- Nikhil Kamath, one of the co-founders of Zerodha, started his first business at the age of 14. He and his friend Tejpal bought and sold used phones, but when his mom found out about this little hustle, she flushed them down the toilet, in an effort to force him to re-focus his attention on his studies. Her efforts were in vain though - Nikhil Kamath ended up dropping out of high school to make money. He joined a call center at the age of 17 using a fake birth certificate, and started earning 8,000 rupees per month, some of which he began to invest in penny stocks. And he was good at it! By the age of 18, he was known in his family as a stock trader, and so his dad, believing in his son’s abilities, gave him some of his savings, and told him to manage it. Then his manager at the call centre did the same. Soon enough Nikhil Kamath was managing the wealth of his entire team, and this experience prepared him for what he would end up building later in life with Zerodha. Using the skills that he learned from managing other people's money, he would co-found Zerodha with his brother Nithin Kamath in 2010.
In 2022, Nikhil Kamath participated in a charity chess match against five-time world chess champion, Viswanathan Anand. To many people's surprise, he won the match. However, Nikhil Kamath later admitted to defeating the chess champion using unfair means and apologized for it. While some have called this an act of cheating at the game of chess, others understand that the game of chess was not a serious one, and that both Nikhil Kamath and Viswanathan Anand agreed in advance to throw the game. In other words, some people believe it shouldn't be considered cheating, while others do believe that Nikhil Kamath was cheating at chess.

Mad respect! He also learned that cheating is bad at the tender age of 33. My 5 year old cousin is sure that cheating is bad but Nikhil awesomely waited till he was in his 30s.
your 5 year old still doesnt what money is...please grow up..
But your cousin doesn't matter
how long would it take your cousin to earn 1250 crores in profits? ☠️💀👌

@@debasishdash7575lol no it's him
He is the indian edition of a catch me if you can protagonist
He already had a rich family to back him up , so most of the hard part goes away just bcoz of this , no offense , and yeah i admire his hardword and smartwork also he didnt become so rich just coz of luck , it was his efforts and sacrifices too .
Explains him dropping out. A middle class or lower middle class cannot afford doing this. Not just your future but the future of your upcoming generations is also at risk.
No that's not true actually I know those people . they were of the most humblest background. His mom used to teach Veena to make a living and dad had a decent job . he was a rebel and went against them
True then he defeated vishy anand in chess too 🤣

Do you find kamath ass so tasty that you can't help butt defend it.
That was a Charity part exhibition match, kamath was guest and major donor of covid donation, should he tries such shit in professional setting he'll be banned no questions asked.
But that doesn't change the fact that kamath in insecure about himself, and wanted to show fanbois of his like you that he can play game of chess
That was a dishonest act of cheating , he he must be criticized for that.
I see lot of drop outs make unbelievable Achievements....❤❤❤
Fake birth certificate, cheating against Vishy and the list goes on 😂

Alphazerodha
My son asked me to guess how much Nikhil had studied. Without batting an eyelid, I said till 10th standard?
My son then asked me how could I guess so accurately and so fast.
I said it’s obvious from his words. He is so poor that all he has is money. And i meant that respectfully.
he dropped out of College not from high school,he was in the same college as his elder brother NITHIN kamath, unlike him his brother completed his graduation and then later on they both started ZERODHA,College name-Bangalore Institute of technology(BIT)
Now feel like useless myself 😂
And now he cheats against chess grandmasters in charity matches

But he doesn't mention the same in his "WTF is Bengaluru" video. He said his parents never knew about him selling phones.
He is self made, thats enough to appreciate him
Also he cheated in online chess
I just know him as a cheater and that too a dumb one. 😂😂😂
Complete BS... Thats the story they have been putting out.. Also another story is they during the 2008 financial crisis these schmuks were short on the market and they won big... Both are false I have been tracking the 2 brothers since 2012 been talking to people close to them... the younger brother is a dunce... And they both lost most of their trading capital in 2008 then they became brokers for reliance cap. Now they have changed the story to... Oh we were so smart that we beat the market

wow such a true story, NOT xD
Nice
Bro's got the rizz
I feel like useless
I say this in the kindest way with utmost respect for nikhil , pls do Not glorify dropping out of school or discontinuing studies, that too at such a rudimentary level of education. Education is very very importnat, I can say this a million more times if I needed to. Its very uncommon for anyone to achieve big if you lack basic primary education. In such rare instances such as Nikhil's, its worked out innhis favor. Dream big, strive to fulfill your dreams, but dont neglect your education - dreams and education are not codependent, you can have both as both are equally important .
Flushed phones😶..itne to mere papa bhadak jaate, toilet block ho jaega..
Use common sense. The cellphones cant get flushed in toilet. Wouldnt fit in drain and would cause clog.
He’s worth 2bil now
That feel really bad, I at 19 age still not confirmed what to do in my life.
Don't worry Nidhi, you'll find your way. I also had no idea what I was doing at 19 😂 I was miserable at that time in my life, doing college because my parents wanted me to, with no excitement or expectations for the future. -Caleb
