This is great, thank you for showing us. I think that the throttle plate can be well cleaned and adjusted/ centered in the throttle barrel. This might help with it sticking, it should never stick. This can be very tedious to adjustment.
Hi there I’m watching your video on your idle adjustment. My question I have is I have a 1989 XJS and the housing on the mount is totally different on my XJS to the one that I am watching on the video here, so I understand where things are, but on my engine they’re placed in a different place so I’m not sure if I’m messing with the right components so if I could have somebody demonstrate or show me where that is on a XJS in 1989 jag I will I would love you guys appreciate you God bless
hey Josh. is it not worth just replacing the throttle body? £80 ebay . i like how you have the big rubber hammer at hand should everything else fail....😂
Thanks for the advice. The more we go down this path it looks like we are isolating our potential issue to the TPS calibration. Everything we can find points to this needing to be resent via obdii port. We welcome any feedback.
Hey Josh and James awesome video I love your channel ❤️ you know your cars. Super smart man.
Thanks so much

Thanks for the advice! We noticed oil on the TPS as well. We are going to have another video on investigating that as well.
Great info... give me a 'heads-up' when you replace the 'Idle Air Controller'. thanks
We replaced it. It fixed it for one drive and then the issue came right back. We are isolating the issue to the TPS calibration.

Thanks for your response. But how is the TPS calibration done.
The auto logic scanner can do it. The only issue is, these are $2,000 used. Finding an independent mechanic that has one is the best bet.
Can you please post who in the US has the auto logic scanner???
