Solar Powered Mobile Detailing Setup
My Mobile Detailing setup has come a long way over the 6 years that I've been detailing as a business. Over the last year I've completely re-vamped my setup to make it more efficient and user friendly. I've not only changed the layout but added some electrical equipment I haven't seen anyone else using. Namely a solar generator and solar panels. I also added some creature comforts that make my day to day better. There's a lot here, so it's a bit of a long video, but may give some great ideas if you're looking to create a setup for yourself.

Rupes Duetto Brush Replacement
มุมมอง 5002 ปีที่แล้ว
After 5 Years (2.5 years full time) of using my Rupes Duetto for my car detailing business I started wondering how long the brushes last. For those that don't know, the carbon brushes are electrical components that wear down over time as they transfer electricity to the moving parts of the motor. These are meant to be a wear item and are easily serviceable. In this video I'll take my LHR12e apa...

Cyclone Blower for Drying Cars
มุมมอง 5433 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I'll talk about a blower that I use for drying off cars in my detailing business. It's actually a piece of pool equipment from my last job that I repurposed for gently removing water from the exterior. The Cyclone blower is something I used for winterizing pools and once I left pools to detail full time I decided to see how well it will work for thoroughly drying cars off. The res...

3D 505 vs. Victory Nano Polish and Seal ( which is best? )
มุมมอง 1.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I'll compare and contrast my 2 most used polishing products in my mobile detailing business. Both 3D 505 and Drive Auto Appearance's Victory Nano Polish and Seal are great All-In-One polishes, but is one better than the other? Both give you paint correction and paint sealant capability. Buff and Shine Dark Blue Heavy Polishing Pad (for 1 step)

I've tried these dark blue pads from Buff and Shine recently with an all-in-one polish and loved the results. Carpro Essence and CQuartz together forever?

    Interesting Mod to the fan shroud! I'm now wondering if I could do something similar to my 2008 JK Diesel? I have seen the shrouds cut across half way down with small plates to reconnect. Is that long spanner custom or can you actually buy those with extra length? Thanks for uploading.

      If it's a similar shroud, I don't see why it wouldn't work. The spanner wasn't custom, I bought it from a tool truck that was stopped at a local automotive repair shop.

      Thanks! I love running off of batteries, not only for the quietness, but you would need a massive generator to have the startup amps available that these inverters have. Not to mention the ability to have solar coming in.

    That liano garden hose is great ... I am still cleaning windows and hard at 58... Trust me if you eat good , avoid booze and ciggerettes you will be able to work effective for many more years. If i can give one word of advice to the detailers.. it is buy a 40/40 reverse osmosis system for your home and install a 300 to 500 Liter in your van and carry the soft water with you to the jobs.. You could have the 40/40 Reverse osmosis Water filter system on a trolley to transport to the job if a lot of water is needed ; you could use a booster pump with the 40 /40 to produce water even quicker... You could also if you wanted to jump into solar panel cleaning and earn a lot more or simply mix jobs for making your workong life non mundane and increasing revenue.. ( keeping things fresh )

    • @luxurycardetailingthehamptons
      @luxurycardetailingthehamptons 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment. I wonder how the cost of the reverse osmosis would compare to the DI system. It costs me about $100/month for the DI refills. I decided not to carry water because of the extra wear and tear on both the trailer and tow vehicle. Also, my setup is already at 3,000 lbs and the max on the trailer is 3500. So even a 300L tank is more weight than I have left.

    "Do you realize that you can pull those hoses out at almost 90°?" - huh? Im pretty sure that those hoses have to go back, on the reel Questions: - Since you are only pulling the hoses out, would'nt it have been cheaper to not use hose reels at all? - After you are finished with a job and drive home, do you just drag the pressure washer hose down the street - because you don't retract the hoses? - Do you also reel the pressure washer hose in @ 90°? I would love to see you contort your body, could you post a video, i have to see it. Pretty pleeese. - I reel my pressure hose, faced away from the reel & i only broke my left arm twice & my right arm once. 😂

    • @luxurycardetailingthehamptons
      @luxurycardetailingthehamptons 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the feedback. But if you're going to offer criticism, make it constructive. Why doesn't it make sense? Do you realize that you can pull those hoses out at almost 90°? So the direction really doesn't matter. The pressure washer reel takes up less space mounted the way it is. Most of the layout was thought out to maximize space and make everything easy to access.

    This is a great video. I have so many questions as I run my own car detailing business. Do you find that you have trouble maneuvering your trailer in and out of jobs with the 10,000 are you able to run all of your equipment at the same time or does the generator that you’re using ever trip? Where did you find the solar power generator? That thing is a beast?

    • @luxurycardetailingthehamptons
      @luxurycardetailingthehamptons 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for checking out the video. I have no issue maneuvering the trailer. It's small and I pull it with either my Jeep or F150 RCSB which both have a tight turning radius, allowing me to get it in and out of some tight spots. The Bluetti AC500 has no problem running all the equipment. It can run the pressure washer, air compressor and vacuum simultaneously. So yes, it's a beast. I ordered the unit directly from Bluetti. If you're thinking of going the solar/battery route, I would recommend purchasing a Kill-A-Watt meter beforehand to measure how much electricity you use throughout the day, so you can properly size your battery storage.

    That’s a lot or Wear and tear scrubbin like that imo. Mean it wasn’t that bad. Regular soap diluted in water will do the same. I’d you have to scrub some soft scrub is fine. Used to detail for a while and hot and a little soap will do wonders. And I don’t know if you vacuumed before but that’s the very first step.

Wasnt tight. Anyways the extra friction from the rubber shroud popping under the backing plate has burnt up the velcro off my backing plate and alot of pads haha. Im just starting and learning. I wonder if i should just send it in for repairs or Get the washer or oil it? Only has like 20-30 hours run time

    Pretty sure that Carpro recommends waiting 24hrs after Essence is applied, then coat with Cquartz or use an IPA wipe after curing for at least 1 hour (that’s my understanding) Nice job on the Tesla. I have a midnight silver Tesla and my paint is constantly getting swirls. The clear coat is just really soft and thin. I use Essence because it has a low cut when using a finishing pad and fillers for the swirl marks.
