Love the shoe cabinet makeover and the cane addition to the tray table is very trendy. Love the look of black with natural caning. I would seal the caning on both sides with a water based matte clear poly acrylic just to make it easier to wipe down and avoid any spills that might stain it. Even Mod Podge would work.

At first, I wondered why you didn't paint the wood on the first DIY but it looks great as is and gives you flexibility to paint it for your revamped entry way in the future. Subscribed! Can I say the little vase here in UK and Ireland are quite collectable. Called Ruby glass. I've a few pieces given to me by my friend whose Mother owned them in memory of her, they were her Mother's before then. She died in 2006 over 80. They're very old... I've not got oak 1950/60 Unit done yet, you call them Hutches, will be mainly books etc in it. I'm not an ornament person, but their will be a special shelf for those. She always said I was like her daughter, a sister to my friend which made me proud. We've been friends for over 50 years....

I just bought one of these shoe cabinets. Have not put it together yet as I have been trying to find something like this to elevate the look of it. I am also thinking of a way to improve the top by adding a piece of marble or something. I will have to see if I can find this molding. I was going to just use not more nails so I don't have to nail it.
I love the idea of adding marble! I’ve never seen that. Liquid nails would be a great option to use. I wish i would have used that instead. I found the mounding at Lowes so it should be pretty accessible.
You’re definitely going to want to add air nails to the trim you added on the shoe rack. Or something. It’s not going to last long term....
