I wish there was a love button because I'd be hitting the heck out of it. I absolutely LOVE this song it's one of my favorite Irish songs. "Up the rushy mountain down the stormy Glenn we don't go hunting for fear of little men." The imagery of the lyrics are captivating. You did a lovely fiddle rendition of the song.
You don't need a costume, darlin'. Love to watch you play, the emotions that play across your face. I will admit,however, I do enjoy the costumes! What a set of abs! Great song, great gal.

So glad you play it at this tempo Jenny! It's the way I like to play it, but often musicians feel they have to force the pace and they miss the lilt!

I have been playing / teaching myself how to play for 8 months on and off, I have they first part down pat, the second part I am having trouble with. It's hard being 55 years old and playing an instrument for the first time ever. your videos help so much thank you.

The Irish have some great names for their tunes. Ie "Merrily kissed the Quaker, " Old hag you have killed me", Drowsy Maggie", Bean Padin", which means Paddy"S woman., Nil sin na la, which is a song about partying till the sun comes up.

Great tune! Do you know kid on the mountain? It starts in the key of Eminor. It is a slip-jig. I used to listen to the Bothy- band.- killer Ir-trad music.

I've immediatly recognized the song but is indeed slower than the "Alan Stivell" 's version that I know well. Still relaxing to listen to, adding emotion in it IMO. Thanks for posting.

The Tain ( toyne ) and The Book of Invasions . .great crossover Celtic Music . .olso check out everything by The Bothy Band . .inspirational , both artistes . .love your music Jenny . .your a great talent

Always love the sound of the fiddle - very rich and warm sounding. Of course, the wood has had a chance to open up with all of the playing. What type of strings do you use on it?
I'm using Eva Pirazzi by Pirastro. I also really like Helicore which aren't quite so spendy. :)
