feels more of a camry se with better speakers, red stitching, and a v6 with an exhaust. For the price difference, shouldn't it be more like the xse?
It’s just ok. I don’t have the TRD version by the XSE instead and I’m sure the difference is negligible if any at all. It has a nice boost in acceleration when you need it but its such a heavy car. It’s definitely for cruising only and not for racing.
Add the turbos from the sequoia add and add electric motors and give it awd then it would be one beast of a machine
All I know is this TRD is sick on a race track I did a ride along and the car is sick fast
Nice reasonably priced commuter for the casual enthusiast.
Would love to see a GR Camry using the V6 but give it a turbo or a supercharger to put out 400hp and the drive system of the Corolla GR
Great looking Toyota, however body trim closest to ground as splitter or diffuser shouldn't be in glossy black plastic at all, gonna look as * after few hours of driving during harsh weather.
I love gas so much this will never going to end
They gotta make a coupe outta this bad boy
Just curious, what canyon road is that? That’s a cool little road.
I think the turbo 4 in the Lexus would be a great engine for this car. Less horsepower but way more torque.
but the 3.5 is just all around amazing, i see your point but it needs to be more of a drivers car than a replace it with a turbo 4 like every other car for "performance"
@@smr0m670 the accord destroys the camry in performance, there isn't anything wrong with a 2.0t
@CakeFladudle there isnt anything wrong with a good naturally aspirated v6 either.
@@CakeFladudle not even tuned 😂😂, i just watched a video off stock vs stock, honda got dogged easy. Those 2.0t are overrated af boss.

We need a TRD Pro Camry
Can you do a cls next miles?
It would most likely need to be a used model because the CLS is probably going to be discontinued. I can try!
I got anxiety when you were driving at the canyon.
The lag on that screen is typical Toyota - years behind the time.
Nice
There's a company put there that makes an LSD for the Toyota products. Only twist is you have to send the differential from your vehicle and reinstall it.....
just would like to say that I've owned my 2022 Camry TRD Cavalry blue with JBL system for a month now and I absolutely love it I would see why people would prefer the xse with all these vanities such as sunroof heated seats and other commodities but I looked past those things personally and saw a truly unique car and Driving Experience now hear me out the TRD isn't a super performance car I would invest in a Supra or a Civic or even a muscle car if you want performance not to say that the V6 engine in the car is disappointing because when this baby wants to go she'll fly not to mention the way she sounds when she starts up and drives is absolutely amazing. when I went to the dealership they had tried to offer me and XSE many times even us to go as far as to tell me my car would take me six months to acquire if I wanted a TRD (mine arrived in 3) even so when I first saw the TRD it was love at first sight the absolute uniqueness of owning this car will only be for a select few not to say that it's a multimillion-dollar car but it is a special car only a few will get to drive. wherever I go my car turns heads and that makes me feel absolutely amazing so far I've been the only person in my area to own this vehicle which also makes me feel even more unique on top of knowing that I'm the only person owning this car at the moment. I've seen plenty of xse Toyota Camrys to the point it reminds me of how often I see Corollas, all-too-common of a car anybody can own an xse but only a few will own a TRD, the xse is an obvious pick for people who want vanities with their Camry not to mention the xse is a great-looking car but in my personal opinion the uniqueness of the TRD will forever be the holding point in MY OPINION from its dual tone paint and its aggressive look, gorgeous black leather interior and the exclusive Cavalry blue color no other camry could compare. But again that's my opinion
Yes, i got my 2022 calvery blue trd as well, i agree with everything you said about this car. I love the fact that i dont see ANYONE with this same car.
@@kidviper2006 so do i! I did find my twin about a week ago but I don’t mind it seeing one more doesn’t hurt
I had a supersonic red/black 2022 V6 xse and ended up trading it for a 2017 392 challenger. The camry was an amazing everyday car, but for me personally I needed more power lol
I really want an upgrade in terms of horsepower. I have an 18' Sentra SV and it's slow.... Not even half the horse of the Camry TRD or Accord 2.0T. But I wouldn't mind trading my Sentra in for a used Accord 2.0T or Camry TRD, and it doesn't have to be the newer models, it can be 2017 and up.
I got the pearl white, and this color is beautiful! Yes the wheels never stay clean or look clean also !! THESE ARE ROCK MAGNETS already had to replace the windshield, and the new one got chipped not even 2 weeks later . It just needs a little more power and a tad bit louder exhaust. Other than that I love my TRD Camry
Waiting on my 2023 , hate they took away this color for 23, but the underground grey still looks nice
Ugh I wish mine had the JBL upgraded sound and larger screen. Anyone know if Toyota can upgrade it for a cost?
I’ve owned this 2020 gen Camry for two years now, it’s a great car but the interior rattles very hard during summer heat. Couldn’t drive this car daily without an insulation + sound deadening package.
I have the exact problem with my 2020, it’s been rattling ever since I got it not too long ago
I drive a 21 Camry se and it’s very quiet, they might have solved that issue
Yup snap crackle pop while driving around like smashed plastic bottle coming undone
You don’t realize that Toy only cares about the bottom line?
All their cars are cheaply made, especially the interiors.
Does it come with car startup?
I thought you would compare it to the Sonata N-line and the K5 GT
Is the OC canyons? I sort of recognize the area
I have this exact car in my showroom right now. LMK
dat dashboard killing me in 2022
one of these Turds thought it could match my rs3 today...all I can say is yes this car is very slow
good price.
my grandpa is mad cuz he spend 40k on a 2024 camry trd and loses to my 02 mustang gt that i just bought
Turn traction control off next time get the full power worth it
Why the scratchy plastic in the back doors and no armrest on such a long car!!! Also can you get a digital drivers display as and option??
Lsd 6 speed manual all it needs
Serious car buyer qurstion, what is better performance and speed wise between Gr86 or camry trd. Also does the gr86 have enough storage being a 2 door to do daily stuff like shopping, beach trips, all that stuff
I own a TRD. 86 can drift and is rwd and can handle tracks. The trd is only fwd so it cant handle turns and tire spin ruins any takeoffs. The TRD is a flop. Get a 86. Or save up and get a awd lexus and never look back.
@@ohnobo14 thank you for the reply I ended up getting a awd Camry se thing handles mint and still has power

TOYOTA MARK X GRM 3.5 SUPERCHARGED (MANUAL) IS STILL THE KING
Guys, I'm shocked with American car configurations. There are no rear air ducts, hard plastic in the doors, no heated seats, glass, rain sensor, auto light, and the like. But there is v6 and jbl music, cool. In Russia, all this is in the most basic car, except for v6 and jbl, this comes from medium configurations
I'll stick with my 17 Camaro 2.0 turbo 6sp. imo.
Imagine making such a cool car... and it's a FWD.

I think I like the tame styling of this, but I'd probably still choose the elantra n over it
Didn’t really use the paddle shifters 😢💔💔
Every time I see TRD my brain throws an extra u in there, and it feels like they're labelling buyers turds.
This does look like a nice car but its still relatively slow. I have a 2010 accord coupe v6 and it hits 0-60 in 6.1 which is basically the same as this new engine lol.
Manual or AT? Trim level? Have you messed w the VCM system? Could probably hit it quicker than 6.1… roughly 4400lbs gvwr I believe on that year, could be I’m thinking of sedan tho.. 😂
@@chrismcdonald3212 just look up the specs it’s an 2010 HFP accord coupe v6 in auto. The auto hits 60 around 6 seconds and the manual is around 5.7. I have a VCM delete on the car so it avoids putting it in VCM and stays 6 cylinders all the time

Looks nice but feels weird to see sport camry
That’s why I chose my 19 xse Camry over the trd. I’m getting a hybrid xse this year.
Lol cars in the 90s people were like "doesn't come with a limited slip diff?, i'll just buy an aftermarket one" Now people are like, "welp, car's no good."
There's quite a big difference between a factory-developed LSD and an aftermarket one (that, by the way, would void any warranty)
Still have no idea why the plastics in the Camry looks so cheap (especially the texture design they used).
my problem with the Camry TRD, is the FWD open diff. the V6 alone is a good start, but because of the FWD, it feels like a midway between the XSE and the SE models. even just giving it a basic fulltime AWD 50/50 split would give it a much better chance.
ironically, it wouldn't stand a chance against even a VW GLI, in terms of anything, including performance, and features. the GLI, sure, has 220Whp, but at least it has an LSD on some trims, as with the GTI. the 2.0T EA888 motors are reliable and powerful, well tunable thanks to the turbocharger, and boy can they boogie. the TRD camry is heavier set thanks to that V6 weight, and you gain very little thanks to it. granted, we all know that if Toyota really wanted to, they'd do a GR version, likely doing the GR4 AWD system, and in all likelyhood, completely revamp the powertrain. but in all honesty, is it too much to ask to at least keep the AWD system from an XSE in the car and perhaps the LSD? like... please?
like, once again to compare it to VW's 'fun' tier GTI/GLI, the 7speed Dual clutch automatics are fantastic and again, easily tunable to have lightning quick shifting. while the 8speed in the camry is alright, but it cant compete with a dual clutch at all in performance, or anything really. a dual clutch has all the convenience of an automatic, but the performance of a manual.
an ideal Camry TRD, if i was gonna go true performance mode... it'd look like this:
-any AWD system (like the XSE already has would suffice)
-twin LSD
-Dual clutch automatic. (or manual)
While that me right, the 8 speed it spec'd to handle 500 ft lb of torque. I have trd camry and the 8 speed does the job, while primarily issue is the lack of helical lsd.
As a toyota fans this is the reason why toyota vehicle is going to be more expensive in the near future 🤦🏽♂️
Must have fog lights
She’s high performance but lil breaks
is it just me or the fuel gauge moving too quickly😂
im so sad i cant buy them in europe
I rented an XSE V6 last year for a road trip and could not stop with the acceleration. It was so addictive.
