I had heard this and we had done it on this batch but put them back on for the video...Can I ask ...is that to be sure everything sealed properly or is there another reason for taking the rings off?

Typically you can keep canned food for 3 years as long as the seal is not broken. Once you open them, they must be kept in the refrigerator. They never last long in our house! Hope you enjoy them. If you make them, let us know what you think.

Watch the way you are tightening those jars. Also don't tip your jars.
