Rusty is a bad ass that’s for sure! Love that guy! My dad was a big rusty fan and I naturally was too. Still keep the picture of me and my dad with Rusty to this day in a frame.
Nice to see Rusty ! I got to meet him at Mesa Marin and again in Phoenix.I actually ended up with a garage pass from his team. (Thats a story for a different day.) So we are standing there in the garage trying to stay clear of everyone.Rusty walks up and says hey guys hows it going, like he knew us.😅 He was so cool and polite I'll never forget how humble he was. What a great guy!
Rusty Wallace and my Father RIP Dad, share the same Birthday coming up next week. Soo Early Happy Birthday Rubberhead. My 1st Favorite driver growing up watching Nascar back in the 80's n 90's and until he retired in 05.
Rusty is the MAN!!! At one time one of my granddaughter's was the youngest in Rusty 's fan club. They went on a cruise with him and the club had Alexis a shirt made saying youngest member of Rusty's fan club. We all love Rusty.
Watching Rusty race feels like a lifetime ago. I was there for the win in the Winston, I was there for his last race at Bristol, and so many other places, in between. I shared photos with Stapleton42 of your raceshop, during the Cox years and from Rusty's during the Kodiak/Genuine Draft Bluemax days.
I’ve been a Rusty fan since Kodiak days. Still have the green Kodiak hat. Was hoping to get it autographed one day but never had the opportunity. My Dad was an Earnhardt fan so we had some fun bantering going to Daytona every year.
Hey Kenny, Ive replayed mark martins podcast episodes like 5 times because i love his details about the setups. I started racing 3 years ago and ive learned so much about chassis theory from marks podcast and i have so much respect for guys like him and Rusty. That said i love the stories about mark and Rusty as young men racing ASA in the late 70s 80s. These men built the sport. Kenny so you know, the next generation of racers is listening and i have so much respect for the legends of the sport.
Loved the video this morning. Rusty was my driver and I have always followed all of the Wallace brothers and family. Keep entertaining and providing us with your insight and opinions Kenny. God Bless and stay safe gentlemen 0:10
Herm, I love you, but I loooove Rusty. Been my guy from his ASA days. Good to see him 😊. I knew hw was going to say Don Miller and Penske! Have a great ride and thank you for what you are doing 🏁
Man! Being a NC native I’m a Reds fan. This has me all wound up! I’ve watched races at Bristol, I’ve ran Bristol drag racing so this would be amazing to see my team at my backyard venue!! Come on Kenny! I’ll join you!
330 down the lines, 400 center field. I was in Charlotte for "The Winston," when Rusty kept on sneaking up on Darrell Waltrip going into turn 4, until he finally caught him, spun him out and won the race. Darrell said he hoped Rusty choked on the $200k he won. Fun stuff! Sorry Kenny, I don't remember any stories about you. 🙂 I took the time to go back over some of Kenny's highlights. It brought a smile to my face.
Sixteen years old and we went to family vacation to Charlotte for One Hot Night and the 600. Between the two races we went to Rusty’s shop in Mooresville. Showed up at 6pm. My dad sent me up to the front door to see if anyone was there. Door was open. Lights were out. But sitting there in the lobby was his Valleydale 500 trophy. I had a “woah” moment. Lobby was a ghost town so we drove around to the back and saw a garage door open, a hauler and lights on in the shop. A guy came out and said he could show us around. His name was Earl Barban. Took us around the haulers but we couldn’t go inside, showed us a few things around and as we went into the shop I saw Rusty talking with somebody and was told we couldn’t bug him. Earl asked if I wanted to sit in one of the cars but I was way too shy to do it. A regret. HA! Earl got my 89 champion hat signed, gave me some posters, a big 3’x3’ MGD decal and a spark plug from his One Hot Night qualifying run. I couldn’t believe it. To this day I am so grateful to Earl and Rusty for letting us look around in the middle of a busy week. It made my childhood and is a great memory. Still have the spark plug and some rubber I grabbed off of the track after the 600. Your family is great Kenny. Thanks for YouTubin’!
@@AdamHumburg I remember those days when things were different and they were so much more approachable. I remember my buddy at the time worked for them hanging bodies. I’d stop down there to visit and meet the guys. Don Miller was a great guy…..when they were racing Dover or Richmond I would get a call to see what I was doing Saturday night or Sunday……I’d drive down and go get fuel cans or help….when Rusty would win the party was sponsored by MGD. The party went on until the weekend hours of the morning if we were in Richmond…..oh the days. Still have my Todd Parrot MGD shirt along with the team coat…..will never part with them….
Have to admit I was drifting away from KW and his favorable banter of H Deegan. But Rusty just reeled me back in. Great to see and hear from Rusty and his incredible track record at. Bristol.
Rusty took the compliments like a gentleman and a champion. Always enjoy your vlogs.....honest, transparent and insightful... Clark from Omaha. btw, did Sturgis 3 times back in 03,04, and 06. Loved the Black Hills.
Great job Kenny we enjoyed your interview with rusty we have bought several vehicles from Rusty’s car dealer ships in Morristown Tn we hope to meet rusty at his dealership one day always a fan of you both
Over the years there have been a huge band of brothers in NASCAR. Known as the NASCAR brotherhoods of racing. Some that worked together, and others only went their separate ways. Glenn and Leonard Wood, Bobby and Donnie Allison, Darrell and Michael Waltrip, Glen and Dale Jarrett, Geoff, Brett, and Todd Bodine, Terry and Bobby Labonte, Jeff and Ward Burton, Chuck and Jim Bown, Hermie and Elliott Sadler, Kurt and Kyle Busch, David, Jeff, and Mark Green, Brad and Brian Keselowski, Austin and Ty Dillon, and finally Rusty, Mike, and Kenny Wallace.
Rusty is a bad ass always love rusty and you Kenny and any brother y’all awesome people man don’t let nobody say otherwise I hope you say you biking get to donate that money to the foundations awesome
Kenny you got a great channel, having Rusty on is awesome. You guys should have an online shop for retro NASCAR gear from you two. I would love to buy a diecast, T-shirt, hat or JH Design Jacket or any Rusty merch with late 80’s Kodiak or early 90’s Miller schemes, just sayin’. I’m still kicking myself that I missed the 1990 & ‘96 races at Sonoma which he won, but in person I got to see Rusty win at Phoenix in ‘98 and the Pole at Sonoma in 2000, good stuff!
I went to Dover with my son this year, my first race in more than 2 decades. People next to us asked who we were rooting for. My son is a Logano fan. I told them "Rusty Wallace." They laughed and said, he's not racing today. I told them, "I'm always for Rusty. That's my driver." And always will be. Hope you've still got some cool hot rods Rusty! Keep the pedal down!
@@alienfleet3702 I’m just like you, Sonoma 2005, Rusty’s last race there, was the last Cup race I’ve seen in person. I’m thinking about going back next year for the first time in 20 years.
Awesome. Im NOT a Rusty #2 fan, no,no,no. The black #3 is was my guy. BUT! History has proven , and current times as well, Rusty is a Hell of a driver and person. Penskes NASCAR team was not a winning team until Rusty got there. Roger was an outcast to some degree. Rusty & his guys built what you see today for Roger. Very cool stuff.
Kenny, tell Rusty that he was my favorite driver. I started watching nascar in 1988 and most of my friends were either Dale Earnhardt fans or Bill Elliot fans. I got into many arguments with my friends because I was for Rusty.I loved the miller genuine draft black and gold paint scheme and sponsorship.Rusty you really kicked some ass while driving it. I hope you are doing well and you enjoy your retirement and I wish I could have met you in person because we could have talked for hours.Kenny I enjoy watching your TH-cam videos and I think if you had gotten the chance to drive for a top NASCAR team you would have won lots of races too!
Rusty Wallace is cool as F. Paid his dues and reaped the rewards.Kenny get that wildman Stephen on ,he has a lot to say,I enjoy the heck out of the Wallace Family,. Will Mike be around?
Hey Kenny, my grandpas name was Fred Raney from St. Louis, he passed a couple years ago! Just curious if you ever remember running across him! Y’all have fun and be safe!
Rusty was my favorite driver. So sad when he stopped NASCAR! We bought a lot of his items when we went on a NASCAR vacation in our motor home…jacket, can coolers, cars never taken out of the box, keychains and seat cushions to sit in the stands on. Tried to posts pics from our race room but it won’t let me.
I remember Rusty and Mark Martin when he was 16 years old at Hometown track Tri-State Speedway Pocola Oklahoma it was asphalt p.m. him and Mark Martin with bad asses
Rusty is a bad ass that’s for sure! Love that guy! My dad was a big rusty fan and I naturally was too. Still keep the picture of me and my dad with Rusty to this day in a frame.
I’m with you I’ve always loved Rusty! The problem now is I have all his memorabilia laying around that I don’t know what to do with
Great to see Rusty enjoying life. He's a national treasure. He was a racer's racer. God bless.
