    I started changing tires for my dad at his gas station when I was 10. Weighed about 80 lbs. My dad showed me all the tricks to getting them broken down and the tires on and off. We used a manual tire changer (Tireman) and bubble balancer both of which my dad still has at his home garage that we use occasionally. They're over 60 years old.

    wow that sneak peek was a throwback for me, my father ,rest his soul,got me a 72` Super Beetle when I was nine ,we ran through it and took it a step further to make it road worthy and we painted it up just like the Disney variant as i had the 4 original movies on VHS, lol, I cried when we had to sell it,it was a fun car as he let me drive it around the neighborhood and didn`t tell mom x,D

    I have a 1969 GMC pickup truck my grandpa bought brand new. It's been sitting in my backyard for about 6 years, not running. I remember going fishing with my grandpa when I was a kid. Good memories. One of these days I hope to get it running again and restore its beauty! Not quite sure how to go about that, so I'm watching youtube videos.

    I know this is late but wanted to comment. I drove Bug for 14+ years. Over 115K miles. Original everything. I was in the process of rebuilding the pan. Went on vacation and when we came home the Bug was gone. Small town grapevine my neighbor reported it as an abandoned car. The place it was towed to wanted storage fees, towing and a bunch more bs. It was more than I could afford so I sold it to the guy for cheap. Great neighbor.

    • @grantkoeller8911
      @grantkoeller8911 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is stealing! I would have called the cops!!!! You can't just call and say someone's car is abandoned, they would contact the owners first.What kind of hillbilly town was this?

    • @raymari7658
      @raymari7658 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@grantkoeller8911 I know Grant. It's a small town where everyone knows each other. It's just that the neighbor lived there way longer than I. I guess you could say he had pull with the local police. I was away which made it easier to have the car taken. Wish I knew my rites better at the time.

    Yes, absolutely love the little super beetle and how you guys did it. The only thing I probably would've done different is the engine look. Since I don't know how much of the engine was stock, and how much was aftermarket, I probably would've kept more of the stock parts, but I also know you had limited time to get enrolled into that car show venue. Very well done, I've always dreamed of being part of restoring a car.

    Those old 250 motors can go hard if you show em some love. I lived in Australia. Early fords I owned had 250 or 200 in. Went good in light body cars 4 barrel car extractors. Bit of head work and cam. Away you go

  • @Rebel9668

    Funny watching this with the sound not matching up to the dialogues...then hearing the engine start and die...then seeing the fan spin while it's quiet, lol. I had a 250 in a car once years ago. Engine always worked fine, but it went through an oil sending unit about every 6 months. Be driving home and suddenly notice all your valves clattering and the engine bouncing around.
