Sailing to Northern Norway 640 nm (from the Faroes) - Sailing Free Spirit

- Join a live aboard family as they set sail from the Faroe Islands and sail 640 nautical-miles across the Arctic Circle to the town of Bodø in Northern Norway. Along the way they'll experience everything from calm seas to near gale conditions, even having to deploy storm tactics to see them through some frightening seas.

I had a similar experience on that same route a few years ago. We got hit by a squall just as we were entering the harbor in Bodo. Got completely drenched!

Why the German flag on port side? Nice video thanks. Great journey.
Many thanks! We are all dual nationals (British/German). Though the boat is registered in the U.K. as indicated by the Red Ensign flying from our stern, the German flag on port side shows that the crew has German nationality which, post Brexit, is hugely advantageous when travelling abroad in Europe and any Schengen country.
@@sailing-freespirit Ok thanks. Yes I thought so. I also fly my Cyprus flag on port when I enter other countries while my stern flag is Danish.
640 NM in six days is very respectable sailing. Your clothing and the latitude suggest that it is cold, but just how cold? The occasional temperature would be of interest.
