Hey Tayllor, I was in Jozi back in March of this year and the people and the country stole my heart. I had the time of my life. I'm actually relocating there within the next few years. I'm actually going back in October. You're so right about all the reasons to relocate there. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Btw, great video. Much blessings and Ubuntu!

I feel the same way, brother. After visiting SA for the past 16 years now, I’m finally making the move tomorrow. The relationships with beautiful people that God has blessed me with are amazing. There is a strong network of AA also that I have connected to in SA. Let me know your dates in October🙏🏾✊🏾

We don't not even notice African Americans here until they start talking, you guys just blend in perfectly as soon as you arrive. Hopefully you will visit SA again in future or even immigrate when time is right.

One of the overlooked aspects of jhb is that it borders two other metropolitan cities ie Pretoria and Ekurhuleni (which is where Johannasburg international airport is). I completely agree with you wrt career opportunities in Johannesburg but its also in commuting distance to Pretoria (the capital city) and Ekurhuleni which is a major manufacturing hub. Many ppl work in pta and live in jhb and vice versa. Ditto for jhb and ekurhuleni.

I moved to South Africa more than 15 years ago. South Africa is Awesome! Another thing that Joberg has over Cape Town and that’s the weather - especially in Winter…..Cape Town is a like England wet and cold…….It gets gold in Joberg too but it’s cold in the morning and at night but during the day a long sleeved T-shirt is all you will need. It’s also and dry and sunny….In Cape Town gets most of its rain in the winter (they need it - water shortages are common in Summer). They call the Winter Wind “the Doctor” in Cape Town and not for no reason….it makes you sick (that’s South African humor for you) 😊. Have a great time living in Cape Town you’ll definitely love it but yeah Joberg Rocks!!!!

I remember when Macdonalds was introduced in the late 90s, many SAns couldn't stand the taste. Same goes for Burger King.

I'll be there in less than two weeks visiting the most special woman. ♥ (she is from Durban) 🇿🇦 cannot wait. I'm sure I'll be able to check out CT soon enough too.
An observation on the melting pot. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it works there in that regard. People use the term when speaking about🇺🇸 , but what I find here is even though we've got everyone, it is definitely not so much of a melting pot. It's just co-existence - small pockets aside, people mostly all go about their days and move in their same circles, they encounter different people in the short-term, and then everyone just returns to their own home base, their own safe place, their own "tribe" at the end of the day. It makes me sad knowing what it could be instead.
PS - KFC in Palestine 🇵🇸 is dope too, and I don't understand it. The only downside is over there they give you a hamburger bun in place of a biscuit. Yes.

I hope you are able to get your children into great schools. Good luck to you. I think you'll find the people to be wonderful. However, there's corruption among the politicians. Electricity only works sporadically. .. You're right about American people being only focused on money... And the food in the US sucks! Onwards and upwards.. Good for you making this commitment and I'm sure you'll love being there going forward.

Welcome to the motherland.... you are very right , you only forgot the nice weather , the people and the good service , I've been living in SA for 23 years and l can tell you that everyday you see something new to motivate you especially if you are living in Jozi. Please when you come back take a road trip from Joburg to Durban , you will see the beautiful landscape and so much on the way.. the people of this country is the reason i can't consider moving to any other country... i traveled allover , even right now im traveling carribean ,spent already 14 months here visiting each iland for a month but nothing here that wanna make me stay ,,, just for older people who want to retire in a small place.

I'm 64 years old, not young but 'old.' Until about 5 years ago, U.S. television would NOT show a cityscape in Africa. Seriously, NO pictures or film of Nairobi, Lagos, the Ivory Coast, or Johannesburg. TV producers were not so much inherently racist as they were following the script, i.e. Africa is poor, dangerous, backward, full of disease, dirty, etc. If a story needed a location shot, they would only show poor black kids playing in dirt streets.

It's a new York of Africa with a booming mix races from all continent meanwhile Cape Town is melting pot of races but with whites being at an unfair advantage.
Johannesburg is good followed by Durban.

I’m not a city person which is why we initially choose CPT, bc it’s slower but looking at what you get for your money in terms of housing in the Cape, has made me start wavering on that decision. Joburg is pretty fast paced for me but I loved the energy and everything else about it. I’m also interested in Durban but we have never been there

Durban is in KwaZulu Natal which is the land of the Zulu people. You won't just find indians in Durban, you will find Zulu people and Indians; and, Zulu people outnumber Indians as that is Zululand. As a Zulu person, I'm irked by you speaking as if Durban belongs to indians. Do proper research before speaking on a place.

@@simbisomaps4194 we're not xenophobic. Its just that most african countries see SA as the land of opportunity. Which is not wrong, but the issue is opportunities are limited, so much so that SA citizens(the youth specifically) are missing out on opportunities taken by foreign migrants who are willing to except lower wages/salaries. We have a 60 percent youth unemployment rate.
