That’s helpful for that community, and that’s great. But that doesn’t help people who don’t fall within the requirements. Also, I lived in downtown Dallas and I can say for a fact that it’s not affordable. When I’m talking about these places, not only do you get size and price, but also other aspects like how metropolitan the city is, affordable healthcare for Americans, cost of living affordability, no mass shootings. These are things you cannot say for Texas. Yes they are trying to help lower income but that is a band aid on a huge problem. However, that is awesome that they are trying to bring affordable housing in when we need it the most with housing inflation costs soaring.
That first listing you showed you can get a cheaper apartment in the hotels in Bedfordview they have the exact criteria as the first listing, walkable distance and i mean 3-5 minute walk to shopping complexes, 5 min drive to eastgate mall. A driving distance to IVY Restuarant (up market restuarant)

Yeah I always mention this is not geared towards Americans but with the American dollar in mind. So for us we would never have a place that’s $250 rent here so it didn’t make sense for me to show especially for my American viewers. Retirement visa means you have savings enough to last you for at least over 3 years. Your monthly income should be 30k ZAR monthly for your visa to be approved. That is, from your savings.
No just three months advance and you can pay monthly.the three months you it's like insurance on their side incase you won't be able to pay or damages that can occur while you reside there.
Pretoria must be popular because everyone talks about it. We were only able to drive through when we came but I definitely plan to visit for some time to see the hype !
What I’ve learned is many places don’t come with appliances unless they are furnished so most likely no. But some owners will work with you. So if you see an unfurnished listing and their appliances most likely they aren’t included
