I'm about to take the C1 Advanced and your video came in handy for me to unwind a bit, I got all the answers correct! Despite I've been swotting up on mock tests and vocabulary books, I'm not sure if I'm made for the exam yet Btw, your previous video about idioms was a breath of fresh air! Thank you so much
Good luck! I am sure you’ll ace the exam. May I give you an error correction to help on the way? ’Despite’ has a similar meaning to ’even though’, but it has different grammar: despite + noun or gerund. So you could say, ’Despite swotting up etc’ or ’Despite the fact I’ve been swotting up etc’. It is a small point, but examiners always pay attention to how you use connectors, so it may help.
Sure! Please follow me on instagram. I am going to starr doing instagram lives soon. I also have a course that includEs live lessons. I will start advertising soon.
you look so beautiful and enthusiastic talking and teaching English. Thanks for your efforts. I could say my level is B2 however I managed to answer some fill-in-the-blank of c1 and c2. Yet I couldn't describe any picture even that of A1! I felt like my mind froze! I was like oh my god what should I say? I don't know how to describe things nor do i know what are the crucial part that can't be missed. is this some kind of a skill on its own? I have another problem. sometimes I find myself knowing some sophisticated and high register expressions and idioms , and on other times struggling with very basic vocabulary like kitchen appliances, parts of the house, describing the road! I mean there is neither consistency nor reliability in my language. I don't feel comfortable with all the specification you mentioned a B2 level could do. I am an introvert and I get mind blocks talking in my mother tongue in front of people i don't know, but when talking in my mind and to myself in my mother tongue I turn into the most complete speaker in this world. I know these mind blocks might require me visiting a psychiatrist, but anyway I don't mind them. I just want my English language be a reliable B2. is it possible? or should I stop trying?
The mental block that you describe is -really- common. Maybe I should make a video about it. You certainly shouldn't feel alone. The best advice I can give is be gentle with yourself. It is ok to have gaps in your vocabulary. The skill you need to develop is called circumlocution. And you develop that just by communicating with others. Get a study partner! th-cam.com/video/60H6_c9LUQU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Rwz9izlgmDpUKQBK The skill will come. ❤️
Fair enough. You do need more than 3 questions to really judge a level, of course. Did you also get 3/3 for the C1 questions, and did you do the C2 speaking task well? If you want, you can write your answer to the speaking task here & I can give you feedback on your response.
Hello! Please feel free to call me Pam. To be at a certain English level you need the vocabulary, grammar and the skills of that level. I recommend focusing on vocabulary-building. It's the fun part of English study, anyway :).
Genuinely a helpful video to understand what exactly is my English language. thank you!
Glad it helped!

Nice ! good thoughtful video objective. I assume mostly students are curious to know the level of their English. Good work teacher.
Thank you! This one took a looong time to make!
Another great vid, thanks heaps. A struggling C1 for me, I guess. 😅
It’s been a long time since we’ve spoken, but you certainly seemed like you weren’t struggling, and gave the impression of C2!
I am A2
Great! I wish you al the best on your journey to B1!
Thank you so much 💖
My level is B2
That’s a great level! You’ve already done most of the heavy work with grammar, and now can enjoy the fun of exploring weird and wonderful vocabulary.
