Great job. Haven’t used my Rupes Duetto in years, just pulled it out to polish an epoxy table I’m working on. Found your video, got me psyched to do my cars. The Jeep has either a single stage paint (clear and base coat mixed together) when they painted the hood or thats simply just dirt in your pad which is the result of oxidation being removed. I couldn’t tell from the angle and the shot too far to say which is which, if that’s black paint, Then it’s a single stage paint. If I may suggest for next time , have a better lighting or do your videos outside or something and have a close up and a 3-4 foot shot of the before and after. U have a good topic/content and that’s a plus u just need to expand/explain it further, where u can relate to beginners up to the advance Detailer. None the less keep the creative juice flowing and keep improving that’s the key. Jmho
I appreciate the input. That hood was definitely re-sprayed at some point with single stage. Definitely have been working on the lighting and camera angles.
It's too bad Rupes didn't put all of their polishers in the Duetto style chassis. I hate the rotary style polishers. Hell, I wish the rotaries had that chassis.
I could definitely see that working. Although lately when I need more cut I find myself turning back to the rotary. Honestly the 21 is the machine I use the least. I really want to try a forced rotation. I'm thinking mid-summer I'm finally gonna pick up a Mille.
I agree that it won't on big flat panels but I'm curious about how well a forced rotation will do on something with a lot of concave and complex curves, like newer BMW's. Even with the Mk. 3, I find I always have to make at least one more set of passes to correct the scratches in those curves. I feel like a forced rotation would power right through those areas.

Put 5" backing plate to 21 and it cuts even more!

@@luxurycardetailingthehamptons i usually dont use my rotary. I had Mille but sold it. Doesnt.correct as quick as long throws.
Luxury Car Detailing in the Hamptons the Mille, Makita or Flex 3401 will not cut as quickly as a 21mm.
