It's not a jaguar it's a junk ford. The last real jaguar is 1988.do your home work. Asshole..
Great work, can you share information concerning a P007b code on a 2014 xj . Thanks
This thread may help. Definitely check your aux water pump for the charge air cooler. www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x351-53/engine-code-p007b-00-a-266824/
The last real Jag was the Series 3 XJ, although the X300 and 308 did a great job at revisiting the essence of it.
The boxy headlights on the 300 tool the edge off for me
12-15 years ago I bought a XKR100 and XJR 100 both the 100 year Sir W. Lyons celebrity version. I never regret- they are simple to keep and maintain but I bought from 1. owner that were 7 figure income volks or above. Thats the point that is very important because Jaguars were always too cheap and those who could not afford a Mercedes could buy a Jaguar but (!!!) not able to pay for service. Jaguars are among the least serviced cars in the world and thats why many of them fail if you buy from 5th owner. However the engineering is excellent and far supperior as most expect. Go for them but always buy the best you can find in a market! I will never sell them.
Those are lovely and rare motors! You are correct on how people don’t service them and then claim they are unreliable
@@LowTechGarage Yes I love the engine which was the first mass produced that copied motorcycle valves with 5mm stems, super light etc. They also used excellent conrods and pistons. The V8 was the best engine Jaguar produced- by far and I own 10 Jaguars with all sorts of engines....
I've had a G reg 6 cylander for the last 20 years. I'm happy with it. V12's are far too complicated for the tiny increase in performance. My XJS has fuel injection so I've always got 35 miles to the gallon.
That’s fab! They are lovely cars! I wish the support in the US was better.
Can u pl. Mention which is the smallest jags model if 90s because there are planty of them which r confusing
Bro which is this model which u r reviewing the green one
XJR
Imagine one in a Vega, one fellow in Michigan did. The Snowball Express
Hope he wore some brown trousers
My dad's friend was the mechanic/tuner for Yenko Chevrolet. He built my dad's 396 L89 camaro. Not a Yenko Camaro but damn near it.
Sweet
So i have a 2018 Q50 3.0t im hearing squealing at 3000 rpm and am sure its the belt but may be the idler pulley or tensioner should i just buy all and access the situation when i am up close and personal or is it more than likely only a worn belt? Im at 82500 miles i dont believe belt has ever been changed....
With your miles I’d lean towards just a belt. When you take the belt off test the other accessories and idlers just to be sure. Good luck!
Thank you for the response z1 has a good deal on an idler pulley and a belt so maybe ill get both just in case i need the pulley. Or whenever i do need it itll be on hand @LowTechGarage
I think the filter you pulled out was in backwards. Air flow arrow should be down...
Thanks for the info!
That's my dream truck always has been I love them.
The OBS is great! We love our current 150 and the 7.3!
thank you so much for this!
Any time!
Hello, could a dirty throttlebody be causing me to have a P0 300 on my Infiniti?
This code is not related to the throttle bodies. I would start simple and check spark plugs. Make sure to replace with OEM plugs if you decide to replace.
@ the code seems to come on when the weather is cold and only on a cold start. I’ve replaced the plugs with OEM a year ago and it fixed the problem then cold weather came again and got the same code. I replaced ignition coils on bank one since I was getting them on that side and it fixed it now a year later I got the same code swap coil packs to see if it would follow up to the other bank and they stayed in bank one.
That is one sweet looking truck! I agree with one of the other comments, in that this truck’s name should be “Blue Steel!” I believe it fits very nicely! Congratulations!
Thanks for the suggestion! Blue Steel is a good one!
@ Josh Last message before Christmas From Greg I was sold when I found out it was a supercharged V8 with a Mercedes Benz transmission and what is likely regarded as the last true Jag. Other than that I wasn’t interested in owning a Jaguar. The big wheels and tires were attractive too. My previous car, my BMW which was a 2003 that was well equipped but closer to a base or mid range model lacked some things I always wanted in a big four door sedan. The steering adjustment was actually manual. There was very little hardwood in the car. No power seats at all. Those were also manual. No leather in the car that I can remember except for the wheel and the shifter I think. I was very happy with it other than these things. It ran extremely well and for being just a little 2.2 L straight six it had enormous power. Shifting and handing were superb! No cruise control too. The first thing I liked about the jag XJR is that I thought it must have the most perfect front seats ever made and so classic and iconic and quintessential. Those seats alone are worth 16,000 haha I love the seats to no end. Heated too with all power adjustment and memory including the head rests. They have to be one of the most comfortable leather seats I’ve ever sat in. These seats are special. I’m going to teach my son how to drive using this car the 1998 Jaguar XJR The steering is a bit soft and light compared to the BMW but that’s a JAG thing. I think the X308 will be a good car for him to first ever drive and learn on. I first drove at age 9. 1981 ford pick up Alberta special F150 305 V8 I think ….I could be wrong. By this coming summer my son will be 11 closer to 12 actually. He’s old enough to see what driving is like on good back roads. Did you know there is a small metal storage safe under the front drivers seat. A person I was talking to ask me if I have it. I do. He said it could be used for keeping anything but some of the secret agents back in Europe and the UK used it for keeping a gun. I do have keys with the car I have no idea what they are for. One might be for that little safe. I’ve never tried to open it. Seasons greetings !!! To you JOSH thank you for ALLLLLL your help getting me through that long long dark tunnel with this car. From Greg
I'm rebuilding an '80 model now. Note about those with smog engines...the head will VERY likely be cracked. Mine was. But, you can get new ones, steel or aluminum. Just be aware you may have to tear down the engine and the deeper you go, well, just be ready. I'm rebuilding the entire suspension, brakes, clutch, master/slave cylinders, some electrical improvements, new starter, engine complete rebuild, higher compression cylinders, electronic ignition, new roof, on and on! My mom had the same make and model when I was a teen back in the 80's. I'm hoping to get this thing running so I can surprise her when I pick her up for lunch! Nice video and you offer some great insights.
That sounds like a great project. I'm sure your mom will be surprised!
That color is Brooklands green not BRG
Thanks for the info
@ Josh Thank you, I’m looking forward to the long drive. :)
i still use one just redone timing cover and water pump etc on a hemi with it
Very useful tool!
@ Josh Short update on my 1998 XJR Today I ordered four new Nokian winter tires to replace the ones that were stolen from the shop I was using last year. I’m going to be just about set for the long trip across Canada which is about an 80 to 90 hour drive home for Christmas. The car is running good! :) Nokian tires are from Finland and they have the only 365 day testing facility in the arctic that is pretty much always snow and ice if not slushy as far as I understand. Apparently they invented the very first winter tire. I think these will be good for on the Jag although there are other good winter tires but nothing that would fit the jag except for the Italian tires that are recommended in the car book. For both summer tires and winter tires. Nothing you need to worry about in Florida Josh. But up here we can get -50 with snow and ice. The automatic traction control and stability control along with ABS and the use of the gears on the J-Gate do help a lot too.
Have a great and safe trip! That’s a long drive!
You gotta name it blue steel. Or is this a channel for ants?
I love it!
Nice color. Mine is aboutsamecolor
Thanks. It’s Portofino Blue.
My '95 F150 XL straight six 5 speed has been an excellent and reliable truck!
Yes, our last OBS (we have some videos of it our playlists) was the 6 cylinder and was awesome.
Beauty and practical, i know, cause i have one.
Awesome! These trucks are great! Look forward to sharing lots of content on this one as I bring it back to its former glory!
Real Steel!!
Heck yea 🤘🏼
Nice rig! I see a missing 2.3 liters under that ranch though
Gonna need a Kenne Bell compensator
Yeah but how much does it tow?
Surprisingly 1,200lbs more than the old 4.9L
Tows as much as any new half ton , but more reliable and easy to fix , not to mention durable and practical it's not a blown up doll like any new pickup.
She’s a beauty!! Blue on blue on blue!!!
Symphony in Blue
What is the inside dimater of the Mina Gallery intake tube ?
It’s 3in tubing
Nice find!
Appreciate it! I'm super excited.
Scrap that! These V12 HE have india made heads and drop valve seats!!!
We are glad ours was a 4.0L L6!
You cant use any XJS V12 they have india Made cylinder heads and drop vave sears!!
Thank you Josh. You are so right ! Such an important tiny thing that's driving me crazy. I have 2 Jags and both have the same problem. Will follow your advice.
Two Jags! That's awesome!
Same process as q50 ?
@@shineyboi if it’s the 3.7 it should be the same.
Thanks for the video. Helped me get my clock spring changed.
You're welcome! Glad it helped!
I need to replace the snout coupler. Can I remove the snout in place without taking the whole supercharger out?
I would plan to at least raise the supercharger to access everything and catch the oil that will come out
@@LowTechGarage Thank you for your response. I’m torn between attempting the coupler replacement myself and breaking something or having a shop replace it and pay more than the car’s value.
Do you think that this tool will work to clamp cv boots also? I hate the the clamps that are used for that, and looking for an other solution...
I don’t think this would be the best solution for CV boots
@LowTechGarage ok, thank you! Is the clamp too weak for cv boots?
Oh baby!!! This is the build I needed in my life! X308s are gems! Excited for this!
Glad you're enjoying the build!
Glad you're enjoying the build!
That looks great 👍 buddy
Appreciate it!
ahh, nice to see a vid from you again, not seen one for ages.
I am 25 and work in a manner that i should buy a stationwagon, but i came across a good looking XJ6 for a very reasonable price... I know i should not, but i do not know if i can resist the temptation.
I would look for the later V8 cars that are supported by OBDII. It will make your life a lot easier maintaining it on a budget. The 6 cylinder is a great motor but the earlier electrics are tedious to work with, and support in the USA is limited at times.
Link to bulb sockets please...?
Thank you for the love!!!
Of course! Lovely car and great to see at SEMA!
They turned out great
Thank you!
The last "true" Jaguar would've had the inline 6, so the last year before Ford took them over and installed V8s. I had a '95 XJ6 in BRG with biscuit interior. Soon to have a 1999 XJ8 VDP, which even though is a much nicer car than the XJ6, in my mind, it's not a "true" Jaguar like the '95 was.
We had a 1996 xjs with the 4.0 6cyl. Great power train and BRG on biscuit to boot
Thank you for the video as it shows the proper way to restore as opposed to cheaper methods which result in a temporary fix
You’re welcome! Proper restoration is always the way to go.
That's a great result well done best regards Andy Allen.
Thank you Andy!
I love the 70's MGBs and the seats are so soft and they feel really good.
Super comfy to ride in!
@@LowTechGarage I completely agree.
Very cool. Planning to do this on my XJR. Think I'll remove the headlight units though so I can do the bits at the sides too.
It’s worth the time. It really makes a big difference
