EDIBLE CHRISTMAS TREE FOR THE CHICKENS & NATIVE BIRDS!!!

- Want something fun for all the family to get involved with whilst getting into the Christmas spirit AND playing your part for the environment and all our native birds this winter? THIS IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!
We have decorated our christmas tree with EDIBLE decorations for all our birds and chickens on the farm.
Peanut butter baubles covered in different seeds and meal worms.
Garlands made of popcorn and cranberries.
Stuffed apples with seeds.
Corn on the cob.
Fruit hangers
Hanging seed baskets.
Pineapple slices stuffed with seeds.
Dried fruits and fresh fruits.
It has already been a massive massive hit with our chickens and the birds around the farm. It has been addictive to sit and watch them investigate and explore the tree. So heart warming.
Of course our tree is also real which is even better for the environment and from one of the amazing growers who are part of the British Christmas Tree Growers Association meaning it is sustainably grown too!!

Such a cute idea! Maybe next time, try this also. Wind up a bit of a vine into a slightly woven ball, then add the peanut butter and seeds into and onto it. It saves you from having to buy this styrofoam balls. That tree was looking mighty good! 👍
Totally agree! And dipped pine cones would work well too.

I would use something other than Styrofoam balls. The birds can swallow the styrofoam and it’s not as earth friendly. Perhaps try using clementines or balls made of egg crate. Popcorn balls or willow balls are good too. Rabbits love willow balls

Another idea hannah is let dan give the Christmas trees to goats as they will strip the tree and good enrichment

Aww so cute. The little birds can fit inside the branches and eat in peace! Haha. Do you attract any other little furry four legged critters? 🐭?
