(1) You shouldn’t have. (2) you’ve outdone yourself! (3) It's the thought that counts!
Truly scrumptious...
Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you 🥰
Thanks for the thank you! ❤️
You can tell me about your accent. But don't give me instructions regarding my own.
Why not? Adapting your speech to your mood, your environment, your point is a marker of a really proficient speaker. I would never say: You must always say 'Java good time?' But I don't see anything wrong with teaching people how to pronounce things in a 'natural' (ie friendly, relaxed) way. I also teach other lessons about how to sound fancy (ie formal, well-educated).
Thanks❤
Thank you!!! 🙏
Thank you for this quick but wonderful and important information, but I wonder what the answer will be? By the way, let me tell you that you are very beautiful. Thank you.
The answer depends on whether they had a good time or not, if they didn't they will say "I did not have a good time because _" or "Yes it went well", and then they might tell you more or it becomes your turn to ask them about it or change the subject depending on context
Thank you for the compliment! If you ask someone 'Did you have a good time?', they'll usually answer, 'Yes, I did' or 'Not really'.
^ This.
@@NEOEnglishwithPam Thank you for the answer. I was a little confused about whether to answer "yes I did" or "yes I have". I am a little weak in grammar. Thank you.

Yes! 👍
Depends on how hungry you are... The word "scrumptious," by the way, has a life of its own: it will occur to you when it is appropriate, not before. You will know that it is the wrong word if you try saying it when it isn't fitting. In all cases, it is a mouthful.
😁
The scrumptious word ever 😄
The most scrumptious word ever, yes!
do people still say it? I'd like to expand my vocab in english but im afraid of sounding outdated or weird
It depends on kind of people you're talking to.
Yes, even young people say it. It sounds funny in a good way
@@cottbdbdbbdnow that u said that I can see chandler using it ahahha
It's definitely a 'fancy' word! So I wouldn't use it every day; just say, 'This food is good'. But yes, people do still use it when they want to be dramatic, funny or just really really want to stress how good the food is!
❤ nice..
Thanks 😊
Thank you
Glad you liked it!
All right. I only can say, WOW, a nice gift. Thank you. I'm very, very appreciated it. Thank you.😂
I appreciate your appreciation!
Very relevant list!
Thanks! I tried!
I feel like I knew nothing of this as an autistic American.
Hope it is useful (or at least interesting) for you. I live in Japan and decoding how people communicate here (different body language, tone of voice, expectation of what to say) is exhausting but fascinating. I wonder if that is similar to how you feel navigating communication in the US.
" let's Go dancing, that will mittagate your bad mood" ?
Yes, that is ok. But 'mitigate' is a fancy word, so we usually use it for more intellectual conversations. 'Planting more trees will mitigate the effects of climate change', 'Helmets mitigate the risk of head injuries', 'More communication mitigates the risk of misunderstandings'.
What is with " nock on wood" ? What is more used in conversation?
'Knock on wood' = 'Touch wood'. I use both. I believe 'knock on' is a little more common in US English and 'touch wood' is a little more common in UK English.
The coercer
Correct. But we almost never use the person noun 'coercer'. We'd usually say 'the person who coerced her' etc.

party pooper wet blanket party damper
Party pooper and wet blanket - yes! Very common. I have never heard anyone say 'party damper', though, but a 'damper' is an old word for something that puts out fires so it makes sense. I think it is not a commonly used idiom, though.
Thank you should suffice
'Thank you' is fine. These expressions are for students who want to expand the range of their English.
Just say Thank you I appreciate it That's kind of you Many other easy variations
True. But my channel is aimed at people who want to raise their English to advanced level, so I hope to stretch them a little more.
@@NEOEnglishwithPam As you've said in you're video, have to be careful not to sound deprecating. Tone of voice, sometimes less is more. Us English are ticklish about thanks.
It's a funny joke.❤
My son's favourite! ❤
It is very effective class🎉
Glad you found it helpful! 🙏

In Canada, we say “soother” for pacifier
Oh! Thanks! I've never heard that before.
Or you may also say 'A pair of....' right?
Yes, for sure! A pair of tongs, a pair of pants etc. 👍

Very nice lesson, thank you, I want to ask you a question, there are different ways of speaking that differ from one personality to another, some people speak nicely and politely and others speak the opposite, also there are times when it is necessary to use elegant and formal words and sentences, also speaking with friends is different from speaking with strangers for example, in terms of some words or sentences, so my question is, at what level can the language lessons you provide be used? Thank you.
Great question! I focus on conversational English for people who want to have nuanced, intelligent conversations. So everything I teach is acceptable in conversations with friends and peers. Occasionally I teach a vulgar expression that you shouldn't use with a client or your mother-in-law, for example, but I state that when I do.
Very useful lesson 🎉
Glad to hear that 🙏.

😂😂😂 7 ate 9 😄
You got it! 😂
It was a great lesson. I understood the joke after thinking a little. Six is afraid of seven because seven ate nine. It is funny, but it contains an important lesson in English. Thank you, and we hope for more such funny jokes and useful lessons from you.
Glad you enjoyed it! I will try! ❤
If I say some different words, do you get negatively marked? If I said 50% of the correct words and 50% incorrect.. would I still get 2/3 for content?
It's a bit more complex than that. PTE gives more weight to key words, so it would depend on *which* 50% of the words you used. But yes - you can use extra incorrect words without losing points for your content score. Doing that will negatively affect your pronunciation score, though.
I heard uni’s ask 65 . 66?
It very much depends on the course, and the country. When I used to work in Australia 6.5 was enough for most undergraduate courses, but nowadays they generally want higher scores. You can still find places that will accept lower scores though. You need to research carefully.

Well, grammaticaly both are correct
Yes, absolutely. That is why I think it's so important to teach grammar in context. Sometimes students learn the grammar but imagine a completely incorrect meaning for it.
Great video. Can this verb be used in relation to animals? Many thanks 😊
Thanks! I guess you could use it for animals, but I've never heard anyone do so. We often use the word 'coax' with animals; but it has a much gentler meaning. You can coax a scared cat to come down from a tree by showing it some cat food, for example.
Hello mam shall I take notes in write from dictation by typing or shall I take notes in the note pad Actually when I type at home mostly I will type but in the exam I have worst situation
Hi! Typing is faster. So I strongly recommend you type to keep pace with the voice. Good luck! 🍀
These statues were stolen by the Britain. I think this is a very clear and appropriate sentence, thank you for this wonderful lesson in history, and grammar as well.
Stolen, do you think? Maybe. It's complicated, though. Lord Elgin (the man who took the statues) said he got permission from the rulers of Greece. Also, he said he was saving the statues from neglect. However, it was controversial even at the time in Britain. The famous British poet, Lord Byron, considered it theft.
@@NEOEnglishwithPam Thank you for this historical information, and thank you for your open-mindedness and respect for the opinions of others. You are a wonderful person and an exceptional teacher. Thank you.
