Gun owner for more than 40 years, shouldn't allow the slide to slam on an empty chamber you risk damaging the extractor and over time can cause cracks to occur on the slide. Have no issues getting the last round in the magazine, Glock has a similar problem, you can use a Uplula magazine loader or keep your magazines loaded for a week or so. With the S&W SD9VE with the fully loaded magazine, I need to use force but hitting the bottom of the base plate to get the magazine to lock in place, with the Glock have no issue.
I’m shocked to hear you’ve had those issues, I’ve had this gun for almost 2 years, no issues other than the last round of the mag not getting in there despite having it loaded for well over 6 months, and Yes I understand the risk of damaging the extractor, I still however do it and will probably keep doing it out of habit and if need be I could always get a new one, however now that you mentioned having to smack the bottoms of the base plate to get the mag to lock in, I actually have to do that with my Glock 23, have had it loaded since august, have shot it multiple times, it’s guns, one thing that works for someone just might not work for everyone else, hope you enjoyed the video though

See that’s where we disagree, guns without manual safeties are just fine, and are ENTIRELY safe as long as You follow the basic rules of gun safety, and being careful on holstering, other than that manual safeties make the gun more complicated for new users, and will make it difficult to remember unless You STRICTLY train to take the safety off first which most people in a real life situation would forget
