Heehee. Ria you’re talented but the aunty from Trinidad who flipped that bake in the pot has some serious talent that can’t be touched 😀👏. Am so jealous of her skillzzzzz 🤪
Gosh the time and effort you've put into to making a video that shows tradition and innovation and short cuts! Fantastic! Thank you ... I'll certainly be trying this out 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, thank you. I was talking with my sisters about how to make these delicious bakes. My nanny used to make the bake. I had no clue how to make them. You are absolutely the best Ria. Blessings to you and your family. 🙏🏽❤️
I truly appreciate the level of detail you provide in your videos. I am just now learning to make Trini food now that I am an adult with kids of my own, so they can enjoy the foods I grew up eating. Thank you so much. I plan to make this with saltfish today!
Hi I am trying all ur recipes so far my first was d sponge cake. Hmmmm delicious I always make it every Sunday one for me an my sister som tms I put som glazed fruits an raisins .Thk u as I hav tried d bake already came out perfect
Awwwwwww Mrs. Ria, you're soooooooooooo sweet and kind. Your words bring tears to my eyes because people don't realise that cooking is an expression of love. My mum and I were talking about when we were growing up yesterday. Man i grated so much coconut as a child, even cutting my finger. So much fun memories around food and games. I love me some coconut bake, I'm going to do that too. I bought and seasoned my pork yesterday fresh from the butcher's. Thank you for your love and keep safe please. Have a great weekend, sending you lots of love from England 🙏🏽❤🙏🏽
It is indeed an expression of love, as moms even though we are feeling sick we are still moved to go and make something for the family to eat. It is truly a labour of love!
RIA, hello, it’s been awhile, this is something I had never seen before ( JAMAICA ). but it surely reminds me of bammy, . this will take me some time to try , we are still wearing masks here in NJ can’t go ANYWHERE without one . Same in NY , I believe , one night this week I’ll make your curried shrimp , only thing I could not find this time is ‘culuntro’ shadow dense to you Stay well my dear , thanks God Bless,,, cheers🇹🇹🇹🇹🇺🇸🇺🇸
Ria I want to thank you sooo much for this vlog, today it seems like people have forgotten how to make REAL coconut bake (aka pot bake) I don't like oven bake to me it's bread (same texture) pot bake is it....that is real bake....thank you for reminding us what real bake is. 👍🏾❤️😊 Plus real bake taste better after a day or two...if it last that long.🤭🤭 The only thing I can't recall seeing you do was yes it with the fork, something my mom and dad always did.
I was craving this, I've never made it before but RIA to the rescue! It definitely satisfied my cravings. Yummy! Now I need to learn how to make bread. Do you have any simple straight forward bread recipes?
Hi Ria I’m a super fan of yours super I love this recipe however I wanted to know where can I purchase this white pot please if you can recall let me know!
I really appreciate your videos Ms Rea. I have leant so much from you, thank you. I need to know this, if I can’t find fresh coconut, can I use canned or cream coconut? Thank you so much
Yes. Think I showed that method on this video as well. Did you watch till the end? Here is another baked version: th-cam.com/video/Y-iwQF6ick0/w-d-xo.html
Hi Riri I'm going to try this with the frozen coconut. I prefer the thicker bake. I have a gas top stove. Should I cook it on a low flame? Have a good night and a wonderful weekend.:)
I love cooking with Ria and even though I love traditional styles I must say @ 3 minutes I fear I would have my hand in a bandage on the way to E&A so thinking ahead I would bandage my hand holding the coconut in advance...so no E & A. I agree there are times when I’me in the mood for messy cooking when I have a house full of enthusiastic, cultures grandchildren as helpers planning to invite their friends for a meal.🙃😜😔🤙🏿
Oh my word...now I am feeling for bake and smoked herring😅😅thick or thin it is perfect👏👏

I used the oven option, because I’m used to fluffy bake. But I didn’t make enough… It was gone in 15 minutes! Thanks again.

I haven't had this in years
😢😢j😢always enjoy watching
Just how. Y Tammy made it ty
Can we use the food processor n just use the hot water after? I don't want to grate any coconut
Only if your food processor will make it very fine and smooth or else you won’t be able to extract all the milk.
adorable Parrot Bird
Hi Ria yes me and my family is doing good bye.
Can you use grated coconut and freeze it before..to save time
Yes you can
Do you know you can still use the squeezed out coconut by adding some sugar to it cinnamon and make sugar cake
I don’t use it because I know that I’ve squeezed out all the delicious flavor from that coconut, but great if that works for you. 💐👍
If the dried coconut has water, I save and drink it, lol. No waste!
Where did you buy the pot?
How much do the recipe make?
4 or 2, up to you.
Can I use cow ghee
Anthony O'Connor I don’t see why not-as long as you like the taste of it.
Perfect melted cheese 🧀
Oh yes!
I wish I could find a wide shallow bowl 🥣 all the ones I find are too tall and narrow
Watching you friend
Eating with Jell Thanks for stoping by!
Pot bake!
The baked version, do you divide the dough or is it just baked in one? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say lol. Love your recipes BTW. ❤️
Te Hilla B Hi. Thanks! I divided the dough in two equal pieces. Hope this helps. 🌷
Every thing for you is pep

Common sense always prevails cut the coconut and blend it IN THE BLENDER COMMON SENSE no need to make simple things seem complicated
Did not work for me. Raw in middle and dense. Not soft. Maybe yeast was dead.
Like. 3. Better
Bake
Nice, but too much work. That would frustrate me no end. You have a lot of patience. Real labour of love for what you do.
Peers recipe
GOD girl good coconut water gone waste, always save mine to drink, never cook this , sure look good
