It's not going well. You are Aron Dunce. You're a receptionist at the Hotel Golden Bowl. The year is 2013. One day something unexplainable happens. Every person on earth, all 7 billion of them turn into you. Every person on earth has now been turned into a copy of you. In every way they think they are the original Aron Dunce. They have your memories, your experiences and your appearance. They even have your personality. You walk outside and see that the people on the streets are copies of you. They seem just as confused as you are. You approach a group. "Hey," you say, "how did this happen?" "We're not sure," one says, "we were at work just a moment ago." You try to remember what happened at your office. "So all of you have my memories?" You ask. "No, you all have my memories." One of them say. "I guess since we're all Aron Dunce down to the slightest detail it's hard to say whether we're different people at all now." You explain. Suddenly a police car driving nearby stops to investigate the commotion. "Let's go over here." One of them says. You follow them and watch as several copies of yourself approach the police car. The policeman who steps out of the car is also you. You watch as the police officers take a few of you into custody. "Why?" You wonder, "I haven't done anything wrong." The policeman walks over to you. "What's going on here?" He asks. You explain the situation as you know it. The policeman seems quite confused as well. "I've never heard of anything like this before." He says, "But you're also me. Why are you arresting those copies?" "I'm not sure, but until I know what's going on, I'm going to keep everyone under arrest until this case is solved." You watch as the police car backs away.
imagine if every viral particle and single celled organism on earth instantly transformed into a fully grown Phillip at once. In theory resulting mass of Phillip would weigh several orders of magnitude more than the sun and due to the tight initial packing cause a fusion explosion which would be like a supernova and turn earth into a neutron star.
Hold on there sport. If we are doing phisics here let me remind you nothing can be created out of nothing. So there wouls be world wide fusion. Tho mass would stay same i think there would be more philip than earth in that sennairo so many of them would die instantly since they would be half made. And then rest of them would suficate since all the air is now philip.
Why stop there? Every bush, every tree, every rock, every planet, every star instantly transforms into a Phillip all at once. Every mote of dust in every cloud across the universe transforms into Phillip.
I sometimes think about a similar question: What if everyone in the world suddenly made it their only goal to murder YOU? How long would you survive in your given scenario/location? I imagine cars frantically trying to crash into me, people jumping out of their windows to try and land on me or trekking through wilderness to get to me. You can play with the rules a bit as well, does everyone suddenly know where you are and what you look like or do they have to figure that out?
I live whit my parents at an apartment. I would last as long as my door holds + the time it takes for me to fall from 8th floor. I am commiting suiside since fuck you the whole world if everybody wants to kill me no one gets to. I am stealing your fun.
About 30 minutes before a murder occurs, as I tend to... imagine fighting myself as the greatest test of my willpower, strength and coordination. So, there'd be fighting all across the globe.
Knee jerk reaction is either nearly instantly or never. I feel like if I could go over a day without killing another me around the world, then I’d probably never end up doing it.
...until you bump into a you that is living a miserable life in excruciating pain, and it's begging for your to end it for them. Would you not (assuming you can't actually make it any better otherwise)?
@@Dicska For me i would probebly would kill myself before asking someone else to do it since i dont wana give someone mental isues. Also i would have acses to guns/strong poisons therefor an easy end.
I think a question like this should be started with the definition of what makes a person. I interpret it as everyone will be like I am right now: same age, same looks, same sex, same mind, same thoughts, same knowledge, etc. exact copies of me. With that being said, it wouldn't take too long for someone to get murdered I'd imagine. There would be many, many accidents happening all around the world as none of my clones would immediately understand or know the situation they are in. For example how many of my clones would figure out the job of a pilot before they crash? That's just the tip of the iceberg, really, what about facilities, services, politics? It will be chaotic. If regardless all the miserable situations my clones still avoid murdering each other there is one point where they will: with the inevitable extinction of humankind approaching I don't think many of me could keep their sanity so that has to be the breaking point. Someone will be murdered.
It would probably take a few seconds till millions of Highlander style killing sprees start. With every single one of all the me's trying to secure my status as the one trueborn king of me.
I regularly judge my actions by: what if everyone did that? In a way it is the same question. Would a society of myselfs (same morals and thinking but otherwise normal. Different ages, locations etc) prosper or crumble? I try to be a sustainable version of me in other words. Realistically I think your different selfes would diverge from one another over time (imagine being a rebellious teen in that scenario... How awfull if everyone was like you) and it would become more or less like it was before... Or everyone would go insane in a few days and murder each other. Society is very delicate after all.
1 second, when everyone suddenly transforms into me there is a chance that it would be exactly when someone commits murder thus someone killing someone at that time would turn into me killing me
If this question is expecting that if the world would only be filled with a single culture, mindset, lifestyle, ability, behaviour, or whatever I am right now, I feel like everyone will be the same for the first minute. But then the diverse environment everyone lives in affects how their life, and they will be a different person from the original me. It's like my experience, I had a friend since kindergarten. We are not necessarily shares the same stuff, in fact, she's a girl, we used to play together just as a young kid. But we can play together that actually I don't really know why would I spend time with her. Then later I moved out to a different city and never have contact to her any more. Years later she found me on FB, and we started to have a connection once again. But overtime I really feel like she has become a very different person, and so I am. She live in a religious and conservative environment while I mostly spend time on the internet that is exposed to many mindsets, mostly liberal way of thinking. And those really affects us that we are now will likely to have an argument about different things that we do. I can't really enjoy chatting with her any more. I always avoid certain topics to avoid arguments. I cannot befriend with her like how we used to be 10 years ago. --- To answer that question, a murder will definitely happen. Given the fact that I may go to a 'short-minded' mode when I am under a heavy pressure emotionally, I can go murder anyone but seems like self-murder will likely to happen more. The event will probably occur on several weeks after the initial passive-aggressive conflict started between my clones.
In my world, me vs me single combat duels to the death would become a hugely popular sport, with an intricate meta developing around it. What's the best way to fight me? What's the best way to defend against me? Is it better not to follow optimal strategy to surprise me? Would that make not following the meta the meta? Is the other me thinking the same thing? Should I just ignore all this meta analysis and focus on fighting as best as I can? If the other me is doing the same, what gives me the edge? It would be a very entertaining sport. Commentated by me in real time, of course.
If we go on to it with the assumption that all the me's are like me only from a moral compass/ideology way but with their own path in life to have a fully working society with every job filled, then I feel like it'd probably take a while before a murder happens. All I know is that if it was to happen it would be a teen me that would do it as I remember my mental state at some point in my teens when dealing with bullying and self esteem problems. I thought a lot about killing a bully but since i've always been an overthinker i'd realise what a mistakd it would be luckily. But maybe one of the me's would be pushed over the edge and do it in a moment of weakness...
If "everyone becomes you" literally means everyone becoming an exact copy of me, all the "me"s would probably immediately panic from suddenly not being where they just were (and worse even if they were flying a plane or doing surgery) so probably happen very quickly and in multiple ways
I've always thought about what would happen if everyone was me, but their skills are different and they're equally incompetent as me. I'm in a trade school right now to master the three major types of welding, and I'm about halfway through. In this scenario, everyone on the planet would be learning their own specific trade, but wouldn't be proficient enough to be employed. Would everyone essentially do everything in their backyard? Mechanics would perform oil changes in their driveways for 20 bucks, farmers would rely heavily on gardening, software development would essentially screech to a halt while everyone simultaneously looks at the documentation for Python, and so much more. How long would it take for a murder you ask? I give it 12 seconds until someone drives a forklift into a set of shelves and a box of misplaced cinderblocks falls from the top and flattens a guy Tom and Jerry style.
I'm genuinley happy phillip001 decided to contunue with this style of videos. I absoluteley love how many topics he's managed to ping pong betweeen. That nightwalker video was such a vibe reminded and me of all those times i used to go out in the dead of night freezing my ass off pondering on the same questions he asked his self about everybodies life behind thier curtains. Heres to more years of him having fun with the medium!!!! (and hopefully making dosh to go with it).
The moment that everyone becomes you, I think it's likely that a murder is happening at the same time and even if you wanted to stop it you wouldn't be able to.
IMMEADAITELY... I have a strong sense of self preservation and at-least two of me would find myself locked in a battle for survival: _two of me falling out of an airplane with only one parachute, me locked in a death grip being stabbed stabbing, me eating the last Oreo trapped aboard a survival raft adrift at sea._ However, past the initial chaos of presumably the whole of humanity everyone that was becoming me, I'd agree about a lot of things and it's not in my nature to want to impose my will on others; even other me's. There'd then be a long quite period of introspection, where I procrastinated and nothing got done but then the internet would go off.... Then I'd probably feel home sick and all 7-8 billion of me would return home at once to start the humanity self-cooking apocalypse. Probably the only exception to this being the original me, who'd be having a paranoid breakdown over the prospect of that many me's and simply run for the hills.
But that brings up the question, what is you? Do you classify everyone of you as a different person, do they have your life experience or the one of the person they replace, does physical appearance make you, only you? If you kill the you with different memories is that murder?
As you already said, a world where all humans suddenly have any one persons level of knowledge and nothing beyond that would soon turn to chaos. The scenario becomes more fruitful if everyones knowledge remains in place, but their personality is replaced by yours and they have (parts of) your knowledge on top of their own. -Do some professions/positions require a certain personality type, or do your new experiences in this field quickly shape you into a person close to whoever you replaced? -If you could only give a handful of thoughts/insights/memories on to every human on earth, what would you choose?
If all the mes live different lives, then it doesn’t matter that they are mes, they will eventually be different people with different views of the world, so I don’t think it will be long until the normal murder ratio comes back.

Time to get to work!" And it'd be absolute carnage, I don't know when or if all the me's would realize the situation and stop before going extinct.
i tried to explain a similar thing to my friend when i asked him what he would do if he could clone himself once a day. i told him that if he was going to kill his own clone to fake his death, then the clone would know that since the one would have the memories of the orginal person wanting to kill a clone, so the clone, knowing it would be killed, would essentially try and kill the original person for self preservation.
If everyone was me mind-like, life would get boring fast for a while, we would all have the same thoughts, the same taste and go on. Maybe suicide rates would go up, and it would not be long till a murder happens, since I feel like I especially need someone to talk to, someone interesting, I need another person with other thoughts to debate and stuff. With all the world having the same thoughts and stuff, I'm sure everyone would either go insane in a few hours or be bored till they kill someone/themselves ( or shall I say myself? )
Do other people not create personas whit spesific world vievs to debate themselfs in their mind? It is a common time waster of mine and it does also allow me to better know myself.

Sometimes playing video games that require team work and jolly co-operation I think "This would be so much easier if there were more of me". If I was to make a CSGO team of players that are just me I believe the first murder would take place in that CSGO games as I know that at some points I would make mistakes and I also know how I'd react to those mistakes if someone else did them. Arguements would break out and I know I will never back down. The arguing would be endless and eventually one of me would break. I'd purchase an AWP and it would be over for that poor version of me that picked a fight over the internet with me. But it would all be worth it as the other team of Mes would be succeeding on the enemy team.
How about all the prisoners who became you would they still be criminals people who have broke the law or would everyone be pardoned emptying the prisons completely
I guess that depends on how you feel about imprisoning yourself for something you didn't do, since it was the original prisoner who commited the crime, not you.
I wouldn't label it as murder, because if one of me can justify it, then all except the one being murdered can justify it. Unless you account for a multiple personality disorder...

@@linecraftman3907 because you know where you were and what you were doing before the cloning. You can safely assume the one that was doing that *after* is the original
I actually randomly thought of this scenario yesterday, so here goes. In my scenario every person on earth instantaneously turns into a carbon copy of me. All of me know only what I knew sitting at my desk right before it happened. Clothes won't fit, everyone in an air plane is done for, some of me will get crushed because the person I replaced was carrying something I couldn't, etc. Everybody knows who the original is and everybody also knows it doesn't matter as we're all identical anyway. The first thought that crosses my mind is food: there won't be enough because I don't know how to sustain the infrastructure we currently all live off of. The second thought is something like: "Oh no.... I'm going to have to figure all that crap out. Ugh!" What happens next depends entirely on where I am located. It's probably just a matter of time before the internet (for learning skills and communicating), running water, electricity and food run out or stop working. If I'm in a place where I can immediately do something about, or sustain this infrastructure I'll probably focus on that. If I'm not I'd probably stop to think... Because of my lack of knowledge about how our societies sustain themselves we're most likely going to end up without enough food and water for everyone who is currently alive. In other words: A lot of me's are going to die. Next to that I mostly just can't be arsed to learn about complicated things I don't really care about. Now, I'd like to think I would die for myself, but I've never interacted with myself in third person. Maybe there'd be fear, but I betting that there would be compassion, understanding and kindness. .... Woah I've been sitting here a long time. All goals would just fall away. After all, whats there to do? Live on? Who cares. There is nothing to 'do'. The entire society of acquisition we currently live in (work for money so you can buy stuff, pay rent, live on.) would collapse instantly. I don't care about 'things' and with everyone being me the obligation of survival that I have towards my family and close ones has also disappeared. There's no need to maintain life as we know it. I can just die, no big deal. Why would I exert myself and do things I don't want to do (like learning about nuclear reactors, or bricklaying, or city planning and then actually doing those things. Ugh!) to maintain things I don't care about? Also, without any women humanity is only going to last one generation anyway! There is only 1 thing that is important to me and that is companionship. I'd just try to have a good time with me, for as long as it lasts. Maybe I'd try to build something good for myself. Maybe we'd all give up on life. Maybe we all descend into conflict? That seems unlikely. I don't know what I could do that would make an identical copy of me not understand my behaviour and wish for my destruction. So when would the first murder happen? Probably immediately, when I transform into someone who was about to be murdered. But an actual -murder- where I intend to kill myself because I am afraid or something? No idea. Might happen quickly or never at all. If I think about it again this all seems stupid and like it would go way differently. I've sat here for an hour. I'm leaving. Anyway I hope someone reads all this, if not, at least I learned something about what's important to me in this life. And what is not. Thanks Philip.
when everybody on the planet would turn into me, in like half a day everybody would be diffrent again, because of the diffrent experience everybody would find themselves in.
i estimate it would take a few days to a week, because assuming everyone was a clone of me, it would get to the point where we’d begin compiling a massive database of what everything feels like, because i’m the best at describing things to myself, and murder would probably be one of the top ones, it would just take time to organise which clone/s of me would be involved
The question is if the knowledge and experience across the yous is synced. If not, then within seconds no one is you anymore because people change and you do too. So you wouldn't know the yous like you know yourself anymore.
Thanks for the interesting and fun character question to ask in job interviews lol. I usually struggle to think of questions to ask at the end of a job interview.
I imagine at some point a version of me in a violent rage will shove a different version of me that version of me will then tragically fall on a comically mediocre sized rock cracking open his neck or head killing him within moments then the killer version of me will either snap out of his rage and try to hide the body of me in a dumpster somewhere or that version of me suddenly develops a taste for blood and goes on a violent rampage which will result In a bunch of me teaming up to kill the violent me but then those versions of me will also develop a taste for blood and before you know it its ww3 but its all a bunch of incompetent nerds with sharpened sticks.
Wait but this is an easy one actually. Since the problem implies an arbitrary starting point at which everyone turns into me and the timer starts, it would be pretty reasonable to assume that somewhere in the world a murder is already in progress at the same time as the timer starts so it would literally take 0 seconds for a murder to occur when everyone in the world is me.
There'd just be a lot of forgiving and letting shit go. Meditation, mindfulness and therapy work. That's the beauty of it. Before I learned to control my anger... My god. There wouldn't be much murder. But there'd be A LOT of torture.
Around 5 minutes I wouldn't even be surprised if everybody lived with the sheer madness of having billions of me, just having 1 me is already crazy man.
I wish I could clone myself so I could work on all my ideas that are stuck in my head. This would probably lead to many new ideas which would require even more clones of me... a never ending cycle.
Something like 3 or 5 years I think. If everyone in the world was me, there would initially be a very something of a degree of solidarity to one's fellow me. First this novelty needs to ware off, and then I need to do something which warrants murder from someone else - I don't recreationally murder. Maybe I try to rise to dictatorial power a few times and I go to war with myself or something. Point being there would be significant delays but it would ware off eventually as the world in it's infinite chaos continually rolls the dice on whether or not to kill someone in the next five seconds.

"Hey," you say, "how did this happen?"
"We're not sure," one says, "we were at work just a moment ago."
You try to remember what happened at your office.
"Why?" You wonder, "I haven't done anything wrong."
The policeman walks over to you.
"What's going on here?" He asks.
You explain the situation as you know it. The policeman seems quite confused as well.
"I've never heard of anything like this before." He says,
"But you're also me. Why are you arresting those copies?"
"I'm not sure, but until I know what's going on, I'm going to keep everyone under arrest until this case is solved."
You watch as the police car backs away.
The Police one totally embraced his new life and started abusing his new found power.

imagine if every viral particle and single celled organism on earth instantly transformed into a fully grown Phillip at once.

About 30 minutes before a murder occurs, as I tend to... imagine fighting myself as the greatest test of my willpower, strength and coordination. So, there'd be fighting all across the globe.
Knee jerk reaction is either nearly instantly or never. I feel like if I could go over a day without killing another me around the world, then I’d probably never end up doing it.
...until you bump into a you that is living a miserable life in excruciating pain, and it's begging for your to end it for them. Would you not (assuming you can't actually make it any better otherwise)?

If I knew there was even one person on the planet Earth with my face and memories I would start sweating.
THIS is the content we all love
It would probably take a few seconds till millions of Highlander style killing sprees start. With every single one of all the me's trying to secure my status as the one trueborn king of me.

Only the mettest survive
I regularly judge my actions by: what if everyone did that? In a way it is the same question. Would a society of myselfs (same morals and thinking but otherwise normal. Different ages, locations etc) prosper or crumble? I try to be a sustainable version of me in other words.
Realistically I think your different selfes would diverge from one another over time (imagine being a rebellious teen in that scenario... How awfull if everyone was like you) and it would become more or less like it was before... Or everyone would go insane in a few days and murder each other. Society is very delicate after all.
1 second, when everyone suddenly transforms into me there is a chance that it would be exactly when someone commits murder thus someone killing someone at that time would turn into me killing me
I think if the whole world was me, the first murder would happen in the first day, just because I am absolutely incapable of anything.
Who needs "5 minutes with Phil" when I could have my own Phil clone to spend forever with?
I think this video might be a teaser for the upcoming new channels, up to at least "7794798739kliksphilip".
my first name is Denton, I actually jumped when he made the deus ex joke
For me, there never would be a murder. Because we would be too busy being boring shut-ins.
Every single copy of me would try to get the world first murder, so I'll give it about 20 seconds to a full minute.
---
To answer that question, a murder will definitely happen. Given the fact that I may go to a 'short-minded' mode when I am under a heavy pressure emotionally, I can go murder anyone but seems like self-murder will likely to happen more. The event will probably occur on several weeks after the initial passive-aggressive conflict started between my clones.
Thanks for summoning my Alexa and asking her about murder, appreciate it Phil xx

The homesick apocalypse
If every human turned into me half way through a murder, there'd be a murder in under a minute
I'm just gonna sit down relax and reading all of the comments
As me, either 2 seconds or never. Nothing in between.
simple, there would be no murders, as me killing me is technically a suicide.
Thank you for giving me something to talk about with people

@@darkhope97 i guess it would be an absolute chaos , most of the population would die out , but after time every 'me' would adapt to their enviroment and get shaped to something completely different , if reproduction is somehow possible , after a few generations the world would be the same as now

I've always promised myself if a clone of me showed up it's hunt or be hunted. So if the entire world was just clones of me all the sudden every single one would think, "Wow that's a lot of clones...

Ugh!"
What happens next depends entirely on where I am located.
