Americans dont realize how far a USD goes outside of the US and how little you have to work to earn enough. We hear of people having two or three jobs, when do you get to live your lives? Like thats why you social qualities are dropping, you have no time for each other. Life in Africa, some parts of Europe and Asia is much much more easier. Lets not even start with your health care.

Hi Tayllor. As a white South African I want to welcome you to our country. We do have our problems, but the majority of people are doing their best to live in harmony. I have been asked many times why I don't leave - some whites here does want to create the perception that we have the same type of treatment you describe in the USA, which is absolute bs - but I can never leave my country. I love the people and the vibe and most of all our diversity. We have such a diverse population of different cultures that makes us so much more interesting that anywhere else. Understand that we are diverse and respect our diversity and you will fit in as one of us without difficulty - most American black people who have made the move are already part of our bigger family! They just become part of our daily lives as if they always belonged. That is the key why our diversity makes it easy for anyone to become part of our "whole". Thank you for choosing our country, we welcome anyone who wants to enter and make a positive contribution to our future and I wish you love, success and happiness on our shores.

That's the main reason why even Africans leave Africa. To look for better sources of income otherwise Africa is by far the best continent to live if you have money to sustain your life style. Organic food, good people, beautiful weather, less taxes, more social life as opposed to working all the time like in the US, peace of mind etc. The list goes on and on. But bottom line is you need to have a stable income just to sustain an average life style, I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Secondly, not to get too deep into the geopolitics, but with the steady growth of the BRICS bloc, I believe SA is on an upward trajectory while the US, in its current political climate, is clearly on the downward side of its trajectory which is why I too am leaving to SA in 2024. Hey Tayllor, we have a lot of Black Americans who moved from the USA to South Africa. Even if they initially settled in other African countries like Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, and so on, many eventually choose to relocate to South Africa from those countries.
The reason behind this is the strong connection between South Africans and Black Americans due to their shared history of oppression. Both Black South Africans and Black Americans have endured apartheid and inequality.
Opting to move to your ancestors' homeland, rather than Europe, offers the advantage of not having to face racism and judgment based on your skin color. Instead, you become part of the majority and blend in well with the local people who share your appearance.
Congratulations on choosing your ancestors homeland over Europe. 😊💖💜🤎🖤

I really do appreciate appreciate this comment for most part, but I have to say that let's please not completely disregard the fact that there's definitely still a lot of racism and discrimination towards black people especially if you want to integrate yourself in spaces that have a lot more to offer than the townships. You want to send your children to good schools they will most likely experience discrimination at some point, work spaces etc.
However, I do understand your general point. I'm South African living in Europe and one of the things I miss most about home is being mostly surrounded by people I share the same experience with and look like me whereas I'm a minority here😒

Welcome to SA, I wish you and your family only the best! I've traveled a fair bit over the years, and honestly it opened my eyes as to just how open, genuinely warm and welcoming our people are. In terms of unspoiled natural beauty, we're also up there with the very best, with vast open spaces, mountains and ocean, fynbos, wildlife and African sunsets to die for. I am worried about the many challenges we face, with crippling poverty and inequality, unemployment, systemic corruption, crime, weak institutions, loadshedding and the like. It will no doubt take many years, but I'm hopeful that we will yet rise above these, and that there is a bright future ahead.

On my way too sis. Will be doing a 3 month scouting trip there soon. Looking to leave for many of the same reasons. But, I do find it ironic that I will be going to a country which had similar policies toward the black inhabitants, historically. Understandably, the quality of life is much better now and US dollars go farther, for now. At any rate, watch out for them importing their chicken from the US. That is a new thing about to come. Have to wonder why. Wishing you all the best and thanks for the great content.

@@wahwah7701 1. You don't know me at all to call me a liar. 2. What would I gain about telling somebody about imported chicken? 3. You need to do your own research, because your own south african news outlets report on this. South Africa imports chicken from USA, Brazil, Canada and a few other countries because the demand for chicken is higher than you can keep up with. Do your own research and educate yourself before you say people are lying.

@@tiaholloway9668 South Africa is known for having alot of meat so I don't know what you are talking about. That's why we braai all the time we have abundance of meat. I'm a Zulu guy and at my rural home we have 65 cows and we have goats and chickens. My neighbor has 43 cows. The King of our clan has more than 200 cows and goats and chickens. So I don't know what you are talking about, if you can ask any Zulu person about what I'm saying I'm sure he will also tell you that also them from their rural home they also have alot of cows etc. Having alot of cows, goats and chickens is part of our Zulu culture. We use some of those cows for Zulu traditional weddings, so having cows, goats and chickens is very important to us.

@@wahwah7701 no disrespect to you, but you are only speaking of locales that YOU frequent. You are telling me about YOU. I believe there are over 50 million South Africans who eat meat which includes chicken. You do not speak for the whole country. Everyone in SA does not grow their own food and I'm sure you know this. Like I said, do your own research. You can even check out the South African Poultry Association to confirm and other sources. DO YOUR OWN RESERACH at whatever verifiable resources other than your locale neighborhoods. Peace

@@martinshelton1247if what you have worked hard for means a lot and you take pride in it ,by right don't go. Taking a huge leap like migrating and learning new cultures is not easy it has to come from you, you have to feel is from you those who took that call o would say they have some deep spiritual connection when they came and they couldn't resist because it was deep. They new they'd have to leave behind so much but they decided to go ahead... make other arrangements with your lady friend that will at least accommodate both of, but don't be persuaded for something that you'd end up blaming someone one day, maybe in times you feel down

Just had a reminder I’m black today and afraid to become sick because I don’t want to lose everything I have to medical expenses. I’ve been telling everyone’ in my circle I’m getting out of the US. No I’m just saving my comment here for when I act on my desire to leave US and I get an opportunity to meet you and your husband one day in the future!!
