- Hendricks Motorsports is probably the biggest team in NASCAR. They attract a large fanbase for every single race each year. However, they recently revealed some shocking statements about NASCAR which could be very damaging for the sport.
The negotiations for the new charter agreement have been ongoing for the past 2 years. Given that the current agreement is set to expire after this year, NASCAR and the teams will need to finalize the terms as soon as possible.

You could race at Indianapolis, Gateway, Mid Ohio, Whatkins Glenn, Limerock, Pocono. I believe these tracks are still privately owned. I’m sure there is other tracks they could use.

The France family are bullies, and that model is long ago dead. A legal battle will almost certainly favor the teams in outcome, but will be a long and protracted (read expensive) battle.
The owners should dictate to NASCAR not the other way around ! Without race cars there is no NASCAR !
Without NASCAR the drivers will not be paid 40 million + a year either.

I don't like either of the two teams that didn't knuckle under, but I admire their balls. Nascar is fouling their own nest and they are going to reap the rewards of their own stupidity. The France family is killing the golden goose.
I'd love to see at the beginning of the race all the cars just stop in the middle of the track. Drivers get out and walk back to the pits. I'm sure within hours a new fair agreement would be made...

Mr.H has stated in the past that Hendrick Motorsport is NOT a money maker in fact it costs him money every year the revenue comes from other endeavors how long can that continue? NASCAR lost its way after Bill France jr passed it’s now a headless monster trying to come up with some new gimmick every year to sell tickets and its losing !
I’m 56 years old and been going to races since I was 3 months old. My Dad had a dirt late model, so I was born into racing. I played all sports growing up, but nothing compared to racing. I’ve watched NASCAR for as long as it has been on TV. I would agree with you 100% about Bill France jr. But one other huge thing that changed NASCAR forever, was when Dale Earnhardt was killed at Daytona. I wasn’t an Earnhardt fan, but everything changed that year in 2001. NASCAR year by year has ruined the sport. I watched everything that was on TV. Practice, qualifying, races, and it didn’t matter which series. But I have since stopped watching racing. I’ll read things on TH-cam, or stuff that pops up. NASCAR HAS BECOME TO POLITICAL, AND RUINED THE RACING. I go to dirt races but I don’t attend any NASCAR EVENTS ANYMORE.
I just turned 70 and agree with all of your statement. I quit watching for several years due to the stage racing, but eventually came back I love racing and hope it survives, but NASCAR has turned it's back on the older fans who helped drive the sport.

Nascar needs to negotiate with the teams. They need to deal professionally with their teams. They are the heart of the sport without working with teams,why would new investors want to invest with so many insecurities within the sport
Nascar is going to destroy the sport. Go back to the same type car and the ways to qualify when Dale Sr was racing. Keep the same safety things they have in now. Nascar has taken the fun out of the sport.

You don't try to "force" someone to sign a contract before midnight if you're negotiating fairly. "IF YOU DON'T THINK THE CONTRACT IS FAIR DON'T SIGN IT" If all of teams don't sign the contract it kind of boxes NASCAR in a box.
what will the France family do with all their tracks vacant from racing all those billions of dollars not coming into their accounts all the sponsor's empty cash registers? All those fans and all those empty seats just a few good weekends would wake them up and those deserving of the majority of that cash flow would be getting their just deserves

The coolest thing about nascar is that it isn’t owned by taxpayers……baseball, football and basketball can’t say that. Also, no salary cap, no reporting what is spent to the public, no voting agreements to buy and sell teams. Pretty neat the US government hasn’t caught on with taxes. Since most is “advertising”….its a write off.😂😂😂❤
If they want to treat the sport like other pro sports, which I’m okay with and trying new things etc. Then they need to make the teams true partners of the NASCAR regime as franchises Not sure why they only gave them six hours. However, all teams have lawyers and I’m sure they could read in an hour, have a meeting for three hours and you have two hours left to do…..They need to make them franchises and put values on them. Plain and simple. It’s the only way to not make them not so sponsor dependent. They need proper and fair revenue sharing. NASCAR needs to start a drivers association to get them involved with track decisions, rule changes, stage lengths all of it. Just like the NHL Players association, NFL, MLB and NFL.
NASCAR has always been very greedy. That’s why the Francis family or organization has purchased tracks an amazing those tracks all these get races. I feel the best way to handle the situation is to force NASCAR to show report of how much money they make every year and what all the executives get paid and what their job entails. Also showing what the owners dividends are that way the teams and the public could learn how much money they’re taking in versus what they do, and spend to make the experience more enjoyable. It would also give the teams a better understanding of. How much are they are being taken advantage of, or with the real CARSTAR to run the circus.
What happened to Tony Stewart's plan for another racing organization together to rival NASCAR?

I have been privy to what SMI gets at many of there tracks for one race and it would absolutely blow your mind to hear the numbers that the Smith family makes for just one race and they are in bed with Nascar and Nascar owns a bunch of tracks as well so it’s definitely a lopsided pie that is out there!

I just know this current car is not Nascar 2 flat tires & the car gets towed seems dumb..they bailed on alot of history of what made the sport great but in the end I don't think it'd be as hard to find more drivers as other venues to race on so they're more or less a partnership until the money runs dry. I still watch and follow I'm not letting a few head scratch decisions stop me from what I like to do.

Try to keep in mind that a NASCAR event, to the fans, is entertainment. That means that NASCAR is the promoter and the teams, and the drivers, are the entertainment. And my experience tells me that the promoter never makes as much as the entertainers. Where would NASCAR be without the drivers & teams? The same place any promoter would be without a client.
I cheer 23/11 and FRM for standing their ground. Its just good business sense. Each driver/team is a private contractor. And each contractor should be able to negotiate in good faith. I wish more teams had the "balls" to stand with these two teams.

@@wysetech2000 It started when they went to stupid point system because matt kenseth won the championship by over 400 points around 2002.( In 1992 four drivers went to the last race of the year in Atlanta with a chance to win under a point system that has been around forever).Then trying to expand the market to areas like Chicago while taking away dates from Darlington, North wilksboro, Loudon. No drug testing policy for NASCAR owners didn't help either. Didn't Brian France get busted for coke.And changing the rules week to week don't make things interesting(allowing Kyle Busch to win a championship after missing 11 races, alot of people get hurt ,try again next year).Trucks? Spotters outnumber the fans. Not much to be said about that. Banning the rebel flag?Nascar began in the 1940's . What color flag do you think they decided to fly for anything "bad" , rough driving ,mechanical issues,ect. All owners should pull out. Start another racing association that's fair and non-restrictive as NASCAR has become sad. NASCAR has pulled so many crazy stupid stunts and make the drivers eat them over the years. I'm not alone so many died in the wall NASCAR fans feel the same way.
