I'm a type unmentioned: the one who walks up to someone playing crappy singer-songwriter shit or minimal music at a public piano, asking them 'do you happen to know any Chopin?' while giving them a stare that instills sheer terror in them, then proceed to do a 1.5 hour long recital including the first 2 Chopin Ballades and Barcarolle and Schubert's D960 sonata from memory.

@@--TOM-- Daniel Trashers piano isn't that expensive - at least not anymore, and he doesn't seem overconfident to me. Seems like a fairly decent pianist - though he's no virtuoso either
You forgot the worst one: The guy who doesn't know when to use the sustain pedal, so he just keeps his foot slammed down on it through the whole piece (me).
I did that when I was first learning
Just lift off when it sounds like too much and then press back down, not as hard as it seems.
@@ronan1686, well yeah, I get that part. When I lift, however, whatever was sustained previously cuts off too quickly, so it doesn't have that smooth transition. There's a lot more to it than just lifting and pressing back down.

The fact this person could EVEN CONSIDER themselves to be a musician baffles me. The intro of this video (Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu) has an EXTREME LACK of CLARITY in ALL the notes with mistakes after mistakes. If you are going to be a musician you must not be sloppy, and MUST STRIVE for clarity.

@@loganplays6455 if I remember correctly, pianos have this thing called “piano rolls” where you play a song and it records it so you can play back the roll and the piano essentially plays itself.
@@syes4938 but the keys went down, too. I’ve only used keyboards and not real pianos but wouldn’t it be for pianos that it was just a recording? Like, the correct notes wouldn’t go down?

Fun Fact: As a musician I really hate when people play songs faster. There's a reason why a particular speed was chosen, playing it faster doesn't mean you're better than the original composer.
