So learning about trust and confidence into the right people and not those who only impress with simple politically correct wording and manipulative projections but also with what they really do is essential and Elon is among the very few who do with a reason even risking to fail. Without that nobody would have had tried to fly or even walk. Elon is the perfect try-all and not trial system like most others. Just try is never enough and if you have money every idiot can build his own car as a trial version or prototype of how nice future could be. Tesla sales are tanking everywhere. They're discounting heavily to prop up sales, trashing the market value of previous owners and the used car prices. The other legacy players have seen the writing on the wall and are scaling back their future plans for EV production.
Tesla is the biggest player and stands to fall the hardest when public awareness overthrows Net Zero subsidiaries.
It's already happening in Europe and it won't take long for the rest to do likewise.

The phase “Tesla Killer” is so misplaced. The aim of any company producing an EV should be to be calling it an ICE Killer. An BMW brings out a new car, they don’t say “Ford/GM/Audi/VW killer”, so by focusing on trying to kill the competition misses the need to deliver a consistent product.

First off its not a Jaguar its made by a contractor, also its not made in Britain its made in Austria. So just a car with a Jag badge on it. I tested it twice, poor range and old fashioned software, even the salesman didn’t know how it worked and tried to sell me a diesel XF !. Overall if they ain’t interested then why would the paying public ?. So saying once it drops on the used market to well under £20k they will sell…or linger on. Yes it convinced us to buy a MYLR, never looked back, still smiling at 2 years in !

Stupid arguments as the contract manufacturer is Magna working better than any Brits company or French too. We had the Peugeot RCZ which also like Mercedes G-Class came from Magna being of much superior finition than any French made PSA product. The I-Pace is perfect in it’s finition but sorry to mention it’s the Jags design and engineering. Magna however also developed its own to e.g. help Fisker who came too late to sell as promised. Neither Magna to blame but as they have the expertise to build fine cars might be they should do it themselves and not work any longer for LEGO-manufacturers just putting parts together that often do not match. This is what makes TESLA so unique - their vertical integration that only fails when buying rain sensors from outside that do not work properly😂

It's interesting to see what happened to the iPace performing the Moose Test. The front wheel on the outside of the turn locked up and caused the driver to lose control. It was a software problem but I'm sure it was fixed in a software update.... wait, what? No OTA updates? Oh my...
It is a real simple --Tesle means electric car. Being a former Jag owner - Jag means an ice car with electrical problems and Audi means an overpriced VW with a different name.
More and more EVs are coming to market, the public will be dubbed into buying them, including Jags, Audis and VWs. Tesla should mean more than EV, Tesla should be known as the only EV in the US that is a proprietary, fully integrated EV, this means you are getting a product that works in harmony. When you buy a Tesla you are buying the equivalent of a smart phone, when you buy any other EV you are buying the equivalent of a flip phone.

don't think so, Tesla started 20 years ahead, not Elon but the real inventor, Eberhard and his colleague. For having 20 years of experience more, I don't think they are better, especially the Cybertruck, cool name, but the quality is really bad for a car that cost so much. With today energy prices an EV is more expansive as an ICE, and if you drive it in a sport mode, the range is decreasing rapidly, during harsh winter the same. Recycling is another big problem, nobody buy's a used EV, and after a crash the car is scrap!

Although the iPace and the Audi Q4 are more expensive than the Model Y, what is not reported is how much Jaguar and Audi are losing on each model.

All elektric functions are similar like range, efficiency and charging speed.

To get the tax incentive we needed a new EV. We have a Model 3 but did not like the loss of the indicator and drive selector stalks in the refreshed model. Furthermore, we live in a wet muddy country area and Tesla cameras are always obstructed so we did not like the fact the reversing sensors had been removed in the M3. I had an Audi A7 and I like a HUD, so was looking to get an Etron-GT but by the time you had put the extras on it, it was about £80K. As the new financial year approached we went for a BYD Seal Excellence. Same price as the Tesla M3 but it has a HUD and is more comfortable. It is a great drive but compared to the Tesla the MMI is terrible. Also, it has an LFP battery which does not charge as fast but gives more usable range than the M3 AWD.
Choice is good.

The only person I knew who got an ipace worked for Jaguar, they got rid of it because of the bad charging. Now they have a hybrid. Same with Audi, a person I know got one but they work for Audi. Germany has a good education system so most customers can read and do maths, therefore Tesla's outsell Audi/VW etc.

BMW first introduced the 48-volt mild hybrid system in July 2020 stated in ST-2007 48-Volt Electrical System a technical training manual from BMW.

I was planning my first full electric to be the I-Pace as I only really liked our companies Roadster and was not a fan of the for me too big Model S coming first. I waited until I saw by end 2021 in Milan the new Kia EV6 AWD which I was falling in love with. Good size no more outdated German Premium. The only similar also in performance Audi and BMW failed in all comparisons and only a Tesla always was adequate - but I even as a shareholder preferred the Kia but I am 73 and do neither like iPad & Co. The Tesla actually is also lower than Hyundai, Genesis or Kia of course compared with all in, that makes any German cars look really old and are from double to triple more expensive for the same!

I must say, I saw some of the ads Tesla ran on TH-cam. They were trying things out, I suppose. Dipping their toes in the advertising waters.
Well, the lack of commitment really showed. The ads lacked any of the qualities that effective advertising needs to have.
As a critic of consumerism, I'm no fan of the ad industry, and was happy to see Tesla take a different approach from legacy auto (they too often substitute good marketing for good product).
But, at the current juncture, some good advertising and marketing would go a long way to helping Tesla continue to grow and contribute further to the EV transition.
They need to take their advertising seriously, and bring in some real expertise.
It could increase their sales in the US by a few percent, maybe more. And it could shape consumer perception of the brand for decades to come.
So called "Libertarian" types are fond of downplaying the effects of advertising. The reality is that it has profound and lasting effects. The companies that dominate the retail market all invest VERY heavily in it.

Please consider this - Why cant we have a crew of 10 drivers driving (supervised) 10 hours each after every new version (ex 12.4 next) and then compare the versions in miles pr interventions (ex 12.3 vs 12.4) !? Each driver driving the same route each time with different situations , from highway to city centers, and with video of all hours as documentation. Only then we can identify progression in a objective way.
Because that's one hell of a project. And for what benefit? Tesla is already releasing those numbers from time to time and we have all kinds of reviewers all over the place to see that their numbers are probably 100% true.

The €730 includes 19% German Sales tax, in Denmark they add 150% in taxes and then 25% in sales tax (VAT) making it cost €1840

I do not understand this comparison with the Audi Q4 and Jaguar i-Pace. I haven't read that type of review in years, soo old. I think you should have done some comparisons with some newer EV's especially from China, especially BYD since tesla's are also manufactured in china, but that might be a little bit unsettling for your fan boy base. As far as range is concerned there is a lot of comments online from actual owners who get quite considerably less than the supposed 600 km range quoted, just do a quick search. As far as cost price of a tesla, the price to date (April-May 2024) the price has been dropping faster than a lead balloon. Also there are reports of new tesla's being stored in abandoned shopping centre car parks and at airports. I have also noted a serious amount of hype (read that as bullshit) generated online lately by the fanboy base and elon musk to try and influence the June 13 shareholder vote. If you still believe all the BS snake oil claims, then I can put you on to a nigerian prince who needs your help to get his fortune out of the country. Too many Americans, Europeans, and Japanese still think of EVs as "good for the environment" but cost too much, sacrifice convenience, or are not reliable. In my experience, most people may say they care about the environment but want other people to sacrifice. They are not willing and don't care enough about the environment to make any changes in what they are used to. Some may even feel their way of life is threatened. They don't line anything new. So the more EVs are marketed as green, the less these people are interested. Marketing them as "frugal" is also not a good idea, as they want luxury and status (good looks, exclusivity, conspicuous consumption) at the best price. They see the growth of cheap EV sales in China as frugality. This is why Elon marketed Tesla as high-performance and luxury. Now, there are plenty of Americans and Europeans who would like an inexpensive EV to replace the lower-priced ICE and used ICE they currently drive. The government banked on that when they backed EV production in China. But margins of a M2 would be low and require high volume production. A profitable, but not very exciting business model under constant competitive pressure from Chinese models. No wonder Elon is focusing instead on AI, FSD, and robotaxis. Elon is like a big kid. He likes to make WOW toys, space ships, cybertrucks, robots. He wants to bring the future to life. Selling a shit ton of inexpensive EVs to the masses is boring and follows the old paradigm of privately owned cars sitting unused most of the time. Robotaxis would have much higher utilization and would cycle out quicker, needing to be replaced with more efficient or better models.

Already many people in the EU ride bicycles or walk to work. Many take public transit and do not own a car. These people plus millions that now own cars will forgo car ownership if robo-taxis are available at scale. The auto market will collapse to less than half of what it is now and will continue to diminish. Game Over.
For those doubting this because Uber is already there and people still buy cars.....Uber is expensive. What happens when taxis prices go down in price to less than $0.20/1.5km ?? People will save thousands of dollars by not owning a car and just taking a taxis everywhere.

there are a few issues with EVs, from the range that is not right to the lack of infrastructure and the non-existent used car market. In winter, even more problems arose: the high price of energy makes driving an EV car more expensive than an ICE car and in the event of an accident, the car is a total write-off because the battery can no longer be used, which makes insurance more expensive.

Jaguar make luxury cars, Tesla don't. The I-Pace is a far better car than anything Tesla has built - but the Teslas are better EVs.

Of course high end is already electric, ICE has lost that battle. Only battle left is in the low end affordable market. Tesla is the iPhone of cars and will never release a $25k or $20k car - they will of course focus on other things. FSD is Teslas real cash cow and can be compared to Apple Market Place.
The car market, meanwhile, MG, BYD, Kia and Volvo are in the prime position to overtake, while Tesla is busy chasing 'dem rich folks.

In corporate it's about raw and ugly politics. They want to bring Elon Musk to boot. In retail there is currently genuine concern for those with large holdng in Tesla. This vote has introduced huge risk to long term groiwth and some have realised that they are overexposed to this politicaly motivated campaign against Musk.
