Protecting my Car Wash with LOREX Security Cameras | Install and Review

- I installed a 12 camera 4K(8MP) system at my car wash. It was a pretty simple setup process. I provide some basic step by step instructions on the installation process and provide tips to make your install look professional.
*We purchased this after moving, and previously had a spotlight **Newest.Technology** cam with solar power. The wired pro cam has much better light (about the same as a bright porch light), and the image is significantly more clear with much better details.*

I have Lorex camera systems at 3 separate locations and I have been very pleased with their devices. Never had an issue in over 3 years so far and everything is easy to set up! Great choice for sure.

I honestly think a TV is a better option for security than a monitor.
You can get a lot of life out of it as long as you turn it off when you don't need it.
A car wash owner I know uses his whenever he's in the machine room in case anything goes on while he's there, he can be on top of it (Customer first, sooner you can satisfy the better for all)

Nice! Id recommend getting one in the motor room. Can see if room floods or listen to equipment see if it sounds off. Also if someone breaks inside can get them while inside. Also when you get an employee always good to have eyes on them inside also with the bill changer. But nice work, brought back good memories when I put mine up last year the same way running the wire.
Yeah I have 4 more channels that I can add to the system. Right now I have a SimpliSafe setup in the equipment room and there is a wifi camera attached to that system. The SimpliSafe has a door sensor and motion sensor that is professionally monitored. I wish I could merge the two systems into one.
quick tip when stripping and untwisting cat-5 cat-6 take a small flat head screwdriver at the bottom of the twisted pairs and slowly pull up straightens them and untwists them at the same time save so much time on that

I'm sure I'm over reacting but you've already been broken into just watch what you say and show on camera for the world to see just so people don't see the behind the scenes and look for flaws and potential weaknesses. Hey Nathan, I have a quick question on your lorex cameras. How do you like them to date so far as you had them for a while? are the cameras still doing well and good pictures? I have 3 washes and always bought from world eye camera but they are so pricey. Is it easy to get the cameras on your phone or home do you need a static IP address? Thanks Nathan
Hey Dave. The cameras are still holding up strong. I got wifi installed at my sight a couple weeks ago and I setup the remote viewing in just a matter of minutes with Lorex Cloud app. I am still very happy with it. I should do an update video possibly.
with this system can you check the cameras on your phone if you are away from the property
Yes sir as long as you have wifi on site with the cameras to stream from.
Where did you find the sconces and ceiling LEDs?

Wow! The carwash looks just great! I like the clean white paint and the blue stripe. The cameras look nice too. If you can mount a few extra cameras at low ground level facing the driveway entrances to catch license plates. Another idea is to mount a camera inside your security doors looking out or around or watching your doors. Bad guys always attack your doors. Cat 6 cable is good but Cat 7 and Cat 8 may be BETTER! Do your own research there. I still recommend a rebar latice, gridwork or cross hatch pattern for your ceilings/roof or at the very least a heavy gauge chain link fence mounted to your ceiling to discourage roof top entrys. The roof is your Achilles heel as the easiest point of entry overnight. Alarm sensors in the roof and ceiling are a nice idea. Medeco locks or better, is a must at every door. Double or triple deadbolts on each door is best, 2 3/4 commercial deadbolt throw is best for business applications. Always order locks in stainless steel finish and with a minimum of 4 to 8 keys for each lock. Keyed alike is nice and convenient but separate keys for each lock offers more security. Heavy duty, steel security doors with added weld on plates at weak points will pay off big in the long run. Make sure you primer the doors heavily and add anti-rust galvanized paint or anti-rust paint coatings for the CW marine environment. Rust is another enemy against security. I like the bollards around each bay and protecting the building. I recommend them around each vac station as well, if you don't have them already. Dual changers, is a minimum and lots of spares like bill accepteors, hoppers and other parts are a great idea. When a bill jams or the changer takes a dive you are out of business unless you take CC, phone app, touchless pay or other forms of payment. Multiple changers, multiple forms of payment that offer your customers several ways to pay will make you the most money and keep you away from a single point of failure that kills your cash flow. CW uptime is key. You always want to be able to take money in at all times regardless of HW failures, vandalism or theft. Most changers offer an extra wraparound, second security door bracing kit that is secured by double large button locks by Medeco. This makes your changers almost bulletproof to all. An alarm system that notifies you or the alarm company of breakins from your carwash security sensors is also a nice touch. You will sleep better at night. Motion sensors are also a great idea as well as door opening sensors. As always collect all money daily, and most importantly, nightly to discourage breakins. Make sure no large amount of cash is left on premises overnight, ever! No cash at all should be left inside on premises after 10PM. No bills or quarters, nada...

You probably know its all about the prep. We pressure washed, sealed the block, applied a block filler primer, and then an epoxy paint finish two coats.

Just the rinse functions and presoak. Its mixed with cold though to make it lukewarm.

9:20 that's because you're using a wood bit. you need to use a UniBit (step bit) for metal.

Every car wash should have cameras for liability reasons especially unattended sites
Get a step bit of doing those kinda holes. Also the best security is prevention. Make huge "this site in monitored by live cctv directly send to local police" when setting up your camera angles try and cut out as much of the sky as possible its wasted monitoring.
Your right a step bit would have been the best tool in this case but I didnt have one in my tool bag.
You should of done a patch panel
I had to look up what this was and I think thats a great idea. I think I will actually come back and put one in now that you have shown me this.
@@therevestor BTW, I recommend to get one that uses keystone connectors, i.e. each connection point is just a rectangular hole where you can plug in any type of connector (RJ45, RJ11, HDMI, USB, ...). Upgrading your setup would be very easy, as there are RJ45 keystone connectors that have ports on both sides. I used those in my home setup where I already had cables with plugs incoming and I saved me from having to re-terminate those. It also makes is very easy to have 2 ports looped---I have that set up so I don't have modem->firewall->switch->patch panel criss-crossing but instead have modem->patch panel and patch panel->firewall->patch panel and so on.
The video always looks clear, until you need the video for something then they turn into potatoes

Good Luck getting fast Tech Support ... It took 3 phone calls and an email to Tech Support to resolve an issue with one of my cameras being 1080P not 4K. Be prepared to jump thru a lot of hoops. Each tech will ask the same questions and ask you to do the same thing. The 4th Tech resolved the issue.
