  • The Van's RV-12 E-LSA is a relatively simple aircraft, but that doesn't mean its annual conditional inspection isn't without major effort and sizable teradown. Like all aircraft, there are major systems to look after, including dealing with service bulletins and ADs, wear-and-tear items, plus some unique items on the aircraft's Rotax 912-series engine that deserve extra attention.
In this video, EAA Chapter 166's Larry Anglisano took a look at an RV-12 inspection with The Spirit of Meriden Flight Club's Mark Scott, who was part of the aircraft's original build team at neighboring EAA Chapter 27 in Meriden, Connecticut.

ELSA does not require a A&P to sign off. You take the LSRI class and sign off yourself!

Thanks! Enjoyed the content. I own 2 of those sawhorses. I would not put my aircraft on them. Just saying…

Why did you remove the wings for an annual inspection?

Rv12 has easily removable wings. Way easier to walk around when there's no wings.
