      Go for it Michael! Once you have the bug, there's no turning back.

    Another GREAT video! I was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base back in the 90s. And earned my PPL at North Little Rock so I've been in and out of both NLR and Conway many times. I live in northern Missouri now so thanks for the trip down memory lane over central Arkansas!

      Thank you sir for the comment. Arkansas is a beautiful state. We didn't get much up north on this trip but in the future we will try to take in some of the Ozarks.

    That‘s a quite impressive range you can get out of your -12. I usually plan only about 280 NM for my longest leg. But I have the 912ULS installed in my RV-12

      I wish I could take credit for that but I owe it all to FADEC I think. With the ULS, having to tune two carbs and manually set the mixture I doubt I could go as far. On the other hand, I also seem to find myself with a headwind every time I fly, so on this return trip I had a bit of tailwind to help.

    Great looking plane, enjoying your trips! Do you use VFR flight following? Thanks for posting!

      Hi Buck! Glad you enjoy my stuff. I wil use flight following on certain flights and not others. Generally I will invoke flight following if I expect to be near a congested area while enroute. I listen to the controllers and if it seems like there's quite a bit of VFR traffic at my altitude I will call up to get traffic advisories. Normally, though, I just go it alone.

    I fly the 7 with O-320 and am happy to get my fuel burn at 8 gph. Nice video.

      Thanks Paul. Your RV-7 will leave me in the dust for sure. While I might be burning 4 GPH, I am also just doing maybe 120 MPH, while you cruise around 190. That 4 extra gallons gets you there pretty quick.

    Great video! I am building a 14 and can't wait to take trips like this. How easy is it to download data from your Garmin devices. Easy enough to do it for every flight?

      Hi David. Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure what you mean about downloading Garmin data. Can you clarify?

    • @David1970a
      @David1970a 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rv12sg In several first flight videos people talk about downloading data to see engine performance on other data. I assumed is was from the Garmin equipment.

      @@David1970a Could be. There are features of Garmin that I know I have not explored. If I were the builder I suspect there would be diagnostics I'd want to check out, but as an owner who relegates everything to my A&P I wouldn't know.

      @@David1970a Here's an update - I took a look at the Garmin Operator's Guide and can confirm that, yes, I can download data. In fact, it is almost like the stored data is a bit like a mini version of the "Black Box" the airliners have. It stores all sorts of performance data including primary flight data, engine parameters, and system status information.

      @@rv12sg Thanks for the reply. Many years away for me but just thinking about ways to document the flights. No real reason, just because you can.
